I personally like the fact colonials police the tau's a bit, otherwise smuggling would be just plain powertrading. I have had several encounters with CR members and most of them end pretty well.
But i think you should try to keep some of your members more in line, as some of them make statements or do things that could cause allot of fuss. Also i have had two or three encounters where they blew a perfect RP opportunity (and my pirate train) into a million pieces.
I play a junker congress smuggler, and when stopped, i'll tell you the same story over and over. Mostly i have a discussion of several minutes with them and then eventually i comply. However some of your members just tell me after 1 minute or so:" times up, now you die" and shoot me without RPing much. My point here is that the CR has some pretty good believes, however some of your members just don't defend them with words in a discussion, they just shoot when they feel that they can't win the discussion. But then again, not many other people do that.
Anyway, keep doing what you do now, but keep in mind that you only have full control over tau 44, and that the other systems have other factions claiming them.
look that is something usefull i will be happy to replay to
you must understand sometime's time is the biggest fear of CR.
When stopping a smuggler.
Some not all smugglers if they are beeing stopt they call a few friends in alpha that bring a full army of outcasts
to kill maybe 2 or 3 CR members.
So sometime's a few members will try to finish things fast.. it's not always good
But on some grounds i understand them.
And yes some may say things that are not 100% true regarding owning systems etc.
Mostly they mean we patrol here and we will try to stop you if possible.
thanks for the comments jdftheman

Well that sort of adds to the character of CR. They are just a banded together group who survived... so you will have the lenient ones. Who will listen to your reasoning and form a rebuttal to your argument. Then you have the ones who have something against smugglers or something else about you. They may just not like talking and blast you out of the space because of it.
Honestly for me it adds to the appeal of the CR, as you never know what sort of person your gonna meet.
Also, just as a polite reminder to people..
Noone owns the Taus. Absolutely noone.
Many try to, of course, but noone does.
And when a member of the CR makes a controversial statement, if you have a disagreement of problem with it, hit me up in skype any time, I'll sort it all out.
Sometimes they'll be wrong, sometimes you'll be, but what's important is talking things over, and not bottling up anger inside yourself.

@finaldragon.
Sir,
i didn't fight with CR, i have not been killed by CR ever, i didn't lose Cardi, simply because i didn't haul it ever.
but i am often in Taus, and i see what happens there. i had a few encounters with CR and even if i didn't lose anything, luckily, i have not so good feelings about it, simply because it was not so good fun.
i am not a guy who comes to forum and cries that someone killed him, or taxed him, or harmed him. it is only a game.
i wrote posts in RP form, to show you that i, -tyro- am not against CR, and this hard criticism is not for complain about faction at all, but to improve some details.
i wanted to show you, that you are not alone on this server, you are part of big community of players, your faction is not vanila, you have, of course, rights to play, as everybody, but you can't just say: we play what we want, because of we want.
it could ruin other small minded ppl fun.
some ppl say you are the best faction on this server, and you more or less act like this. everyone on this server is a guest in other people home, so me and you too... some respect to others is always the best way.
that is all from me. you want to think about it, very well, you want to play what you want, fine, i can live with it...
I see, I have put a stick into the hornets' lair, it is time to back off, it could harm me or ruin my business at least.
So good luck up there Colonials!
May the Cylons care of you!

Well i must say you could have convinced me of you not caring for CR.
The way i read it it's more of a judgement and im not alone in this.
It may or may not be the idea behind your post but it has come over as that.
And for the part we are not alone that i get
We have increased our activity on disco (before everything was on our own forums )
And for the part about having fun we try to have clean fun with even fights .
And convoy's to other systems and name it we do it we try to interact with almost everyone we meet.
And the statement of small minded was ment for the part of your post comming over hostile just like the outcast spams we get ingame if we start a clean fight 3 vs 3 5 more outcast come and join in you try to get em to back off.
they do it for their own fun and not for the fun of other ppl they only see there fun nothing else matters.
and i must admit i thought you as one of them.

Anyway, until tau 23 is a passage to outcasts smugglers and his allies, =CR= have to expect some fleets of outcasts in tau 23, to give safe passage for smugglers.
Happen so many times , outcasts take a fleet to protect smugglers...but normally they don't fall back...they just smash =CR=

We'd greatly appreciate that those aforementioned fleets of Outcasts did not consist of a dozen capital ships swarming a few of our fighters.
We do have a lot of capital ships you know. If we wanted, you'd never beat us, but it'd just eliminate all the fun if we rolled out in our whole capital fleet.
Please.. follow our example.
We have nothing against you outnumbering us as far as up to.. say.. 3:1. But just please don't chase us around with destroyers.
We can't do anything to stop you from using any tactics that are allowed within server rules, but we'd appreciate it greatly if you did have everyone's fun in mind.
It's a game, albeit rather immersive game, but what you've gotta realize is that everyone's here to have fun, and not be ganked. Let's keep that in mind shall we?
Oh and, it's in our RP not to back down when facing a pirate threat, really. There's no 'retreat' in our military, if it's our assets that are in danger.

It's too much like the show and it feels weird seeing all of this in a Freelancer universe. Just feels completely bizarre. I can see how you weaved BSG's storyline with Discovery's, but it seems more like a fanfiction crossover than something genuinely believable. The least you could have done is changed all the names stated above. I suppose you have been here long enough that nobody really opposes you and it seems a lot of folks enjoy RPing with you.
I still get an uneasy feeling in my stomach when I'm dealing with Junkers, flying through Liberty space, escaping Outcast pirates and then I see a Battlestar Galactica ship pass by.
Then I hear Yoda-[T] talk about the Jedi and padawans.... *sigh* The Freelancer universe is so rich and plenty of Starlancer lore is still left unexplored. I don't understand all of these tendencies toward import factions.
