Well the reason I did introduce us this way was out of respect for everyone that plays on the server. We have no intention of kicking in the door because this is your house until you let us in. This is also a time to get misunderstandings out the way before you even see a TRIAD tag.
Now i know the admins have concerns and they should have. I just want to assure them and the players of Discovery that TRIAD will RP we hope as well as anyone. I don't mind fighting for our position on Discovery, we are not running from Void as we still have a presence there in good standing. We just want to hit the ground going the right direction and appreciate all the help we have gotten in this thread
This thread will be something every member of TRIAD will study so he and she will know exactly whats expected of each member. And for that we thank each of you that have posted.

There are a number of NPC factions that do not have an "official" player clan associated with them. Those unlawful ones that I can think of off the top of my head are : Bunschuh, LWB, Xeno, Junker, Unioner (as of this week), Farmers Alliance (Zelot is trying to start one), Golden Chrysanthemum (we had Bushido, but that seems to have disappeared), and Blood Dragon (yes I know the NovaPG are nominally BD, but their history is from Rheinland, so there is not an actual Blood Dragon clan composed of Kusari nationals).
As I see it, the major impediment to these affiliations gaining strength is the lack of active trading going on in their territories. The trading is pretty highly concentrated along limited routes, and thus players choose pirates that can attack those routes in solid roleplay.
Since you guys have put a great deal of time into trading already, I would encourage you to operate your traders in such a way to try to bring life into some of the less used trade routes. Specifically, Kusari to Bretonia, and Bretonia to Rheinland. They may or may not be quite as profitable as others, but they hold the possibility of bringing life to parts of Sirius that are fairly dead. Other traders will pick up on it if you roleplay it well.
If your traders are going to be permanent for raising funds to supply your pirate vessels, then I recommend tagging and ID'ing them with NPC faction specific affiliations. Border Worlds Exports, for instance would be a cool tag and ID to see flying around.
Generally speaking, you don't necessarily need to operate an "official" clan in order to have fun and success on Discovery. For instance, you could operate well role-played Golden Chrystanthemums for action in the "north" and Bundschuh in the "south". Something like that would give you a greater variety of play styles, and open up more of Sirius to your players' activities.
In many ways the Junkers could potentially be a good fit for a group of mature and serious players. I was a member of the Junker clan that recently died, and I still think that it has a tremendous amount of potential for the right group of players.
1. Your area of operations is basically the entire galaxy.
2. You can fund your operations with Junker trading and smuggling (the only faction affiliation that allows pirates to land on lawful planets, that kind of sneaking is lots of fun).
3. Bounty Hunters are the main enemy, but I think you could thoughtfully roleplay a hostility to Mercenaries and Freelancers too.
4. The Rheinland Military clan will attack you on sight.
5. Junkers and Xeno are big enemies, and so are the Hogosha.
On the surface it may seem that the Junkers would not be fighting much, but I think it could be roleplayed cleverly enough to provide plenty of combat, and you can certainly pirate nearly everywhere due to the Junker bases scattered everywhere.
The bottom line is that Discovery can supply as much of a challenge as you are willing to accept.
As far as I am concerned the limitations imposed by roleplay just creates a bigger challenge. Challenge creates risk. Risk creates fun.
So don't look at Discovery's roleplay limitations as drawbacks. Look at it as a challenge.
Finally, I point you to this shameless plug.

Welcome to Discovery! Great to see someone who'll actually introduce their faction and be willing to work with our long-standing and pre-existing RP for once... Now, I know this is an overly-long post, but please bear with me. It does contain helpful tips, and one repeated and extremely useful link.
Role play is vital! I can't stress enough how important it is. I don't care about your PvP skill; What matters is your role play. Even if you're so good that a single one of you can fight the top 127 players all at once and win, you won't get anywhere if you can't role play. I would rather have a good role player than someone who is unbeatable in PvP, personally. Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but if you don't RP, you'll gain none of my respect what-so-ever.
You should most certainly read This. It is a well-written set of helpful tips for rookies, and, sorry, but that's what you are now on Discovery. Why? Well, I'll quote the first part of that link.
Quote:*** You may have been playing Freelancer since the first day the game hit the shelves; you may have won every Freelancer Tournament that has ever been held; you may have played 10,000 hours in single-player, and 2.5 gazillion hours on every other Freelancer server that has ever been online; you may be able to blow up every single ship that you come across due to your superior tactical skills; BUT your first day on the Discovery server and forum is your FIRST day. No one here cares what you did or didn't do elsewhere, this community only cares about the common sense, maturity, and skills that you display HERE. If you want respect, then you are going to have to earn it just like everyone else here did: by playing the game on THIS server and using THIS forum. Whatever you did before you got here isn't worth 2 credits to anyone here. You will have the reputation here that you EARN here, just like the rest of us.
Now the good part. You've done something people rarely do, something that puts you far ahead of other imported factions, something that makes you unique and better. You seem to be willing to conform to the server RP, and you're asking the community's opinion first, and THAT makes all the difference in the world.
Now, I have a few pieces of advice for you, though most of them are covered by Xoria's excellent thread, which you really should read. First, don't try to make a new faction. You should at all costs join a pre-existing one. Also, RP before PvP, always. PvP is only to support RP; after all, it would be completely ooRP to have a world where the terrorists did nothing but fly around humming merrily, the pirates nicely asked you for cash, and the Navy and police bid smugglers good day as they flew by with holds full of Slaves.
Now, I will stress, read Xoria's thread. It will help you to a huge degree if you listen to it. That is really some incredible advice Xoria has there... Personally, I wish it had been around when I first joined.
Also, if you have any questions, please, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask. Also, read the server rules, once, twice, twenty time, every day, until you know them by heart.
That was well thought out and delivered Xoria, it gives my brothers a clear picture of the Junkers faction. From what we read we where under the impression that many of the established clan had taken all the slots available to interact with the hot spots of Sirus. Thats why we where so animate and confused about how we would get in there. With your post I can see that at times it might be best to have a indirect influence.
Denelo; Well thank you, but TRIAD is not in the habit of bumping our way through the dark. I know you guys take freelancer as serious as we do. We didn't come here to fail so communication and understanding will get a lot of things solved right from the beginning. We just ask that we get the information that we need because we didn't have a clear route to success.
' Wrote:yeh well it's becoming clear a direct challenge down south is not welcomed lol so I'll wait and submit Xeno's and Hessions to the fellas, I'm 80% sure they will go for Hession. but because some of them went Xeno today and they went 8 and 0 they might go for it.
PinkydaBrain Thanks bro..but see these... some of these guys have TRIAD all wrong I was a pirate for a year on Void with one of my chars. It has over 7000 kills and none of them where traders.. I didn't have to kill them as I treated traders fairly and would kill anyone that killed a trader that paid me. So again hold all judgment until you see us break a rule is all we ask.
Sure ill give yas a chance as i am sure everyone will. Hessians are good as a faction and you have the corsairs as an enemy or ally if you prefer. The key to any game is allies and lots of them. The keep your enemy closer rule is good. Personally i like the outcast as a pirate clan and alot of the corsairs are reallly nice. Beastie intergalatica for example has been extremely helpful during high activity in the border worlds.
Welcome to the server. I'm glad that you are taking a nice standpoint on the issue, but I would also like to see how your crewmates think.
RP is not exactly something that people can adjust to easily. Not saying that you cannot, but if I can get some input from the other guys, it would be nice.
Slainte,
elgato.

TRIAD works on the element of respect.. You may not like me.. but I treated you fairly. Thats why we have no ranks in TRIAD. Our ranking system is based on respect..you gain it by performance and participation....None of us want to be the one that got our clan kicked from Discovery.
elgatodiablo: Thanks for posting bro, I've been on these forums replying to post for close to 4 hours..There is no way I would be here doing this for a flock of idiots. We have a cohesion based off of the knowledge of each other, many of them could finish my sentences, so what you see here is a reflection of every other TRIAD, some even spell better :>) But as I said they have no knowledge of this post, but i will link it to our forums so they can come here and put their 2 cent in.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like I'm just bursting with helpful advice!
Cobra, feel free to skype me or chat me up on xfire. My account name is "xxoria" on both.
After 9pm ET USA, I'll even talk to you via telephone (free cell phone minutes).
I spent over 300 hours on my two junker characters, so I guess I know the junkers as well as anyone does. If nothing else, you can bounce ideas off of me.
I have to get back to work now though, before I get fired...lunch break is over.
