sounds like you got your answer in the "make it fighter/freighter only" suggestion. but ursus' post was what I was gonna say. compromise. don't get rid of it, people going from omega to omicron still have their path that takes less time than the sigma way. just move it out enough to make it balanced. make the system bigger like you have done with magellan if necessary to fit it in the distance.
so I recently started exploring Coronado. I must say you're all doing a wonderful job.
so I recently started exploring Koeln. I must say you're all doing an amazing job.
some time ago I explored Rousillon. Impressive. Particularly the music on the planet that was a nice surprise.
so I recently started exploring Omega-55. LOL... NOMADS. LOTS AND LOTS OF NOMADS. SHOOTING THINGS. I GOT THE HELL OUT OF THERE. (and I was thinking, jeez I can't remember what that one was from the news. I hope I don't run into a nomad system)
recently started exploring Omega-41. what did you guys do to the star? that new effect there, that's impressive.
' Wrote:Keeping lawful traffic in the lanes and thus focussing the gameplay on the "main routes" is a good goal. Especially the Sigmas can do with a bit more traffic (remember S13 and frankfurt being piracy hotspots and tense to travel through?).
I'd rather have more people in the main areas of the game than people sneaking around somewhere.
And if they decide to sneak around somewhere (as it is safer), they should have to buy that safety with more time.
So... ye... I like your proposal.
But as I am not directly affected, I am curious whether there are some reasons why it should remain there after AD made the case against it.
This guy said it. MORE ACTIVITY IN FRANK/SIG13!
While your at it, can you remove the Sig13/Berlin JH?

I only really see two solutions to keep House traders in House space, without deleting/moving jump holes.
1. Add a line to House trader ID's:
- "May not use jump holes." Which inRP are 'unstable' and dangerous.
- "May not go outside the Zone of Influence of the faction this ID represents."
...Or something like that, which to me is a little extreme, but within RP. Corporations wouldn't allow their pilots to risk lives, property, and profits by going outside the company ZOI on some hair brained tour through pirate territory. Would they?
2. Increase lane speed. This is the brilliant and ultimate solution. Make lanes so appealing that traders wouldn't want to use jump holes at all, unless they absolutely had to in order to get where they are going.

You're wrong.
' Wrote:26. Neutral warships (including Gunboat and Gunship classes) are not welcome in Corsair territory. Unless they have the Council of Elders' approval, neutral warships should be escorted out of our space and the use of force is authorized if they refuse to comply.
**The term "Warship" is used to refer to ships of Destroyer, Cruiser, Battle-cruiser, Battleship, Dreadnought and Carrier class.
*** "Core corsair territory" refers to the systems of Omicron Gamma, Omicron Theta, Omicron Lambda, Omicron Eta (south of minefield), Omicron 91, Omicron 93, Omicron 94, Omicron 96, Omega 5, Omega 41, Omega 47, Omega 49 and Omega 50.
About the jump hole, just remove the damn thing already
' Wrote:I'd rather relocate a couple of holes and add a couple of minutes, over any of the other alternatives you've mentioned. Omega-41 hole in Theta can be moved another 30k easily.
Like I said, we need 130K in distance for this to work by purely moving holes. Which makes just moving them unfeasable.
' Wrote:Or how about leave it as it is? It's fine right now.
By deleting Theta hole in 41/gamma gives corsairs more advantage in defense. This idea seems Corsair Biased which I highly don't like. And Theta becomes a dead end system for omicron ZOI only factions (Nomad ID *NOT KHARA* Core ID ... )
And you forget the fact lolpirates lolsairs lolhessians will pirate.
Not sure what you're actually trying to say with this. Defense against who? Who that is hostile to the Corsairs, is using that Omega 41/Theta hole right now? Hessians? They have no business in the Omicrons. RM? House corp traders? Same deal. Zoners? They can strike a deal with Sairs - who ARE the dominant force in those systems, a fact no amount of anti-sair playerships will change - by offering some food or supplies for safe passage. Zoners/GMG on the Deuterium highway? Can route over the lanes, either going by Dublin, over Omega7/Omega5 to reach the south, or over the Tau way.
If things were fine now, this topic would not have existed.
' Wrote:The Omega 41 / Theta Jump Hole is already barricaded by the giant neutron star in the center of the system. I'd say that's already an effective deterrent, no need to make things more complicated.
Travelling the entire system from furthest hole to furthest hole in a transport (AU8), takes maybe 1 bar of health. The radiation just prevents snubs from lingering there, actually reducing the chance of encountering a hostile bomber.

Already have, per request of our trade guy. Same with the second Frankfurt/Hamburg hole

Whilst this change is beneficial to the corsairs and the moving of trade to the actual core systems.
I support this alright however,
what I fear might come to life, freeport 5 will only become interesting for mercs, BHG and hessians as it at the moment already is. Freeport 5 used to be a smugglers hub between the omicrons and omegas. If you are removing the hole there is no existance right for this zoner station other then just being a station that everyone and their grandmothers can stash their ships on for gamma raiding..
