A low hum of sirens was heard.
"So gents, these are disturbing news indeed. I didn't imagine we will be face that kind of threat.."
As the sirens became louder and louder, it seemed like a big police force was heading toward the vicinity of Christy's.
Brian checked his communicator, looking for a message about an unusual event happening on New London planet, but no message was received.
"Well, I wonder what is wrong, as I didn't get any notification about a crime happening, and it seems a big force is heading to this dire"
Brian communicator started beeping. It was a call from his second in command.
With a concerned look on his face Brian listened to his 2nd.
He then jumped to his feet and addressed his fellow chiefs:
"Well gents, it seems Greene is onto us, and he sent quite a force to arrest us.
We better get the hell out of here, let's meet planet side and head towards Gran Canaria"
With that, the gents ran out of the room to their trusted ships and headed to orbit planet New London"
Time passed, Grenville and Greene were disposed of and Chief Commissioner Palmer took control of the Bretonia Police Authority.
Normality did not return however and the BPA continued to lose members. Officers became more and more stressed with their ever increasing workloads and Christy’s Tea Shoppe became neglected by its once reliable clientele.
Christy, after discovering her establishment had severe water damage in the foundations, made the decision to move from her current spot, 5 kilometres North to The Hub. The building was in the process of a major revamp at the time and what better place to be situated then exactly fifteen metres away from the main elevators where Constables entered or left New Scotland Yard.
The bottom two floors housed a large courtyard which had numerous BPA sanctioned restaurants, superette’s and pubs available for easy access. This worked well for the Constabulatory and the store owners, and it worked well for Christy.
She sold her old premises (conveniently forgetting the damaged foundation blocks) and used the funds to create a new temple of relaxation in the East corner of the courtyard.
She picked a much more professional paint scheme, royal purple and white.
The interior she was particularly proud of, gone were the wobbly slat chairs and the front room booths that managed to simultaneously impale you on the switchboards and crush you against the tables; Replaced with comfortable cushioned seats and expensive (stable) benches bolted to the varnished floor.
The kitchen area was much more expansive and was filled with the best appliances Christy could purchase with her funds. Behind the counter was a curtain that covered the entrance into the back room. Closely modelled on the original niche, this secretive hideaway had a small fire place (often lit on colder days) and provided the perfect place for the senior officers in the BPA to relax.
It was a rather strange day or rather it had been a very strange week that herald winter coming to these parts of New London the rain had almost completely stopped and it looked like it was threatening to snow the temperature had drastically fallen alas this did not catch the two figures that made their way down the street all wrapped up in winter wear.
Lafiel almost skipped through the street but thought better of it as she lost her footing on the pavement and slid Olivers hand had shot out from no were as Lafiel felt its strong presence around her waist suddenly steadying her again. They had traveled in silence for a long part of the journey though Oliver had advised her not to go out in this weather when she did there was not a word of complaint when he accompanied her but he had insisted that she be apropriately dressed as New London was especially known for its sudden change from rain to freak snow in winter it truely was an unusual phenomenon.
Lafiel had borrowed one of her fathers armed forces issued service greatcoats, it was very big on her and almost drapped to the ground, she had even had to roll up the sleeves but it kept the weather off her which appreciated she had a light blue scarf wrapped snuggly around her neck and matching woolen gloves it was the lighter colours strongly contrasted with the greatcoat itself. Oliver had been very practical in his approach he wore a black double breasted great coat with gold buttons matching pants and high black boots made for the snow should it ever come while they were out he had picked it so that he could keep himself manouverable and quick in this weather should any trouble arise. He was much against the idea of wearing a scarf and had turned up the collar on his greatcoat.
They continued on their way Lafiel had spotted a rather deep muddy puddle that seemed to stretch for a few metres and hesitated. Oliver had stepped right through it when he had noticed she had stopped he came back to the countess without any hesitation he gently picked up the countess with both hands lifting her off her feet and continued through the river of the puddle his voice was teasing, "Come along my dear best not to tarry in this weather. You should have worn pants you know a much more apropriate attire." Lafiel just rolled her eyes and poked her tongue at him and he smiled as he placed her down on the other side of the river. The concept of wearing pants seemed quite insane she only wore them when she went riding she much prefered her dresses.
Lafiel looked ahead of them and found she was looking at New Scotland yard it was only a few metres away she was actually just passing through on her way to WhiteHall but she spotted a sign to a new establishment and found herself suddenly walking into the courtyard where its various food establishments were for the BPA. She looked up at the sign 'Christy's Fine Tea and Delicious Pastries' she called to oliver as she almost jogged suddenly excited, "Its a new patisserie! Come on Oliver its cold lets go have some warm tea and something nice to eat." Oliver trailed leisurely as he called after her, "I agree time for a cup of tea. Steady on though don't run you will trip end up half soaked."
Her fast pace was ever graceful even when her feet slightly slid she didnt lose her balance she slowed down when she got close to the front door and walked leisurely in. As she entered she heard the chiming of a little bell as she walked to the coat rack on the wall and removed her fathers jacket revealing a light blue long sleeved jumper over a white long sleeve top with a dark blue skirt. Hanging the jacket on the rack she removed her gloves and placed them in an internal pocket. She then made a b line straight for a table in the middle of the room were she sat down looking around she realised the establishment was rather cozy albeit she didnt like the purple a it was one of her least favourite colours. She noticed Oliver had caught up with her and was at the counter paying for tea and other refreshments before he came to sat down with her carrying them to the table.
"Oliver here you are my lady a pot of earl grey tea, a chocolate eclair one of your favourite treats and a news paper should you desire to read it." Oliver placed both teacup out as he spoke pouring tea for them both and then some milk placing the eclair in front of her while moving a pasty in front of himself and the sat down. Lafiel thanked him as she took a bite of the eclair and exclaimed, "Oh my this is delicious Oliver you should get one for yourself."
Oliver commandeered the newspaper as they began a discussion on politics.
Superintendent Calvert strolled out of the front doors which always were filled to breaking point of those who decided that where ever they needed to be, they were needed there yesterday and no one was going to stop them. He pushed, weaved and generally barged thorough the crowd until he broke free of the masses into the sanctuary of a courtyard he could have sworn wasn't here the last time he was on New London. "Always changing every little thing these chaps are, never satisfied just to live with the old" the stressed Superintendent muttered to himself. His deep blue eyes unconsciously searched the courtyard as they had often done before when walking the beat of this very city among countless others.
Flashing from off duty constables to the nooks that are the universal places where trouble makers inhabit. The calm eyes pass over the royal purple and white paint before double taking back the very instant the nose caught up a waft of something familiar. "Christy's?" inhaling deeply before confirming "By Joe! There is only one tea that smells like that..." Extending his stride to maximum before he skids to a stop in front of the entrance "Well I'll be darned, it really is Christy's".
Stepping inside he chuckles to himself at the heavy duty bolts securing the sparkling new tables to the floor "The old girl really did hate it when the Liverpool and Kingston boys got a bit rough with the furniture". Sitting himself down he notices the curtain drawn reveling nothing as to what was behind it. "I suppose I'll be spending most of my time behind there, gee its been a long time since that sort of..." He murmurs to himself while pondering what word is most appropriate. "Gathering not meeting, what was discussed there was far to sensitive for a meeting." Noting the young Countess of Araluen and her watcher Oliver debating something on the central table. He nods in their general direction catching Olivers eye before casting his eyes on the body of the young Countess who is the heart throb of most of his younger officers.
Stretching out he decides that Cambridge can manage another hour without him. "Well its got nothing like the smell of the farms of Cambridge or even the homeliness of its old location." Finally raising his voice "Christy Oh Queen of Teas, Could a man get the same old brew with crumpets that he craves?" As a final note to himself "but its got my seal of approval."

Captain Libertas of the Hearts.Delight
A adolescent walks into Christy's he would be wearing a black long sleeve hood being a bit to long for him as he held the end of the sleeve in his palm, it would be easy to underestimate him as he wore also slightly baggy pants looking around for only a short while he begins makes it to the most secluded area he can find and just light any other music kid, would move headphones to his ears and start listening to what ever was playing at the time, seeming quite happy enough to just sit their and watch the world go by, even as people tried to get his attention he would ignore them having shut his eyes and blocking out the world around him like they never existed as his foot taps on the ground along with his heart beat, having a smile on his face having not really payed attention to anyone.
It was late autumn. Despite the warmth of The Hub one could not shake the feeling of inner cold unless a hot drink was procured.
Commander Lucy Silsbury realized this and, after a few months of avoiding the establishment, pushed the door to Christys open.
She glanced around the room quickly, eyeing the youth with a hint of distaste and upon sight of Miss Tarrant her facial muscles moved the slightest amount to convey a scowl.
This power to convey powerful emotions with only a slight hint of change in her impassive face often freaked people out. Yes she was very attractive, no more so then when she smiled her subtle and rare smile, but her eyes had a quality which often forced people to look away.
Her powerful gaze then moved to Christy who was tending Superintendant Calvert at the counter. The woman made a barely audible squeak and stiffened as the uniformed Silsbury strode purposefully towards the bar.
Calvert greeted the Commander as she reached the counter...
Lafiel and Olivers voices had risen an fallen as their conversation got hot and cold in what seemed like a break between their argument on politics Lafiel stood up turned on her heel to walk over to the counter were Christy was.
Lafiel was smiling now the effects of the heated political debate worn off her voice was soft and melodical flowed over everyone near her as she spoke, "Exscuse me Christy may I please have some more tea I think I will let you surprise me as you know a lot more about tea than myself I am sure and a lot of these teas I have never heard of before. I would also like please one of your shephards pies and another eclair." As she stopped she thought to herself for a moment looking to oliver then back to Christy, "Make that two eclairs please." Christy bowed, "Christy bowed as she spoke, "At once my Countess would my lady I will take this to your table do you care for anything else?"
Lafiel almost giggled as she smiled, "It's alright Christy I don't see my father or any other nobility around you don't have to be so formal. Now that will be all how much does that come to?" Christy shook her head, "For you my lady free of charge you may eat in my establishment any time you want for free it is rare I get nobility come in." Lafiel grimaced slightly opened her purse and placed at least triple of what it would of normally cost her before Christy could protest Lafiel had whirled on her feet to return to her table just as she saw him... the man that was but a child who had protected her at one time the man who had until just recently been her sort of a friend but it was on this day that he would stand her enemy for she had seen records on her fathers computer of what he had done. Though hidden amongst the clothes he wore she recognised him and his style of clothing.
Lafiel walked over to him her face gone cold and emotionless she stood over him and screamed in fury, "You... Christopher Dangen how could you murder those people of Bretonia not only members of the armed forces but people of the civilian army Citizens misguided innocent people. How could you do such a thing I read the report of the people you killed and know that I hate you for you are just like all men an like all men you spill the blood of other men and of women and children. I hope you meet an end to which is befitting one who betrays an oath and commits murder which is of High treason against another living being. I never wish to see you again." With her last words she whirled around and left turning her back on him to sit by Oliver once more just as Christy arrived with various delights.
A person walked into the bar, a woman, defined by the way she walked. She wore a black hooded robe, and black leggings. On her feet were two black leather boots, and on her hands were a pair of gloves, each finger having a small plus-shaped cut on the tip. As she went to sit down, anyone who particularly cared enough to look at her would have possibly spied a tail, covered in light pink fur, but few people in the place would actually have noticed, and fewer would have trusted their eyes.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
As the young man would smile slightly as she talked just shaking his head at the stupidity that she believe every single battle report that she read on there, he cracked his neck slightly and his knees clicked as he stands up and heads to Lafiel's table bowing slightly in a formal manor.
"Lady Tarrant its a pleasure to see you two as well... so nice of you to wish well upon me from something that they started and I happened to finish, now oath breaking maybe I broke the Black Squadron oath because I didn't know of what they had done.... but i haven't broken mine, 'Sir.lacealot' was the first to fire after i armed my weapons and targeted, I was acting out of self defense as I was on my way out of Bretonia and killed people that's a laugh their eject pods seemed to work just fine.... so seeing as you no longer seem to want me around or see me I relinquish my serves' of protection that I bestowed upon you, due to your assumption that I purposely 'murdered' pieces of scrap metal the only treason to the crown I did was destroy civilian and Government property in which case I was acting out of self defense." He would come up from his bow looking at her his eyes golden with a black rim. He bows his head in Lafiels direction."Lady Tarrant."then to Oliver."Oliver." He would move away from them leaving her in the same way he did her giving her no chance to reply as he moves and sits down on his own again happily doing so as if nothing had ever gone wrong.
Calvert smiles at Commander Silsbury, possible the most hardworking and incorruptible person he knew. What a perfect poster girl she would have made but she was too good at what she did, uncovering those secrets that were buried by those with power. "Hello Lucy , What will you be having?" He strolls back to his table "Feel free to join me, I could do with the company" and slightly softer "and this way you won't be arresting Lafiel or the shady fellow she was talking to, Christy would never forgive us". The realisation struck that his Data pad was still on he dived for his pocket before anyone could ruin the fun he was having.
