I think I prefer the first version as far as proportions go. I'd like to see that version with a more or less plain and simple dark background (keeping the grid, because it's awesome). Depending on how that looks, I'll either take that or the version with the planet.

Sorry to be nitpicky, but you misspelled "origin" and "Liberty."

If that line could be merged with the previous line and just read "ID: Nicole Hayes, Liberty Navy" then I would be very happy. ^^
