He nodded slowly at Miller, wondering what that 'machine' will do and what she was actually planning. Against his will to ask questions, he sighed quietly and moved away to the computer where he should enter the codes. He took a look at Kate, before he would enter the codes. He nodded again as the artificial intelligence spoke to him.
"Right...let's get this working....whatever it is...", he mumbled his last words quietly, shaking his head slightly about the thought to use a machine he doesn't understand.
Moving a hand over the control panel where he should enter the codes.
"468, 3, 1, 19...and 314....just keep alive...", he thought to himself while typing in the numbers.
He confirmed his input with pressing the button next to the numbers on the control panel. He stepped back a bit and watched Kate and what would happen.
As Lennox validated the data inputs, they all could hear a small humming that seemed to come from the whole facility itself. The metal growling originated from the generators that hadn't been powered on for more than a year. At the same time, the ceiling of the room opened in half, revealing a machinery that positioned itself all around the chair.
"Warning. Illegal parameters detected. Evacuate immediatly." were the words heard from the Lazarus AI.
It didn't seem to stop the process, which now could not be aborted anymore. The system, composed of a huge reactor coming down to the chair, was also made of several propellers that began rotating around the chair at high speed, creating a noticeable wave of blue energy all around the chair.
They all could hear the voices to a different extent, but not perceive where they were coming from. Lennox however, due to his previous aborted infestation, knew what was going on. It was a connection to the mindshare itself, in a confused state.
He held his hand against his forehead when the blue energy got more intense in it's power, letting him see visions and hearing roaring thoughts of every single connected Slomon K'Hara, just different than usual. With the other hand holding onto the control station to prevent not falling on the ground, the neural activity in his head began to rise and rise with every second that passed. He was also able to feel and to hear Kate's presence in the field of neural energy in his head. She was fighting a war against her 'other side', the nomads that were constantly trying to convince her.
Johan tried to lock his own mind for the Nomads themselves, trying to make it as hard as possible for them to use anything that might bring an advantage. Looking up at the machine, the light burned into his eyes like fire but not letting him see Miller. She was kind of covered with the blue energy, though, he could see her in his mind for some reason. With the increasing presence of neural energy all over the base, he was able to see a lot of things. Things about memories, feelings, experiences and so on. Belonging to the Nomads themselves or others, he still was trying to get rid of that, to prevent giving the Nomads access to his mind. But, though, knowing it wouldn't work due to their telepatic superiority, he had to knee down on the ground while concentrating on his mind.
~Be strong...fight. Remember the light sides of the human kind....don't waste memories for nothing...keep alive...~
'Thinking' more out of instinct than out of a logical thinking, it didn't seem sure for him if it was directed to himself or to other -humans- in that lake of endless mind stream.
Mantear felt surprise colliding against the void she'd built, and dissipating quickly. She was in control, she had to be. Her voice was calm as she started issuing orders.
"You, keep all the emergency exits open. We might have to get out of here in a hurry, if this thing goes awry. Hunter, is the situation manageable yet? See if you can find out what's causing the evacuation protocols to kick in. It could just be a minor malfunction, but cover all bases."
Hunter just stood there for a few moments, looking at the display.
"Hunter, Move!", Mantear said a little more loudly.
Ellie snapped out of her stupor, her fingers flying across the holographic keyboard. Whitemane, meanwhile, opened up a path to the outside. Ellie looked over the displays with stunning speed, she glanced at Mantear.
"Situation is manageable; I suggest all unneeded personell leave immediately though."
Ellie glanced at Kate.
"You ok there Miller? Bark once for yes, sprout tentacles from your mouth if no."
"Attention. Burst commencing in three, two, one." said the Lazarus AI.
At this very moment, they all could feel as if time became slower. Slowly, it seemed like a powerful force was dragging them out of their own body. To a different extent, they'd find themselves either in a space they could not comprehend, but for those who were more used to the psi emissions of the nomads, they could realise they were linked with the mindshare, seeing Sirius as the nomads did, from hundreds of point of view at the same time. They could not perceive time. It could have been a second or days, everything was so different.
Meanwhile, the symbiosis had begun. The mind and body of Kate Miller began the slow process of fusioning with the incubi, which would result in the creation of the first true total hybrid. The nomads and spectres had tried to achieve a perfect hybridation in the past, but many resulted in failures. The very few hybridations that succeeded were practiced on lab engineered test subjects, who happens to not be able to establish a link with the mindshare, or decay extremely fast and live not more than a few years.

They realised what Kate had done. Using the timers of the Lazarus Project to her convinience, she had been able to leave completely her body into the mindshare, and send herself back into her body instantly that was now one with the incubi, creating a massive arrival of informations that kicked out the nomad spirit that was part of the incubi to receive all the informations.
They suddenly all came back to reality, barely understanding what happened. The Lazarus Project had already stopped, with Kate Miller laying on the floor. However, if it worked or not was still unknown to them.
Being caught in a seeming endless shockwave of upcoming feelings, from the mindshare itself and himself, he was completely out of his body, psychologically, having his difficulties to stay conscious because he is not used to so much neural activity in his receptive, sensitive mind. But something he has never seen before was the view on Sirius with that different glance. His instincts told him, that he was moving through the past. He saw the nomads asleep, before there were the humans.
Like an endless stream of energy, the 'visions' didn't stop and he could feel the Nomads themselves 'watching' him while he was there. The roaring 'conversation' between the nomads and the Kate was clearly hearable for him, letting him be amazed. He never thought it would be possible to fool the Nomads like that. But though, trying to isolate his memories of the mindshare it was an interesting feeling though. But while trying to get out of that, he realized he suddenly was 'back' in his body. The connection was lost and he looked around as he stood up. Still being in some kind of aftereffect of the huge amounts of neural energy, that was 'teleporting' their minds to different place, he looked at Kate who was laying on the ground. He tried to walk towards her, being hard for him to walk with these aftereffects.
As he finally made it to her, he kneed down, touching her neck with two fingers to feel her pulse. He sighed, sounding relieved, and took his hand behind her back and pulled it off the ground a bit. Looking at her, he closed his eyes briefly.
~You...are...surprising me again...~
Opening his eyes again, he looked around for the others.
Ellir had no clue what happened. Confused, she checked the readouts.
Everything was dead. Whitemane was nonresponsive, her computerwas dead, her equioment dead. She took a few deep breaths, taking inthesight of Miller on the floor, Lennox bent over her. Sheshook her head and stumbled over, checking Miller's oulse herself andfeeling her forehead. She seemed fine, but they had no way of knowing if Lazarus had worked.
"Lennox, help me grt her on the table. Marines! I need a detail in here now!"
Ellie glanced at the chair briefly. What the hell had happened?
Mantear was watching, with hands folded behind her back, when that happened.
The void nearly shattered at the sudden inflow of sensations and information.
Focus, Tigraine. Focus, She kept telling herself, holding the walls of the void up in the face of the mental attack. The emotions kept battering away at it, but Mantear held on to her calm, because on the other side lay chaos.
After what seemed an eternity, the sensations finally faded. Mantear slumped and gripped a table for support. That had taken a lot out of her. Looking around wearily, she saw Miller slumped on the floor. When Lennox nodded and confirmed that she was alive, Mantear did not waste time.
"Scientists, hook her up and monitor life signs. As soon as she's capable, bring her to the interrogation chambers. And if you could, explain what just happened here."
Not trusting her legs anymore, she slumped in a chair and waited for their responses.
While still looking at Kate for any other signs of life, he looked up at Ellie, then to Mantear. As he looked back at Ellie, he nodded slowly, still being affected by Lazarus and it's results on Miller. But already getting the control over his body back, he took his other hand below her legs, letting his arm move under her popliteal while letting his other hand rest on her back. He then slowly lifted her up from the bottom while standing up.
Still feeling a bit unsure on his feet, he looked at the table where she was scanned before the whole process. He looked over to Ellie and nodded briefly.
"At least...she is alive...I think her plan worked..that's what I think..."
He walked with careful steps towards the table, letting Kate down slowly after he made it there. Ellie was following him, preparing for scanning Miller.
