Anna sat back crossing her arms as she try to process the words being said. She sighed shortly
“I've already been through hell after I got from Malta. Sick and all that. I didn't knew why
I felt so broken down at the time. A friend of mine told me later it was probably the lack
of cardamine. I had some in the days following, I recovered from feeling ill. As soon as
I stopped using it I fall back into feeling ill.”
“So are you really saying that only little can be changed now?”
She frowned for a short moment.
“I've already killed, shot those that smuggled cardamine, those that enslaved people.
Maybe they let me go from Malta, but they want me back. The Outcasts, they only let
me go because they knew the cardamine would make me come back for more. I may
have thought that I was free, seems I'm not. So I decided to go back to Malta a while
ago, there was nothing left for me anywhere else, so why not return to them.”
“I was waiting on Freeport 10 to meet the one that had caught me. The one that fed me
the drugs. But something changed my mind on going back, moments before she arrived
to see me again. Someone changed my mind, I wasn't ready or ever will be to throw
away my life to live with the Outcasts.”
“I asked a… friend to make her leave. He had to shoot her down. Just so that I could run
once again. So yeah, I guess I made up my mind on not wanting to live with this stuff.
Yet what is there to choice do I get to make? I’m already stuck to it.”
Anna looked Doc into his eyes, almost a begging look in her eyes.
Why's she alive?... Why is she alive AND here?! How could Sam let her go? You granny... those legs may not be showing the truth, you are really getting old. These were Sol's thoughts as he left the scene.
He walked away. The sun was shining on his face, everytime he inhaled the air and the cardamine inside the cardi breather, it was making weird noises, now even louder because he was a bit nervous and annoyed.
He reminisced the time he first got Anna in Cortez, his first failed attempt at capturing her... Then in Coronado a second one, Sava jumped on Anna when she least expected it, yet she could run away again... Third time, Sol watched Zaza and Anna fight for hours without defining a victor, was funny at first, then boring as hell. Fourth time though... Sol caught Anna by her shoulder in Barrier Gate... Samantha appeared with her clean dress, what an annoying sight it was. The smoke, a strecthed chain, and a life fading away slowly... Jake was gone that day. That was the order all along; take one down, keep the other one alive for a public execution. But she's alive... How could this happen?
Memories of his slave past, fat pigs were barking orders and he was "executing" them. This thought angered him more... Then he remembered what Anna said... about slavers... She was not doing something bad... she was shooting the slavers... The same thing Sol did a few weeks ago... That time Sol agreed with her, still was out to destroy her despite that.
Sol felt shame even though he didn't want to recognise it. How many did he kill because he was ordered to, without even questioning them? What about Seth, the one he considered his own brother... he even killed him. And for what, to leave his masters one day like this? Sol knew that he couldn't hide behind this excuse... "being a slave, following orders"... His life had no meaning anyways, he could die and save hundreds before... but it was too late they were already dead.
Now however, Sol had a purpose to live, he couldn't erase his mistakes, but his people in Malta, the slaves... he would live to make sure that they don't have to be forced on to the same mistakes.
Yeah right, Sol thought... I can't even free myself... How can I free my people?... I am useless. Soon I will die, having lived a miserable life, commited hundreds of evil deeds... Or I will live as a slave to cardamine, commiting even more of them, stealing, killing.
Sol didn't realize that he walked back to the park he saw the flower girl... The park was beautiful, a small pond was in the center of the park, exotic, funny looking animals were swimming and bathing, a few people were crossing the wooden bridge on the pond. All kinds of flowers and plants decorated the park, long, lush trees in all colors blocked the sunlight which was shining in all it's glory. Everyone seemed happy, except Sol who sat on the very same bench as before. He didn't realize the beauty of this place, contrasting everything around him with his dark and gloomy appearence. The birds stopped singing as he sat there consuming himself with depressed thoughts.
A man walked in just looking like any average Joe. his hood pulled up over his head and his head tilted down as well as his hands in his pockets. The mans hair was blond and his build was a nice even solid one seeming more like a sports player or athlete of any contact sport, in addition he'd have a pendant at his chest of a howling wolf the trinket its self made of Silver and the entire outside was a circle symbolizing, eternal.
When he spoke it'd be formal sounding Bretonian accent, probably from more of the higher classes of New London or from an Estate on Cambridge. Which he looked the part. clean and organized in every manner."Uhh Hello, I'm just wondering, is it possible to go see Miss and Mister Holliday, that's if they aren't busy in any manner."He'd smile charmingly toward the woman. his amber eyes holding hers for a moment before dropping back down.
He knew he had a good discuse even so much that he wore make up in some terms to change the apperiance, even though he hated it. the stuff made him looked more olive then tanned though it wasn't much it was enough for some other smaller changes. He hoped just to be able to go and see what was going on. see Miss Hollidays condition and the state of Mister Holliday then leave. He wouldn't trouble them he often was just that.
"If you'd just tell me where I might just be able to go check in on Miss Holliday.. that'd be fine." He was acting respectfully and submissive, he was good at acting and had to be for what his line of work use to be. "though I understand if that's impossible.'

In a conference room:
He took sat forward, getting closer to Anna.
"Listen, we all do things we regret and that we're sorry for, things that if we had it to do over, we would," he explained, "we don't often know why either. It just seems right for the time. So long as we dwell on those thoughts, we let them imprison us. You can't change what you've done already but you can do what's right in the future. Remember, what's right isn't always popular and what's popular isn't always right."
He paused a moment and looked her in the face.
"I didn't say there was nothing that could be done," he explained, "what I said was that my early studies of treatment were with mixed results." He then whispered, "I also don't talk loudly about it for obvious reasons."
He sat back, "Now, Anna, tell me, how much cardi have you had?"
The lady of course had rejected the request and he had opted that he'd just got get something from the Cafe how ever with the slight flicker of mischievousness in his eyes, she had him placed under-watch while he -waited- in such a place. ~Great you probably popped up on the grid on their radar~ Sighing and cursing himself at once, he kept to his corner for sometime, listening to the sounds around him and would start to let time blend.
Anna thought back on the time on Malta. Shaking her head a little.
“I don’t know how much I’ve had. When I left Malta I started to feel sick. A friend of mine
figured it would have been cardamine. I was too stubborn to believe that is was true. He
gave me some without telling me it was just that. I took it. And soon I started to feel
better again. No more headache, no more exhausted feelings. Just better.”
“I don’t seem to need it a lot, yet. I’ve heard stories of people being stuck with it for
twenty-four hours a day. I’m nowhere near that yet. It’s been more than a month ago now
since I had my first dose of it.”
“I take one small dose every fourty-eight hours now, just to keep me from feeling ill again.”

In The Conference Room:
Doc nodded, his question answered.
"Anna, you did the right thing by getting off of Malta. The air there is full of cardamine. The Outcasts depend on it. I will tell you this, based on the simple fact you took small doses, you aren't a full blown addict so I think you can be treated. In being out of a cardamine environment, you've helped yourself."
He then made his request, "I'd like to admit you here for a few days for treatment and with your permission, to be able to monitor the effects of what you have used. If you're good with this, we can start immediately."
Anna having a rather relieved sound in her voice...
'I will stay here, if you say you can 'fix' this then I trust your words.
Though, I have to contact a friend that I'll be away longer than expected.
I'll just send him a simple message. He'll understand.'
'As long as I can go back living a normal life... right?'

Doc nodded with a smile of approval, "Young lady, you've just made the first step in the right direction. Come with me and we'll get you admitted."
Together, they left the room, making small talk as they walked down a hall way. Doc even cracked a couple of harmless jokes to get a smile out of her. Once at reception, he took a clipboard and began writing in her information. As he wrote, he spoke to the receptionist.
"This young lady will be spending a few days with us," he explained, "I want her checked in at rehab and um, give her a nice room with a view. I'm ordering some group activities and medicines as written."
He then handed the clipboard to the receptionist who in turn called for a young man to escort her.
"She's not to be left alone for more than a few minutes at a time and give her the support she needs," he added. He then looked at her reassuringly as he spoke to the staff, "I'll be there as often as possible."
With that, Anna was given her wrist band and escorted to her room.
As Doc turned to leave, the receptionist stopped him, "Doctor, that strange man in the corner, he said he's looking for you."
"Any idea who he is?" he asked as he looked.
"Not a clue," she shrugged.
He just nodded, "Thanks, Steph, I'll handle it."
Cautiously and curiously, he approached the hooded man.
"Hello, Sir," he said, "I understand you're looking for me."
The blond hooded mean more looked like a misfit then anything as he looked up his eyes holding a steady amber as the lips of the man smirk. "Yep.. Believe I was, least I came from your Estate.. told ya were here."He'd give a slight nod as he stood up. "And I swear..... I hate having to hide.. just a little."he'd puff out a little. "Its.. Dangen, Just decided it would better to come if I didn't look like me." He'd sigh as if finally giving into something. "Hows are they both?"At this he'd be referring to both Miss Holiday and Miss Naggers. He could see what Doc looked like.
