It would appear we now share a common enemy, in Kogen and his xenophobic minions. Perhaps two, if the beating of the war drums beyond Orkney is to be believed. While the IMG might have decided against making a stand, we're not so easily subdued. In our long journey we have learned the hard way, that in order to preserve our ideals, it is often necessary to fight for them. To date we have fought and repelled several Gallic raiding parties and obtained valuable experience in dealing with them. Both with swords and daggers in a manner of speaking.
We have had our one misunderstanding in the past. But times have changed. Living in the past denies oneself a future. And I can safely say, the Republic would sooner cease to be, than learn to speak French. In short, I am willing to negotiate closer political and military cooperation between the Colonial Republic, and the house of Bretonia. Together, we will be better equipped to repel, and drive back the Kusari aggressor. And should those Frenchmen come, we'll handle those together as well.

Mister President,
We're faced with a gathering storm, enemies abound...
I agree with you it is time to put aside our differences for the good of our people, and for the good of Sirius as a whole.
I suggest that the Colonial Remnant Draft a proposed treaty, my diplomats will review it. It should detail joint operations, and a mutual defense pact. I am sure the politicians in Bretonia will want their piece of this, but I agree with you on this one.
I would like to propose one more thing, that we appoint a Supreme Allied Commander for the Tau front, if we are to be co-ordinating the line of battle, it would do to look at a comparative ranking chart and one clear military leader...
There may be additional allies to this cause, some of them unexpected. I will request one thing, that you keep an open mind, as will we.
In Service to her Majesty,
The Duke of Norfolk
Fleet Admiral and Commander in Chief of the Bretonian Armed Forces
Bretonian Armed Forces.

[font=Segoe Script][color=#000000]And so after a little while of observation and reorganization, I finally have a sensible offer:
It would seem, that the Gallic Royals's main axis of advance runs through Bretonia, all the Tau-connected systems are under attack.
I'd like to help you out there, stabbing the Gallic lines in the back and skirmirshing... Tactical issues can and should be left to the field commanders though... not politicians. Can't however dispatch anything flying my colors without your aapprovall. That would be utterly bad form...
Summa Sumarum, I am offering a defensive alliance for the duration of the war against Gallia. I'd very much prefer it to be bilateral, but knowing your strategic situation, it's far easier for me to creep in from their rear, than for you to break through their front lines.
//So to explain, I'd like to have the right to enter Bretonian systems, which are on the path of Gallic raiding so that there's more guns pointed at those raids. Came to Leeds once already and while it was fun wrecking that Valor, it was sorda meh. couldn't stay and enjoy the victory with yuz.
We'll discuss how to cut the bear's hide up once he's dead.
