Every mod out there encounters the same thing we do, population changes.
As people get bored of the same mod and start to wait for the next version, numbers drop.
They tend to come back and even exceed what was there previously.
Whenever Disco was growing people ran around yelling that it would never stop growing and it is so awesomez and coolz.
Now when the population is dropping slowly due to the wait people are running around yelling it's the end of the bloody world.
Get a grip, if you want people to leave in massive numbers then keep being a negative naysaying arse, people will leave because the atmosphere will be sad and depressive.
If you actually aren't just wanting to be cool or dramatic, remember how this is a natural thing that happens in every human enterprise and that a positive attitude is all it takes for the mod to succeed.
I'm sorry, but yes. Discovery is boring. Most everyone here has done anything and everything there has to be done here, and prolonging the release of 4.86 does nothing but further bore people. The community here is well, frankly, awful. The possible roleplay options have been done already.
I'm sorry bro but it's been years since any sort of release or update or any type of new content. And never before in my five years of playing on the official server have I seen numbers so low, and every month they seem to do nothing but go lower.
I'm not one for doomsday prophecies, but in this case I think it's less of a prophecy and more of a real, tangible proof that people don't want to see.
Stagnation is bad, boring, and ultimately, what would kill this mod.
It wouldn't be sudden, no. It'd be a slow death, as people realize that 4.86 will never be worth the wait.
Also sorry bro you can't blame people leaving over people like me who have a less than optimistic outlook on things, that's just, frankly, silly.

You know, it wouldn't be this way if they invested more in RP.
Like reopened SRP's.
Everyone knows more SRP's would give people hope that their idea might be accepted, and people will want to RP with other people's SRP's.
Its a lot like moving profitable trade routes to dead houses.
Traders come, then Pirates come, then Lawfuls come.
Use that Time to relax and write something for 4.86. You know, you could spend some Time developing a Character for the Things happening in the Update. There is plenty to do, there is plenty going to happen.
Or just spend that Time in Skyrim. Also, next Need for Speed coming next Friday too. Protip: Keep playing Skyrim until ME3, if 4.86 isn't out until then:P
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

( personally - i don t think so - and that there is a critical momentum ... once that momentum is reached - disco will loose members no matter what - due to the principle that only people attract people - not features ) .... in the past - disco has enjoyed that critical momentum - in a positive way... despite not being a mod that offered many new things - ppl flocked to it cause it was populated - and that momentum caused even more ppl to join.
to gain ppl in a downwards trend means you need to do 10 times better than to keep them. - and that.... is hardly possible anymore with a game that old.
there had been plenty of discussions about releasing - both publicly and internal.
again - my own opinion is that it should be released asap - and things that are critically bugged ... to be left out. ( like releasing specific packs to renew the feeling of the mod - around half a year ago ... )
however - the lead devs are in charge of deciding that - and before it was igiss.
i think that we already passed that critical momentum - disco has lost a LOT of people - which are unlikely to come back - other than a quick glance.
if the mod doesn t come before christmas - i seriously join the doomsayers, cause no matter what - even an amazing 4.86 is nothing, when there is no one to populate it anymore.
Aye. They should release what's done. The only problem is, they won't.

That's another thing. The more this mod is prolonged, the more cool new stuff is released and people go play that. And heck. I've been thinking actually.. Why do i even want to play 4.86 when it comes out? I have Skyrim. And no, I'm not just saying this to say it. I really do think this way.
And linkus, yes some more will come back.. but.. It has to be really soon that it's released, or more people will leave. And the thing is, when someone comes back and plays 4.86 if they see '50/200' online rather than what we used to have '200/200' odds are they will pick another game.
