And yet I don't see where it says BH capships can kill over fighters/bombers, which is happening.
This is about Overkilling, not about Cap vs. Cap.
EDITED: And if you are not doing it, that's great we need more BH like you, but this started because of the Indies hunting fighters and bombers in warships.
What I understood far now is:
BHG has the right as every other faction to have Capital ships (Server balance)
BHG has the RP to have capital ships (Nomads, Order, etcs)
No one want to take out BH capships, or any other capship.
We all want stop the overkilling.
Overkill occurs on both sides. It's also very subjective. A fighter innocently doing missions might not deserve a battlecruiser blowing it to pieces in two volleys, but fighters/bombers threatening said battlecruiser and calling in reinforcements... Is it overkill to kill them? Before -won't name- various Corsair gunboats, cruisers and battleships are called in to waste the poor Core captain?
Obviously, the same thing can occur to corsair capital ships. Is it overkill for them to fire at bounty hunter bombers eager to collect a bounty, before the initial volley of supernovas into their shields?
Funnily enough, there are no restrictions nor complaints against overkill from fighters and bombers...
I tell you my small tutorial how to face enemie cap in fighter and keep fun on your side.
1. scan him... if he doesnt have missiles fly arnoud and piss him with sooting into him till he became annoyed enough to leave your teritory. If he have missiles, just flee... he become bored soon (nothing to do is boring like hell) and leave your teritory too:)
2. get bomber and minimaly 1 friend (it is easier if you are in faction to create working bomber squad) and go to whore him with SNACs... 2 bombers are enough to kill everything smaller than battleship (ment with basic flying skills). 3 bombers are enough to kill battleship:)Whore them, whore them and whore them until your nick (or tag of your faction) didnt make a giant hole into their brains. If you kill someone with IQ higher than 15 more than 2 times without losess there is chance 80% they never try to rape you again:)
Note, that the below is not necessarily what happens ingame, but is very similar to what happens if Discovery were real.
Daily, to run a vessel the size of a Cruiser or larger, is far greater than any amount of money an independent captain can make. Factor in fuel, wages for crew, ammunition, maintenance, and many other costs.
The Bounty Hunter's Guild is not a foundation that pays its workers for what they do, like the LN or the BAF. Those groups subsidize fuel, ammunition, and wages for all their members. The BHG, is for a lack of a better term, a Union.
It most likely began by providing health insurance, comm channels, and an occasional "green" base for otherwise lonely Hunters to mingle and resupply for a small cut of their bounty profits. Eventually, the BHG gained power, as the numbers of Hunters grew. Soon enough, they became a lobbying group, fighting with the houses to allow Hunters to operate. The Houses too, imposed restrictions on Hunters, stating that if they were not registered with the Guild, they could not operate.
The Guild in no ways subsidizes the operating costs of independent bounty hunter vessels.
As a result, it's utterly pointless for regular BHG members to operate vessels the sizes of Gunboats and above, as it would completely drain them of their profits.
The Guild Core, on the other hand, supplies their own vessels for their own purposes, much like how the LN, RM, and BAF, subsidize their military vessels. It makes sense for the Core to have capitals for specific purposes.
In the next mod version, I believe that capitals will be restricted to the Core ID, which will eliminate the illogical concept of regular BHG flying capital class vessels.

Good points Elgatodiablo. I believe people fail to see the difference between the Bounty Hunters and the Guild Core - both BHG players and others alike.
Again, can't wait till 4.85. New infocards and information regarding the BHG and the Core should be included, so all players get to know the different roleplays of the respective factions. Hopefully all this mess will be sorted(well, until the undesirables move to another ID to wreck).

Corsairs have more ZoI than just Gamma. Omegas are filled with Corsair ... the Corsair are at war with Red Hessians for ownership of the Omegas. They also have hostilities with Outcast and are allied with Order ... so they are not confined to Gamma.
BHG caps are supposed to be fighting Order ... not hunting bounties.
I'd agree to leave BHG alone if the BHG would hunt us pirates more reasonably. But accepting "generic" bounties and using overclassed vessels don't help your case. My pirate, Black.Pearl, does a bit of trading on the side. He moves water, food and medicine to those the house systems oppress. He hasn't pirated anyone in over 3 months. So hunting me without a specific bounty for something I personally have done pisses me off.
I wouldn't have a problem with that if it weren't for one minor game command: /renameme
Trader Atrain posts a bounty on Corsair Alpha due to his being pirated. Corsair Alpha sees that bounty posted and says, 'HAH! I'm a hunted man/woman/sheep - I'll just use some of my profits and assume a new identity." /renameme Beta - and voila, 2 million credits later, Corsair Alpha no longer exists, and instead there's Corsair Beta, a new pirate, ready to banzai into the trade lanes and annoy traders. And poor Trader Atrain wonders why no one is collecting the generous bounty he posted.
There are obviously certain pirates that don't do tihs - Phate and all his various ship configurations comes to mind right off the top (including one I saw just as a name - Phate.Spyglass!), all of Grimly's characters seem to have Grimly in them somehow or another. And we all know, too, that there are a lot of pirates that DO change their names.
That's why the 'generic' bounties came about in the first place. Governments issued them first, because they were too busy to name every single pirate that was operating in their borders.

Well, yes and no. Independant hunters should have payroll, fuel, and other issues. Corporate bounty hunters - and I'm specifically using the S/D here - are a different story. We ARE regular BHG members - we're also not independant. For a corporation to have and subsidize an assortment of ships for their employees does make perfect sense - the whole point being, getting the most dollar (or credit) for their investment is what matters the most.
I've taken my ships out into Delta in the past. I simply told the Corsairs that I saw that I wasn't in Gamma for them, I was on my way out to deal with Nomads. And then I went out there. They left me alone, I left them alone. Common sense in gaming, I know a rare concept, but it works. I've even made comments to Order pilots that we're all human, and we should fight together against the common Nomad foe and defeat THEM first - then we can squabble amongst ourselves.
But of course, I know how to RP a Bounty Hunter, too.
Quote:It may be impossible to use BHG capitals without voluntarily, or involuntarily screwing up other people's RP and PVP experience.
Can't say. Haven't tried it yet. Note I said yet. Having never flown one, I can't say for certain, so I won't comment. But a damn good point - it may simply be unavoidable for many players. What makes it possible for some to do this and not others?
Knowing actually how to RP makes it possible. Go to the post about how having a larger ship makes it much EASIER to RP - because most NPC's can't touch dis. (Hammer time, break it down!) Then actually RP with the ship. Not to point ill at the dead and/or missing, but now that the DW is gone from the server, the only BH cap abuse is from some independants - just as the Corsair cap abuse is from some independants (or do I need to point out how many pirate cap ships got put into Bastille recently due to cap abuse?)
Again - it's the player, not the ships. Little boys and their big toys that don't want to play by the rules will always get smacked around. (Heck, I've even been in New Berlin as a Bounty Hunter in a bomber and was ready to assist the RM in running a BH battleship out of system that didn't want to go because it was a violation of Rheinland laws - because I as a hunter respect Rheinland laws when in Rheinland.)

The /renameme command is no excuse to avoid specific bounties. If the /renameme command is being abused in such a manner then the command should be removed. I don't want people using this as an excuse to avoid role play bounties properly. Generic bounties negate the rule for bounty hunters to even glance at the forums.
