I humbly ask that the Official Bounty Hunter Guild approve of my efforts and the efforts/mission of the Templar group. We are not here to destroy all pirates on site, instead we are here to provide safe travel between House Space for traders and miners.
If you want to provide escorts for hire - cool. That's perfectly within what is acceptable for bounty hunters, and is even written into the ID.
If you want to sit in a sector to keep the piracy down there - as long as the people you're attacking are either already bountied or actively pirating - that's cool and is well within the ID.
It's just that the quote that Ursus made is totally incorrect. Bounty Hunters are NOT Sirius Police. While we work WITH all of the police factions in the houses of Sirius (note that I am omitting Gallia from this - we'll all probably end up shooting them before this is over), we only have authority in sectors controlled by the houses that are granted by the houses.
That means that in Liberty or Liberty controlled space, you have the authority that Liberty has given you. In Bretonian space, you have the authority that Bretonia has given you, and so on for Kusari and Rheinland. You can also claim bounties from corporations as well, as long as the bounty does not conflict with the laws of the house that you are in. For example, if a Kusari corporation places a bounty on Junkers, you can only claim that bounty in Kusari space, or in 'unclaimed' space. Claiming a Kusari bounty on Junkers in Texas is against Liberty law.

Ursus, your enthusiasm is refreshing. I think that for what you are seeking to be able to do, a Vigilante ID would be most appropriate. This is why I have asked that Independents also partake in the Templar mission.
Feel free to explore the Vigilante ID and engage in the freedoms it provides. I will follow the rules and restrictions set forth by Agmen of Eladesor who has politely considered the Templar mission under the Bounty Hunter code. I will adhere to what he stated is allowable - it suffices for my mission. To refresh our minds, he said the following "If you want to sit in a sector to keep the piracy down there - as long as the people you're attacking are either already bountied or actively pirating - that's cool and is well within the ID."
This serves the needs of my particular Templar mission. There can be differing opinions as to what we do - just bear in mind that to make more than an ample amount of enemies is to eventually create such a conflict that the mission becomes unfeasable. I try to maintain a sort of "peace" between pirates and the trade lanes since we do all live and operate in so many of the same places. ;)
I saw the recent Bounty Hunter debate thread and I still feel that my Roleplaying mission is proper and within the guidelines. To also alleviate the worries regarding "bounties", I have a regular Trader donor that pays me to conduct my patrols. I also, thru informing others of the Templar mission, have received donations while on patrol. I also, at times, get paid by wayward traders whom I have assisted in preventing their robbery by pirates. Its a simple system and misison that brings me peace and enjoyment. I also hope that lawful organizations and house factions also appreciate the efforts! ;)
Welcome [BH]Templar-Falcon and [BH]Templar-Winchester!! :yahoo:
We are operating out of Sheffield Station in Manchester right now. If you want to organize a patrol operation, please notify us here in this thread! We need to let folks know we are out there. ;)
Alright, I wish you good luck guys and good hunting, but may I please ask you humbly to make sure all your members will act just...a tad more then "engaging all red i see" because I really can't make the diff between the players who do that and the NPC...
