So I just got a Samsung GT-I5503T, it's a cheapo model but it was free so no complaints there.
It's my first phone with Android, and while I've used it quite a lot on other people's phones, I'm sort of a noob at what apps to get.
So basically, any must-have or suggested apps you guys have?
I looked at some articles for the same thing, but I figure I'll have more luck asking around here for any actual relevance in the suggestions.
The list goes on for this one. All depends how you wish to use it. Me.....I have astro file manager, so I can store things on my sd card AND access them on my phone. Adobe reader. Handcent messenger. Gocontacts. and a bunch of others. Not to mention, I also have root utilities so I can customize my phone. So, as said, all depends what you do. And the above site..dont need to visit if you have a data pakage or connect to wifi. Stick to websites if you dont have a data package. Now downloading on the phone, im sure you've noticed the playstore already?
' Wrote:Ye, I'm just using play on my PC since it's easier, and sends the requests to my phone which is totally badass.:D
I am coming across some issues with the cheap phone already; a lot of the awesome music production apps aren't compatible with it. :<
This does interest me, but it appears to have been removed from the store; all links I've found for it lead to Play 404.
Use your browser to google it; I forgot they keep kicking it off.
Jerks :@
It's now 3rd party, not Store. It's way better then the stuff there anywas ^_^

Pro tip:
Flash light app always comes in handy sooner or later.
Although I don't own an Android phone, many times have I found myself lacking a flash light and using my phone's lousy display screen as an improvised flash light.
If your phone has a flash camera, I highly suggest getting it, you never know when you'll need it.
Both Opera Mini and a task manager of some sort is really a must for any Android phone - at least if you're planning to be browsing the internet over a mobile network with it, as Opera Mini is pretty damn good at conserving bandwidth.
Other than that - I'd personally suggest Linda Manager if you're looking for a file manager/something to browse the SD card of your phone (Android doesn't have that by default), and also Perfect Viewer for images + compressed (.zip + .rar support + .cbr and .cbz) comics/manga/whatever.
Another app that I've found handy a few times is Where's My Droid. Helps quite a lot if you've left your phone on vibrate/silent mode and misplaced it.
As for a task manager - I haven't tried ES Task Manager which Swallow suggested, but pretty much anything will do fine on that front. I've personally been using TasKiller for the last year or so without any issues.
