Yes, and it brings up other implications. More specifically why you're constantly referring to the storyline as some sort of bible. It's because you had a hand in writing it. In which case, it's interesting that there's no reference to any concessions that the Ronin had to make in order to get that treaty signed.

Maybe because Bretonia isnt in a position to pass up any help defending its house against the massive hoard of beasts already tearing through their territory and utterly massacring their forces.
' Wrote:Not so sure about that when you consider the old government is fighting against Gallia and the new government has made peace and is trading with Gallia.
Not if the Old government is saying "we wont sign a treaty saying we dont own your stuff, we are going to attack you again"

Also, West is not refusing to sign a treaty. I am. Why? A treaty has already been signed. It is in the storyline.
What are the terms?

Yes, but you need Bretonia more than Bretonia needs you. You're in their space, you need their resources, you need their permission. If it was Bretonia in Kusari space I'd still say the same.
So, let me get this straight. Bretonia is -SO- eager to fight with the people that not too long ago wanted their destruction and are -SO- desperate that they're not going to try to gain from your situation? That they're going to let you just mooche off them with no benefit to Bretonia apart from the simple PROMISE of aid?

Ha. Ha.
I am sure if your mother was about to be shot by a robber, you would dictate terms of letting them help to someone trying to help because you had previously had a conflict with them.
First of all, that example has zero relevance to what we're talking about.
When we're talking about Bretonia and Kusari it's an entirely different story because we're talking POLITICS. We're talking in the long-term not for a single person but nations.
Now then, the current leadership of Kusari is much more willing to go with peace rather than war simply for "honors" sake. Why would Bretonia want to help the leader of the old government, who had a hand in killing so many Bretonians without demanding something in return?
But if we're going to use your example, suppose the guy helping you is known to have committed warcrimes gleefully? How do you know he's not gonna just kill you all and later claim that he tried to help but he was 'too slow'?
Bretonia needs a moral boost.
What better moral boost than to kill the one man responsible for destroying all that you hold dear?
Guns and ships can be made, the people are what matter.
I would've put Kogen on trial in Bretonia already, to answer for the horrific crimes he is responsible for.
Instead he's getting Bretonian goods, made by those he ordered to be killed.
Samura likes money.
Would Samura be willing to pump billions, very publicly, into an enemy of the current Kusari and Gallic governments? Risking contracts with 2 entire houses?
Aside from the obvious logic flaws in this "They need us!" / "No need to write a treaty encase it restricts us!", I'd like to point out something:

On a diffrent note, what is the Ronin's view of Liberty? Howabout their thoughts on the Rhea Archive, and the implications about the war of Old Sol within the Archive?
Also, for people who are confused as to how two groups of people that were enemies could suddenly become friends, and work together against a common enemes, well, did any of you fools watch Farscape? That old Sci-Fi show with the awesome puppets? Anyway, if you did watch that show, you'll remember the episode where John Crichton and D'Argo were on that wierd ass desert planet, being pursuied by those wolf-like bounty hunters, but they kept butting heads due to a rivalry between them? After a while, they had to sit eachother down, and basically say "cut the ****, this isn't going to work; we can't just forget our rivalry and start being friends." D'Argo replyed "No... But we can be allies." After that, they stopped trying to force themselves to be friends with one-another, which was causing more problems than it solved, and instead worked as allies, holding a mutual respect for one-another which is only gained after fighting against someone for a long period of time. If you watched that episode, you'll remember that Crichton and D'Argo were at eachother's throats in the beginning, but only when they agreed to stop trying to feign freindship and instead simply focus on working together as brothers-in-arms, that they can finally defeat the bounty hunters that are trying to kill them. If you didn't watch that episode, well then, you probably have no idea what the heck I am talking about, so... Yeh.
Anyway, my point is this; Stop caring about the bloody treaty for, say, 5 minutes, and start formulating tactics on how you can use the Kusari dessie with an escort of Templars to rip apart a wave of Valors, and you'll find that you develope a working relationship that makes it alot easier to solve mutual problems.
-This has been an angry, off-topic rant, brought to you by your local newb.
Enough with the treaty stuff... let the players involved deal with it among themselves.
What I want to know is what your stance is with Corsairs seeing as its likely you will come across them quite a bit.
Would you welcome some discreet supplies "found" floating in space as well as some wonderful magical artifacts that posses male enhancement properties? Or would you brush us off and ignore us? Or rat us out to the BAF?
Not at all, a fight implies there's any bad blood involved. I certainly don't dislike Zelot, but I don't think he's right either.
It's more of a heated debate.
You have a point, you really do, however the treaty is more then just a treaty. It's what's going to dictate the strengths, weakness's and abilities of the Ronin Faction. Without it, for all intents and purposes, the Ronin can claim whatever they want and we can't refute it.
This is, in a nutshell what's going on.
"We have a treaty, okay?"
"Sure, what does it say?"
"Don't worry about it, just remember we have one."
"Sure, but what does it say?"
"I said don't worry about it, it's written right here we have a treaty."
"Alright, what do you gain?"
"Oh, we get to dock on your space, you'll give us supplies, let us fly around and do whatever."
"So what do we get out of it."
"Stop asking, I said we have a treaty and that's that."
' Wrote:Enough with the treaty stuff... let the players involved deal with it among themselves.
That'd work out just fine, if Zelot was actually willing to work it out. As it stands, he's basically going "Nope, because that one sentence says we already have a treaty, who cares what the terms are."
