Big thanks to the captain of the Veranda for the much-needed funds - got me a shiny new (used) transport! Hurrah! Dunno what the durn thing was used for, but the holds sure do smell funny...not sure I wanna know. Buuut, it's all good. Already converted the galley to a gourmet kitchen (asteroid dodging makes it grumpy in there...pots fallin' off and whatnot), as long as sloppy joes count as gourmey food. Har!
Nice cabin, though. Gonna stop at Curacao and get a cabin refit. Those merchant bunks are rough! Might as well sleep on the deck for all the good they do ya. I'll get 'em removed and replaced with a proper bed. Double. Queen! Maybe.
Thanks goes also to Millenia, for providing some entertainment value along the way; and to both of 'em for showing me a nice wee trade route including me new home, Bafflin'.
I think Eris likes me. Had problems with this cargo log's jump computer a few times, & kept getting cut by convoys at the jump gate. Had to sit there and wait while two full convoys went through 'fore I could rejoin the Veranda and Millenia. I need a coffee maker! Something else to add to the list of stuff to grab on Curacao, I hear they have killer coffee.

Heya, Mal,
Shadey Syl here. I'm back in Delta for my tour. Took a bit longer than usual to interface and get comfy in this Nepthys.. it's a hodgepodge of techno bits.. took me almost 10 seconds to adjust!
Didn't see any super duper chatty nomads on my way in. A shame, too. I was ready to talk their tentacles off! Even had some new recipes for primate to share with 'em.
I'll be hangin' close to the Freeport for my patrols. Ya know, that Meiun is right. Us Zoners got no business throwin' our weight around and acting all big and bossy over here. Even that scatterbrained Jinx realizes that FP11 is one miniscule part of Delta, and the BH and 'sairs got most of it. Heck, the Order is in here constantly, and I've even seen some Navy Patrols pop in from Minor frequently! Let them do their share.
The TAZ especially has got no business huntin' these new freaky deeky nomies, unless they got Pineals to shine for Eris, which I kinda doubt...
So.. talk or fight? Sixes. Or, Five tons of flax, as you're fond of saying. Let the big brains like Seldon and that other Doctor guy, and even Alice Spires deal with em. If they come within a few clicks of Freeport 11, then they're our problem. Otherwise.. Sayonara blue boy! Don't let the door hit ya in the butt on the way home! (Do they have "butts"...?).
I'll keep ya posted, Episko-boss.
Oh, and regards to Reggie! I'm glad he's quit pinin' over my mom. He's gotten real foxy since those visits to the Geode. He needs to go prowlin'!
What did I do last night? I remember a big bright room... stale coffee... lots of tight flax holes... some pink chick scowling... apparently you tied me to a saline drip... Its like my Cambridge High School reunion all over again. You know they say there's always one schmuck that shows up in a Battleship... well after I sacked the free bar I accidentally crashed it into the new library wing... now theres just a knitting club left in the ruins...

Heyas. Ran some food, consumer goods, and light arms to Crete the other day; ran into a Junker kid named Pipsqueak along the way. Said he hadn't eaten in days, because food gave him horrific gas and his fighter's cockpit is tiny. Can't blame 'im! Then we ran into a bounty hunter Albatross that decided he didn't much like my smelly but friendly li'l escort, an' tried to get him.
'Course, I offered Pipsqueak some of the food rations in my hold so he could unleash an unholy biological assault on the Albatross. Didn't wind up needin' to, though; he failed miserably in hitting the little fella, the Albatross being a fat clumsy thing, but he tried.
The rest of the trip was pretty standard, though there was some interestin' conversation. Gonna hafta look it up in my ship's log so I can post it later. Then I took off and got bored, so I buzzed within 1k of the neutron star in Omega-41. The hull didn't like it, and Kali REALLY didn't like it, but I never seen a neutron star up close before and didn't wanna pass up th' chance. Zoom!
Still gotta stop by Curacao to get that bed and coffee maker. Knew I forgot something!
Your wish has been granted. That new SigInt boat you wanted is docked on Curacao. All the Kusaran tourists are going "ooh!" and "ahh" and "crick crick".
The builders were a bit wary at first when i requested to dock, but they changed their tune when I squirted them the balance of my Flax account. That got some red carpet treatment. Then they were all a-twitter when I floated out of the cockpit of my ship. What geeks! They couldn't wait to fondle my titanium sheath, and just had to know how many teraflops per nanosec I could juggle. Well, I gave em a peek at my insides and held still for some scans, and the deal was sealed! They fell all over themselves interfacing me with the new ship.
Anyway, this bloodhound has a nose and ears that will sniff out and sort the spectrum of an entire system, and halfway up the jumpholes to boot. It's loaded with Intel goodies that I'll spend entire hours figuring out! And the other 'dettes will be so jealous. It has this chameleon skin that changes instantaneously to match any ambient conditions! No need to accesorize with this baby.
So, per yer orders, Ofuscatorus Rex, I'm gonna grab a quick charge, and as soon as the crew fuels up the new Sniffer and wipes off the tourists' finger and nose prints, I'm off to find this Tannik Seldon guy. It should be fun flyin' around with him. He seems smart enough to do complex quadratics standing on his head. Not yer average primate, ol' Tannik. I just hope he doesn't take offense at the TAZ bargin' in on his little project so sudden-like. I hope you're right about these "Keepers" not takin' offense at a non-primate; but last time in Delta, they didn't bother to ask whether I had a pulse or not.

Ladies, Gents, and Titanium Sisters.
Our Underground Publisher on Manhattan reports the release of the latest digital version of the Principia Discordia. Now known as "The Banned Bible of Baffin", the Principia is required reading for all TAZers, and a great gift to pass on to others. (Particularly those lawful cabbage types who scan you and insist that you part with your copy.)
For that very reason, I hereby require every TAZ vessel to retain at least one copy of the Digital Principia (..aka counterfeit software..) on board at all times. If you wish to carry more copies to distribute to deserving cabbages,or even the undeserving who get cranky about it, you will receive Eris Bonus Points.
Remember: The Cabbage you encounter today may be a Pope, a Tsar, or even a Messiah tomorrow, simply by acquiring and reading our Holy Tome. It has already replaced James Joyce as the most-read material on Arranmore, and those guys couldn't even tie their shoes before.
Copies are available from the aforementioned publisher on Manhattan, or from Raymond's Dirty Disks and Holos on Rochester. No slackin'. Get crackin'.

You got it, Episkopos! In fact, I'll be keepin' five copies on me, so I can keep mine an' still have a few to pass out to them cabbagey folks. Plenty of room in my new transport's hold.
An' keep an aye out for a fella callin' himself "USS Intrepid." He asked me 'bout joinin' the TAZ, so I pointed him in the right (or wrong. Ha!) direction an' gave 'im 500k and directions to the nearest Dromedary.

Quote:Hello all, Millenia was enroute from Honshu to New Berlin when she was stopped by the abovenamed ship. The ship had the audacity to try to rob a TAZ ship. Luckily the lanes came back online in time for Millenia's timely escape. Below is a transcript of the event

Oh, and to Telicaster and the casual observer who don't think the TAZ own any trading ships now, just "cap ships",
Here's Roy and John, with Shady Syl:

And here's Linus with Reggie in the Oro.de:

And I still don't have pics of our other traders, the ChaoGirl, the Baffin Queen, the Machinae Infractae, the Pysychedelic Entropy, and some others that aren't as active right now.
Tell ya what, Squire Teli.. we'll try to get the whole gang together for a group pic some time. Just for you.

In two days time ... on Sunday ... at 2200 GMT, the Nayehiya will begin a mass migration of our inflicted people from Montezuma, Cortez into Baffin for the cure found in your Geode. I humbly request your aide in this. Our people will need escorts and transports. Whatever you can spare will be most helpful.
I have requested aide from an old Junker friend, Tohi Adedi to make the first couple runs. He is a smuggler with Firefly capable of moving 3500 passengers. After Tohi Adedi has completed his second trip, I will bring in my Outcast Destroyer to observe the movement and to increase deterance. Anyone wishing to interfere will most likely start showing up soon after we begin moving our sick.
