why don't you add some mix of bomber and light fighter?
quick, small, agile, with max 2 guns, and a snac-torpedo? or maybe 1 guns and 1 snac and 1 torpedo...and a separate cd, of course.
crazy idea: kamikaze ship. they get close, explode themselves, or get killed, and explode as well, with high range and high damage. special rule for them: non attacking after death is only restricted to this kind of char, and only for two hours, or one...after all dying is their objective...
(but i read that auto-destruction is being added in 4.86? is similar to this?)
storm missiles: high refire rate, higher speed, less power and turn rate...maybe higher load
uh, a good idea i think: turning view inside cockpit. you press left, and your view turn left to see who's next at your left, same for the right. so you can avoid to turn the whole ship to see who's next to you, and if possible also allowing you to side-fire without using turret view. i intend that this can be done along with normal movements.
an improvement to chat log, so you can quickly find the player you want to talk to?
there's already a way to register default messages for certain situations? like ''wait, don't shoot, i'm doing *something*''. so when a pirate catch you, and does'nt allow you to type well 'cause he bother firing, you use this message? or when there are npc around, and you can stay still typing, cause they would kill you?
maybe g-effect visual graphics?
emp energy-shield discharge? press button, your energy and shield go down, as well those of nearby ships, in a sphere radius depending on ship's size?
slow auto-repaining equipment, consuming energy, without nanos?
introduce space robots!!! or even better transformers !!!! :lol:
or, this is gonna pound you: ships combination! two or more ships gather, unite, became one with one hull-shield energy, made of the sum of single ships!!!:crazy:

I myself like the light fighter idea, gives more interesting areas of play:D plus it would be a change from the VHF SHF scenery.
I dont like the refire guns idea but tahts because last i knew them kinda guns played havoc with the servers (Something bout guns shooting faster than 16. makes it screwy, if this is not relevant then ignore this)

That emp idea is pretty neat! I remember there was an "admin mod" back in the day taht had a mine similar to that concept plus some friends and i tried to get that idea out of a gun, it was annoying as hell tho.

the ''bomber interceptor'' is kinda a big cannon with engines and wings, and few more. being it light, he has the same hit points of normal LF, but less guns, max 1-2, so it isn't overpowered. also the shield is not that powerful (or maybe yes. after all they must get close to the capships...i read there was the suggestion to introduce shields power ups. this may come in handy). it must not became also an anti fighter ship, even if it would bother the heaviest fighter for sure. plus, it maybe has no mines. or yes? i know bomber's players use screamer mines near the targets to low their shields. in my opinoin, bombers are so slow, your patience can go out easily...i if remember, there was even the request to make some anti-shield version of snac...a LF with a small gun on his front, and two big cannon on its sides, it is funny to me

the emp discharge cause ships to use mines, missiles...and allies who stayed out of the emp range. or maybe it discharge only the shields, but an emp is supposed to cut off also the energy... i tought it to be a sphere expanding from the ship, not a gun, missile, or mine, as you may have understood. a capship using, or suffering it, is some kind of a problem.
what about the cockpit turning view? can it be done?
Need an "old" infocard tweaked. Much to my mortification, I've been rping the Goddess Geode as a small moonlet. It was just pointed out to me that the diameter/mass as listed on infocard and Wiki makes the bloody thing larger than Earth! Not good!
As it currently stands, the Geode is twice the size of Planet Eris.. doubly not good!
a new tech in GB/Bombers
If we pay attention to thruster when we use A or D keys it goes on %99 so we can use a method...
When we press the D key the ship go to the right more faster like 60 speed...but this gonna eat the charge of the thruster.... Like 100+anything it is...for example a capital one with 125 drain goes on 225 drain but just when u use it !! in normal it drain the 125 or anything it is.... And it can make some good effect in the maneuver of the GB's/Bombers but when u use this way to dodge u cant use both D and TAB key to use thruster otherwise the normal thruster use will work with 125 thrust.... may be we can make a new thruster that used just in mentioned ships.....
and we can use it in 4.86 for cruisrs too..... Just some numbers in right places....+ some balance tests+ a new thruster that just mounted on mentioned ships thats all......... But i think u got the idea....
