As for the most logical way to transport goods, I really suspect that's a sphere..but ignore the blasphemy!
If it is meant to be a train, I think we should all remember that trains are, nominally, supposed to bend. If you're up for reshaping the design again and again, I can thrash your shapes as much as you can take.
As alluded to abouve, I suspect it should have seperate sections, and, even, would love to see it use actuall freelancer cargopods. (because we should use more of those, so that they can get love, and end up re-textured with logos and such)
Supposing you did make a train hauling standard cargopods, then you could build up an armoured section around each cargopod, with hinges between, in the pattern of the trains.

Then it's not a train.
And actually I dont get why hundreds of models made from a couple of primitives get more comments such as "good work", while this one (made polygon after polygon from a paper sketch) has none. I do only get advices about how-to-make-it-really-cool . Well, it's a complete concept. I'm not saying I'm good ( as Hades http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?...pic=110243 ) or even "ok" modeller, but definetely I shouldn't be here.
The model itself is great. But the trains themselves are one thing, and imply a bit of movement. Anyhow, I do understand that this community has no idea what it takes to put things together, slavers over the strangest things, and nada nada. That's a quirck to do with laymen everywhere. Myself, I come down hard, stylistically, on things that don't seem to fit the freelancer design scheme, even if the model is really cool.
My focus is on that, on making things fit into freelancer. Completed models that tweak me (and there's a whole host of them) as somehow not right to the line with freelancer, I suggest changes too, even though people often post only completed, not going to change work. This irks me, because I am completely uninterested in a thread designed around getting 'hey, that's neat' from every passer by. Frankly, if you want to submit it, submit it to the dev people. If you want someone to comment, maybe even critique....well, thats what here is about, in my oppinion.
I don't mean to come off harsh about it, either. I think there's quite a lot of misunderstanding going on when people assess other people's work, and so on.
Seriously Sorry For the Grave dig but I just had a thought while again ( for like the trillionth time) browsing through the Ship forums again . What if this was like a Renzu Train? It has the Renzu feel imo something Way different then the normal but yet still stylish. Maybe make it a Renzu 5ker? and available in Liberty maybe so its another option other then the Venerable Stork?
