So, i read this thread and an idea visited my mind.
There were many unsuccessfull attempts to run gallic unlawful factions.
How about a faction that shares the same playerbase but has two branches, like AGS?
Factions like Council/Maquis or Corse/Brigands would do...
What do you think?
It might help with some factions' activity, but it also limits their RP options without drastic measures (causing the current split of AGS).
The state of the current Maquis is that they are separate from The Council, even if fully allied. Corse and Brigands were at war (before they were playable/known in-game of course) if I remember the rumours correctly, and they compete for the black market despite their current alliance.
Brigands and Corse never have been at war. The two organizations often cooperated, but you need to remember that inRP corse and brigands aren't one big merry family.
Brigands are split to many clans, normally each base has its own clan, though some of the larger ones might have 2 or 3. Sometimes bases aren't even fully owned by one clan and are split among lesser clans, some clans use the bases of other clans and so on. Though the Brigands are generally allied, and assist each other. Like a big familly with many branches.
Union Corse is as it hints - a union of many corse famllias, each with their own agenda. Similar to the corse only instead of bandit-like more mafia-like relationship. The union is merely there to give them a collective protection from the lawfuls and unlawfuls alike.
Now, among the brigands and corse you can find Corse famallias that have better relationship with a certain Brigand clan than with the rest of the corse families, and you could find a Brigand clan that has sworn enemy in the form of some corse family. It's relatively dynamic.
Anyhow, I don't think official factions should occupy 2 IDs - if factions in Gallia can't be active enough to stay official, so be it - let them lose official status and someone better take the place.
' Wrote:It would certainly help both with activity and role play related stuff.
Plus,it's going to be very usefull for Unione Corse based factions or groups.
Uh no. UC and Brigands have a completely different RP, the only thing I -might- have considered possible was Maquis and Council, but they were separated once for a good reason, I don't see why they should unify once again.
Heretic question: Does Gallia really need 3 unlawful factions? Wouldn't less be more in that case, when taking into account that Gallia is not really popular, and will likely never be very well populated?
It's still possible to change the Gallic setting, as they are pretty young.
The same could be said about Rheinland unlawfuls (although that's to be changed now). Grand ideas on Igiss' part seems to have been the problem, but hopefully AD's redesign of Gallia will foster activity. For now, playing as anyone in Gallia won't be as interesting or easy as it should be.
