Okay... that's an interesting discussion. My opinion on it...
If the stuff which is already in game says there's a treaty already in place, then I'd stick with that and not bother writing it out and foruming it up at the moment.
Should it appear to be necessary later on, then let it can happen, but leave things more fluid for now. Leaviong things more fluid will allow the faction's behaviour to adapt and change as befits the situation. This is important, given it's an entirely new NPC faction, and frankly, folks are going to have to learn how best to play it.
Refusing to cooperate in your RP, with your "inrp" allies, by writing up a treaty you should have already had written, and falling back on "its there, I dont gotta explain it" just sounds like powergaming to me. Especially when that gives you free reign to do what you want.
I dont support this as an official faction, if you dont plan to work and play well with others.
Like it or not, Ronin are guests in Bretonia, and you play by the rules - Kogen is as much an Emperor as Dane Summers is, and the KNF trapped in Bretonia are vulnerable of being crushed between both sides. It wouldnt be the smartest decision, but it would be humnan nature. Dont expect the armed forces of the nation youve committed war crimes against, to just up and be your friends when a bigger threat appears. They might just decide to watch and laugh while that bigger threat murders you.
And saying "thats the way the story is lalala" doesnt help your case either. Our duty is to work together to make RP, not to sit there and pretend its unimportant.
As I see it, a great deal of the issue around the lack of an rped treaty is the lack of player rp in general.
There is, as there was on the teaser, one speech on the topic of this faction, and not so much as a discussion on how the cleverest gem of interest in the faction will be played out. We know your goals are, as were, to fight the gallics, as you're suddenly rather chummy with the bretonians you've been invading for rather a long time. We'd very much like a clear plan, and all we have is your current end point, which, frankly, is not a plan, and is boring to us. It says "will pew pew the gallicks, kaythainks"
This is a new faction. A new faction for a new npc faction. Every other npc faction that has been introduced first had a longstanding player faction exemplifying its roleplay for the community to wrap their head around. In fact, most every faction starts as an unofficial, and builds steam to officialdom. The exception to the first rule is the gallic factions, and they were required to not declare official for a duration as a trial period.
The faction post has lots of bells and whistles, (some of which are still not working) but it is seriously lacking in actual content. Which is to say, all you've told us about yourself is that you're a paramilitary out to kill gallics. Fine...but not enough.
You back up this lack of substance with a refusal to engage in rp, admittedly of a sort that you find repugnant. But it is, of course, a request that you engage in rp, and you've not even gone so far as to say that your ingame rp will be worth the wait.
You may not be directing this post at me, but I am part of the audience, and frankly, I am less than impressed with how you have presented yourself.
Our question is how, exactly, are you going to RP?
Isn't that the whole reason this request is open to public scrutiny?

My opinion on this is along that of JihadJoe. If in lore it is said that there is a treaty in place then it should be left at that. Forcing treaty RP for this IMO will lead to powergaming. We've seen it in the past.
Treaty RP's ARE a necessity for something not covered in lore. The Port Jackson treaty is a good example of that.

The mod has been out for 2 days.
The server is not stable enough to allow proper gameplay.
Your faction doesn't really exist yet.
You are refusing to roleplay with your new allies, because
Quote:This is exactly the kinda crap I expect to come from Bretonia,
You are applying for official status.
I think the ORI had a better application than this.
At least they didn't refuse to roleplay with people, simply because it may require conceding to something for once.
Oh and they actually flew in space for more than a few hours before applying to become official.
Really, this is the kinda thing that Discovery eats n00bs alive for doing.
the server may be crashy but at least the general atmosphere is much better there. I've been playing on my ronin with another ronin member and we roleplayed with a member of the 13th BAF faction and we all three had lots of fun.

Play the game, folks.
Ignore the fact that in the lore it makes it pretty clear the GMG and Kusari had a treaty regarding their territory in Honshu. Ignore the fact that Zelot demanded the GMG players role play out a treaty, which was at a later date used to force the role play of both factions away from the story line.
We'll ignore the fact that what Zelot is currently complaining and afraid of happening to him, is the same thing he has done to other players on this server. He is right, it will likely be used to start hostilities against his faction at a later date, he knows that because he has used the same tactic in the past.
The story line doesn't say the cease fire is never broken. It just says there is one. Logic would dictate that both sides would often break the cease fire for varying reasons due to the recent past. The Ronin's main weakness is their reliance on Bretonia and we already have West coming in and saying they plan to remedy that weakness by having Samura supply the Ronin and thus make the factions main weakness moot.
Its power gaming. Fulfill your role. Work with the Bretonian player base (West claims you are) to form this treaty. I agreed you shouldn't be forced to sign one that they wrote themselves, you should have some input into it also.
Anyways, I wish you luck with the faction bid. It is an interesting faction due to its situation; I hope you capitalize on that.
Main weakness you say, yes I agree with you, but that weakness can be easely exploited by bretonia players, like "we supply you, you will do what we told, if won't.. we will cut our supplies." That's why we will be searching for alternatives. Samura have all reasons to supply us, so why not?
Powergaming... uhm no, key weakness cannot be main for all duration of time, don't you agree? As I told we won't tell, "oh we don't need your supplies", we will slowly get over from Full dependans (first month maybe two) to half or even less later.
Yes we are working(if it can be called like that) Dab gave us his proposal (3 main features that somehow growed into 8 later.. with bunch of not needed restrictions) we didn't liked that restrictions, We gave him counter proposal that covered all what need to be covered.. but no answer followed (as I know).
It's only few days out.. we even didn't met grn ingame to start -DO- something... we will see how it will grow in future.
