Is it only me that thinks the war is very strange as it is?
A few problems:
- traders (even NPCs) pass right trough the battlezone just about all the time
- you can still meet Bretonian traders in the middle of Kusari and vice versa
- the BMM bases and operations in Taus seem completely unaffected by Kusari taking over most of Tau31 with their only supply route
- this is just an error but.....Kusari/Bretonia are not even listed as enemies in each other's infocards
---------------------------------
Which way to go:
1. Total war
Title says it all.
- no shipments, no traders (even PCs) allowed to pass trough, shot on sight if they do
- KNF ID and BAF ID reflects the war
So they are allowed to request traders to drop cargo (not money) in each others space. I love QCPs roleplay and it's simply incredible that they are getting told by players and admins that they cannot do it with BAF ID.
- some effect on BMM (and IMG) in Taus.. maybe IMG taking over something?
2. Cold war
Some sort of treaty that freezes current status or settles on something else.
- Stopping the fighting while some sort of blockade remains (see North vs South Korea, or China vs Taiwan)
- Stopping the fighting without blockade but with some sort of forbidden zone for both Kusari and Bretonian forces (see Rheinland vs GMG)
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
From my point of view, I'd like to see all traders with NPC faction IDs.
It's kinda tough trying to work out their allegiances when almost all are carrying the generic ID and aren't tagged!
Edit: Or their tag says police or navy. That's probably more common. Who's police and navy is what I'd like to know.
The tag/ID thing irritates me no end. As an LSF officer-in-training (transferred from the Liberty Navy) I have to wade through this a lot.
Me, I'd like to see total war. How bad could it be?

Both offer possibilities for some very interesting RP opportunities. Total war is obvious: blasting enemy traders coming through, all-out assaults, that sort of thing.
But Cold War...now that's interesting. Subtlety is the name of the game...covert operations deep within enemy territory trying to dodge contact with the PCs in the area (have to set up RP events for that to make sure the defending PCs are actually around to hunt), the occasional escalation, rising tensions...I think it has a LOT of RP potential. Not as much PvP as the Total War option, but I think RP-wise it'd be a better choice.
IMG's in a pretty slippery situation. A few weeks ago that bi**a$$ battleship blasted away a whole section off Holman. There were many IMG casualties. Bretonia would most gladly take over IMG bases in the Taus and make them BMM. So IMG seems to be on their own here.
If as Mjolnir said IMG should take something over - it would be the creation of a free zone from tau-37 to 31, governed entirely by the IMG. Rheinland wanted that to happen during the summit in Liberty and methinx, that if RM gets mixed in the war, blasts Liberty away in Bering/Hudson, IMG might get what Rheinland suggests.
Lancer has, as usual, hit the nail on the head. RP opportunities for a cold war are huge. I can't say that I've come across too many KNF, or other Kusari faction pilots in the past few weeks, though that may just be because of the times I'm active.
For whatever it's worth, my vote is cold war. I have just recently been reinstated within the Kusarite Empire (and again, I'm the most powerful female therein... I have a complex, methinks? Anywho) and then get bedridden for 2 months. If we go and escalate to Total War, well, it would be sad for me to return and be forced to turn in my chopsticks for some of Blunt's metal spikey things.
And to reiterate upon Lancer's statement already, a cold war is always more fun than a regular war. Because... no one wins a cold war! It's like a staring contest between cats. While infinitely fun to watch, it's just a matter of time before one of them swats the other in the face.
So yes. Cold war. It even gives the capacity for some under-the-table dealings between the corporations of Kusari and Bretonia... I dunno. It just sounds more fun.
Plus: I dun wanna log on one day and see New Tokyo being barraged by BAFs.
Yup. Cold war. IMG can't really be Neutral, but shouldn't be touched by either.
That means, BAF can't chase them out for the BMM because that would lead to a full scale war with KNF.
And they don't want that, if they want to keep it cold.
Holman crisis is possible though xD
