Outcast gunboat turrets are rather small, and why oh why would you put anything unavailable to outcasts on it?
riiight - i don t know how big outcast turrets are ( never had them ) - but the old rogue GB ( now BHG GS ) looks funny with : infernos, razors, basic turrets, missile turrets ... basicly the available stuff. solaris are small enough, allright, cause they use the chaingun models.
but a cerberus turret on a BHG gunship looks like its around 1/8 the size of the gunship itself - ... but if you say that outcast gunboats won t use anything but outcast turrets.... . - anyway, i m most certain, that i ll see razors, infernos, missiles, cerberus turrets aswell.
Bear in mind - the Outcasts perhaps do construct the BW ship series, but they didn't begin it. It's as the name suggests - Borderwords series. For use in that particular region by whomever has the means to obtain a piece.
Zoners use dromedaries... Hessians got the fighters... Same for hackers and some freelancers.
That is why I would prefer that vessel being designated as a BW ship. Wouldn't hurt the Outcasts (Since I bet it would be sold on Corsica anyway), but make it availible to the wider masses.
I have no problem leasing it to the masses; I don't see why people shouldn't be able to cough up the necessary thirty million if they want to. What I do want it it wearing our name. I want to restrict who can fly this baby. I mean, think about it. This is OUR gunboat. As it stands, a Borderworlds ship can be flown by essentially anyone except a house military and the Corsairs. It's a very loosely sold affair. This is a gunboat; it's a much larger drain on resources and a much more dangerous thing than a Saber, and we'd like to control who it's sold to so we don't find it being used against us.
And I hope to keep it sold on Malta, in fact, replacing the Outcast Battleship, which needs to be produced at Corsica and Corsica ONLY.

Indeed. Even though the design is derived from Border Worlds line of ships it should be clearly Outcast ship. After years of use of Sabre fighters and Dromedary freighters, I bet Outcasts were able to come up with their own using the style and tech they all got used to after all that time. Would be quite natural technical progress for me. After all they produce those ships as well, so they know how to work further and expand possibilities of the well-known ship line for their own benefit and security. Such ship class would certainly fall into high priority house security category.
It doesn't really going to put a limit on allied to Outcast factions. I bet Lane Hackers could buy some of those, just do transactions in stories, in game. Some role-play instead of formalities.
If you ask me, it's no longer Border Worlds, it's edge worlds ship and perhaps even beyond the rim.
