Planetary flight has always looked horrible in Freelancer due to constraints in how systems are made.
It's not feasible unless you want them to look terrible.

Would you have below-average-quality product for the sake of having it or would you like developers to concentrate on what is important for gameplay as it is now and thus improving existing details such as POB balance, etc?

The concept itself is big and probably requires alot of work, so yes i'm not expecting to see that in near future.
If the possibilities of improving this concept aka. raising quality and such and is doable, why not in 4.90:D
