A barge hijacking: [Corsairs] vs. [Bretonia]:

This is a work in progress: Date and time to be decided.
Event Summary:
A critical malfunction on the barge [CSA]Petrified.Elephant has resulted in its inability to navigate, and it is currently roaming space completely blind.
The vessel is currently reported to be astray and roaming dark space, destination Bretonia,while a repair ship tries to locate it and fix the fault.
The Corsairs get wind of this fact by a mayday alert picked up on an open channel.
Determining to blacken the eye of the Bretonia military escort sent to retrieve it, the Corsairs plan to hijack the vessel in plain sight of the escort.
An attack force of Corsair vessels is sent to intercept the vessel before the Bretonians can secure the vessel or return it to base. They must bring down its shields, transfer a boarding party, and escort it to a 'safe zone'.
The Barge will contain 39,800 units of Niobium, and 100 navy marines.
The Corsairs must upload 100 pirates to take over the barge, in 2 waves of 50 pirates. An onboard battle shall ensue: If the Pirates upload less than 100 they shall be overwhelmed and taken hostage. If they upload the full 100 pirates, they can take the marines hostage, and have control of the barge They will then try to take it out of Bretonian space without damage (Somewhere predefined as 'off the map').
Neither side may destroy the barge if they have forces/hostages on the barge.
Prizes: The barge holds 39,900 tons of Niobium, which shall go to the winning group, and has a net value of 400,000,000 in planet Denver.
OORP Notes:
In the event of server disruptions during this event - or instability that causes any vital players to drop (such as the barge pilot, or any of the major event leaders:
'¢ Players are expected to return to the event location at earliest opportunity and shall waitwithout re-engaging each other.
'¢ [Corsair leadership] and [Bretonia Leadership] shall then come to a joint agreement on when the event shall resume, and this shall be signaled in System chat.
'¢ 'Major solar disruption, causing a total communications wipeout' shall be the reason given for the pause.
'¢ Players may role-play their systems remaining off during the waiting period, and also of coming back online prior to reengagement.
At any time, [Corsairs] or [Bretonia] may need to rebalance the scenario by causing an RP event to remove ships; for example asking the pilot of a cruiser to simulate critical engine failure to remove it from the battle, if it is unbalancing the event.
Plan of action:
Stage 1: [CSA] communications channel preparations:
[CSA] action: [CSA] contact the Bretonia military that one of their barges has experienced critical issues and is dead in space.
A distress signal is sent out over general comms. from the vessel, asking any and all to locate and assist the barge as it makes its way through dark space.
[CSA] ask for immediate fleet assistance to secure the craft as a precaution while they send a repair ship out to meet the vessel 'somewhere in Bretonia'.
Stage 2: Bretonia Communication channel preparations:
[Bretonia] action: [Bretonia] acknowledges and prepares the escort fleet. (Bretonia decides the point of engagement, and the scale of engagement).
Stage 3: Corsair Communication channel preparations.
Corsair action: [CC] are informed via RP story (Ricks bar, Casablanca) that the vessel is in trouble'¦ and repairs are expected to take a week, and also the scale of the escort.
[CC] inform [Corsairs] groups and request a raiding party, offering the resources of the newly enforced Casablanca base in Omega 47 to maintain the vessel, and stage this operation from.
Corsair action: [Corsairs] Inform all corsair groups of the plan to make covert operation. Factions are asked to field ships for defense, attack and boarding parties.
Stage 4: The Battle
Bretonia shall provide a standard guard onboard the ship, and maintain a wing of protective vessels. Size of fleet is at the discretion of Bretonia.
Corsairs shall attack the Barge and attempt to board.
Criteria for success:
Corsairs must upload their raiding parties to the barge. This requires that 100 corsairs are traded to the barge. Barge pilot will not accept the trade unless his shields are brought to zero and he experiences hull damage (the equivalent of a forced boarding party gaining entry.
A full 10 minutes of RP must occur on the barge to represent the onboard battle between marines and corsairs'¦ Corsairs will gain the upper hand only if the Corsair support fleet stays with the barge and wards off attack.
Bretonia shall co-ordinate the support fleet, and decide upon size and makeup of that fleet. The fleet must successfully ensure that the boarding party is delivered to the barge. Corsairs must not overwhelm that escort on numbers (Balance between groups is critical).
Resources required
[CC] shall field the following vessels/ resources:
1. The barge
2. 100 corsair pilots as cargo for the boarding parties.
3. 100 marines as cargo for the barge, serving as defense force.
4. 39900 Niobium Ore (The spoils of war).
5. A repair ship for the Corsair attack fleet, to serve as batts and bots reinforcement.
6. At least one fighter OR bomber OR other vessel required by [Corsairs]
