Indeed, we have an amazing compositor. Kudos goes to Michigan, sweet stuff dude, keep it up. Supporters, if you have any questions please post them here.
To Snapp, you're simply missing the point. Continuum is not a conversion, nor is it following Vanilla lore to the T. It's exploring a timeline in which certain elements are not the same.
Think if you went back in time, killed a few people, and invented the automobile engine 100 years early. Life today wouldn't be exactly the same. While in general, the US is still the US and China still is going to take over the world (lol), but not everything is the same as it would have been otherwise.
That is Continuum. (minus the time travel)
Don't think I'm spoiling anything, just trying to rectify the name a bit.
- models : absolutely amazing meshes - but none of them are textured?! - they are also shown with dx9 shaders ... not sure how they look in the freelancer dx8 engine ( yes, i know the FL engine CAN do normal maps, and fancy shaders, but it severely strains the engine )
- lore : sounds interesting - but gameplay comes from administrated organization or game masters ( something we miss on disco unfortunately )
- the starmap : looks aweful to be honest - like a bad piece of modern art - some abstract 60s art, which was produced in the late 90s - way past its sell date.
in general - the mod has HUGE promise - but what do you really offer players in the long run. - offering active gameplay means a lot of work. - relying on players to make the lore results in stuff like [A].
however - from the looks - it looks better than freeworlds but also a lot less finished. - just keep in mind - what binds players ... are players! fancy models and such won t do a thing to keep a playerbase.
