Leaders of the Congress,
It has recently come to my attention that your people have an issue with some independent contractors in the employ of Interspace Commerce, specifically the Steel Family. Normally I wouldn't give a damn if you want to kill a contractor, but the fact that your people assisted a man named Rorri and his renegades in pirating an Interspace convoy. This is unacceptable, and I hope you have a good explanation. If you had asked nicely I would have let you have the Steels, now however I'd like to hear your side of the story before we get to that discussion.
It is unfortunate we must be introduced under such circumstances.
Still it is nice to meet you.

You asked for a good explanation so here it is.
It wasn't your transports we were there to attack or aid.
Our only grievance is with this Steel group.
They have shot down our members.
The attacks were initiated by them and were the result of them being accused of using stolen technology.
Recently they attacked our ships at our home system of Puerto Rico.
I will send you the evidence through a much more secure channel.
Seems the Steel were there for your protection.
That is a shame since there is a bounty on them.
While I can order the Congress not to attack you still I fear for your overall safety.
There are others being paid to kill them and that I cannot control.
With all the damage they've caused its important they pay for it.
Sadly the friends and family they have killed cannot be replaced.
We will be hunting them until they are gone and no longer a threat anywhere.
We have no wish to harm your corporation.. if your hiring the Steel though?
You are supporting an enemy to the Junkers.
Congress isn't a dictatorship and while I may be one of the leaders.
Every member has a vote and a voice.
Once they shot down Finn's ship there was an alert to all Congress.
They are responding and I cannot stop them from avenging their fallen brothers.
If you have any evidence of the Congress ship assisting the pirates?
Please send it and I'll look into it.

Mr...you didn't introduce yourself. Mr. Junker I suppose,
I'm glad we can keep it civil. I believe you did owe an explanation for attacking an Interspace convoy and...this is a hell of one. I've seen the evidence you sent and I'm not sure what to say. The Steel family are independent contractors, and as such we have little control over and no responsibility for their actions. In this case however I feel obligated to try and intervene as they've been invaluable to us in dealing with the Corsairs. Would the Congress be willing to accept a mediated settlement in this case, or have things gone too far for that?
My apologies my manners ain't what they usta be.
All these years of haulin scrap and fightin crap has made me alil less refined lately.

As I previously stated we never had any intention of doing your group harm.
Nor is it our wish to extort any credits from IC because of these individuals.
Tim Finnegan has been gracious enough to offer them a deal.
I am surprised since normally he is not so generous.
Whether they take the deal is up to them.
Lets hope that they do.

Thank you for your response. I'm having a bit of trouble with your accent but I think I understand the gist of your message. I left the Steel family with specific instructions to end this little vendetta. If they touch a Congress ship again then please let me know right away. I already need to have a serious talk with them once I calm down.

The Board of Directors has reached a quick decision on the Steel family since they could not accept the deal proposed. The contract with the Steel family has been revoked and the accounting and bounty departments advised to stop all payments to them. We apologize for any damage they caused you, and hope that Interspace and the Congress can remain friendly in the future.
