should leeds have its own pollution nebula around it? I was thinking why not create a nebula around planet leeds that is made up of ring nebula? that is, that it uses the ring nebula textures when flying through it but is otherwise transparent. or how about using the planet manhattan one? this would be fairly large and basically reach to the starting tradelane. just adds to the whole leeds pollution

some time ago I explored Rousillon. Impressive. Particularly the music on the planet that was a nice surprise.
so I recently started exploring Omega-55. LOL... NOMADS. LOTS AND LOTS OF NOMADS. SHOOTING THINGS. I GOT THE HELL OUT OF THERE. (and I was thinking, jeez I can't remember what that one was from the news. I hope I don't run into a nomad system)
recently started exploring Omega-41. what did you guys do to the star? that new effect there, that's impressive.
I have a proposal about Lane Hackers. They should be able to hack (get) information from trade lanes (who enter and exit TL). It should be simple to do. Police already have this service. And if this would be done Lane Hackers will fill they true role. As they are now pretty useless.
I want to support some ideas I liked, from last pages:
- Reduce number of systems for better player interaction.
- Make battle ships stronger and slower (or increase reparation cost, suicide should costs also)
and increase BS's price. Now if I'm mining and hauling ore with a friend using 5K transports, I can buy any BS in 2 days of work. It's just too easy. Or make mining less profitable (comparable to trading simple goods)
I have an idea for a new ship, but no skill or tools for modeling, so someone else would need to do that part. This would be ideally suited to Spa & Cruise, so the design should be reminiscent of the luxury liners.
Class Name: Silver Chariot Luxury Shuttle
Ship Type: Medium Freighter
Cargo Hold: 250 - enough for 50 VIP's, or 125 other passenger types.
Guns/Turrets: 2/4 - Not totally defenseless, but not going to take anything above a Hawk down without help.
Max Gun Class: 7
Optimal Gun Class: 6
Armor: ~5000 base - puts it in range of some of the other medium freighters.
Shields: Freighter class.
Max Speed: 90 - These ships are built to transport a group of people quickly through relatively safe space.
Max Cruise Speed: 350
Max Thrust Speed: 225
Turning: Comparable to one of the vanilla Heavy Fighters, such as the Defender or Crusader.
Other Equipment: Thruster, CM - These aren't meant to fight, so no mines or CD's
Price Tag: Somewhere between 500k and 1.5M, to fit in with other comparable freighters.
As far as appearance goes, I was picturing something with a wide, almost circular cockpit connected to a small section for equipment with engine pods and turret mounts coming off of it, with a large observation area in the rear. (So similar structure to the Rhino, but much more elegant.) All metal surfaces would use a texture similar to that used for the Luxury Liner. Turrets would be mounted with one on the rear arc below the observation area, one on top of the engine section, two on the lower side of the same section, and the guns underneath the cockpit.
RP-wise these would be used primarily in house space, for smaller groups than the Armored Transport. They are used to give tourists a taste of what is to come at their destinations, and provide a nice view for those who can afford it.
From a gameplay standpoint, these would be a nice stepping stone between the low-end fighters and freighters and the ~5M Credit Armored Transport. Not a large amount of cargo or firepower in exchange for decent agility and above-average speed.
Incapacitator torpedo does less damage, has far less range, has a slower projectile, and is more expensive to reload up on ammo with than the Nova. Its one advantage is that it is less energy-consuming to fire. ( a third) but to fire it three times you still do less shield damage than a Nova, and it takes longer.
edit...to clarify I'm suggesting it to be fixed. I don't suggest any stats as with no play on the server I have no idea of what would constitute proper balance.

I was just reading a post in the general forum where somebody was talking about how John Rhys Davies is in Freelancer. Anyway someone said that he hopes Leeds isn't conquered because he doesn't want Tobias to disappear or something (that was the general idea anyhow as I got it) But Leeds is conquered. And I agree with not wanting Tobias to just disappear. So let us keep him then
So I'm suggesting moving Tobias elsewhere if you haven't. Either on a new base, or on the smuggler satellite (is that a base or does it work like a docking ring?).
