We're building a cloak. The only thing that is missing is 2 battleship brains. The cloak has already been promised to someone (me). Neither Erec (the base owner) or I knew what would happen when the cloak is completed. Specifically we did not know whether the base would put the new item up for sale at a dollar as soon as it was completed.
Therefore we did not want to leave the base in a state where it would buy BS brains (from someone else allowed to dock at the base) until Erec and I were in the base and ready to intercept the cloak when the item was completed.
Edit: Er, well we had a small problem but it seems to have resolved itself, the fighter brains came back. So I guess I just want to know now, whether the equipment dealer will stock the cloak as soon as its done or if Erec will have to give it a buy price first like any other commodity.
Aaand it doesn't seem to be eating the nomad BS brain we do have..
Recipy must require more nomad remains - that's what "Out of Stock" signifies.
Can you post a screeny of the /shop command, showing the kind of nomad remains you have on-base?

When completed the cloaks go straight to the inventory and you can buy them at the default price....you need to set the price and make it buy only as soon as you complete it...If it is your first cloak You cant set a price yet because its not in the inventory. Yea...someone could show up with two brains, finish the item and buy it for 1 credit...
Where is your base again?
' Wrote:That's wrong. You can set the item as not buyable, when you're base admin.
Yeah... he's not wrong.
From what I saw, as soon as the item was completed it ended up in the shop for a dollar. lol
Fortunately we had our base set to invite docking only, so the sort of thing Ranger suggested could only happen if one of us swiped it. But that could still happen due to lulz/miscommunication/lack of communication/betrayal. Which is why I wanted to wait to have those last brains deposited until both Erec and I were in the base and ready to grab it.
It did, for the record, eat all 3 brains once it had 3 brains to eat. I would have thought it would eat those sorts of low-volume goods one by one, but now that I think about it there's really no reason for it to do that.
You can indeed set an item so that it is not purchasable.
/shop [price] [item] [min stock] [max stock]
/shop 1 02 100000 100000
The above command will set whatever item sits in the 02 slot to a price of 1 credit with a min stock threshold of 100k. That means, if there is less than 100k on the station it will not sell any of that item.
It is impossible to do unless the item has been on the base before though.
