Is this *static* working? I really *static* hope so......
Josie....
If you're getting this... I made it.
I'm on Foster Base.
Can you let the guys back home know?
It was mostly quiet considering. We ran into a few Rogues, nothing unexpected - They shot at us, we outran them. Foster is still here. Thank the escort pilot for me, he saved my butt a few times. My ships a bit damaged, nothing duct tape and cable ties wont fix. I'll add it to the to do list. But the long and short is everything is here and ready to go.
*Static*
I wont tell you how bad it is yet. Let me do a full check before I give you the news.
Already done shotty repairs on a few bits and pieces here..... Nothing too critical, you know, just the freaking defence system.
Fingers crossed it holds out.....
Alright... Hold on. My nerves are through the roof..... Before I get ahead of myself.... Where do you want me to start?
Confirmed. I read you.
Good to hear you made it to Fosters. We are setting things in place here. Tell the people there.......tell them help is coming. We have not forgotten. now onto the list.
We need information on
The current layout of the place, we understand that things have changed so we need the current data on the layout.
Security codes, for the airlocks, doors and docking/mooring areas.
Number of personnel, we need to know how many evac ships we need.
The model number of the reactor.
If we need information on other things i will notify you.
Just hold tight.
Telling the people help is coming is something. Convincing them is something else. I'll need to work on getting them to actual believe help is on its way. Not that I blame them, they'd been forgotten about for some time now.
Finding the blueprints was going to be near on impossible. The main computer with them stored is beyond repair, I had to draw a basic layout up myself...... excuse the erm... roughness of it. I managed to get... most... of the stuff here, it gives you a general idea on the layout anyway. Naturally, I forgot a tape measure. So, until I find something that will measure anything even semi-accurately I can't send the dimensions.
I wasn't granted access to three areas. The armoury, the main control tower and a small room next to the armoury. I won't push to get in there, these people are walking a fine line and I'd rather not get shot.
Floor D (What I'm assuming is... was... a medical ward in inaccessible due to damage and that floor has been shut off. Anything above A has been shut off also. I'm assuming that isn't much but I can get to where I need to go (if its required) through the elevator shafts.... Which brings me to the point of the elevators don't work, so don't bother trying them.
There is considerable damage in around a quarter of the hanger, and a small amount of damage next to what looks like it was a gym on floor B. This probably can't be repaired.... At least, not any time soon.
Important security codes are as follows:
Mooring point access: 39812
Floor C security room: 98239
Floor B access: 10983
Floor A access: 10323
Armoury: 40180
Stair access to control tower: 89456
Main control room/security: 42493
Main reactor room: ???????
From what I can tell, anything airlock related has the generic code of: 000490
From that I can see the reactor number is either LIB0246623 or 130980AL Either way, its a damn old model. I wasn't given the code to the room. But it looks like the door can be removed easily enough. Half the nuts and bolts are gone already anyway.
There is said to be 25 people here. From all the counts and logs I've found that seems to be accurate.
I'll get to work fixing what I can. To keep the place in one piece. I might look at making sure no ones down there and completely shutting off floor D and anything below it, less space for people to wander and its an accident waiting to happen down there.
On a brighter note... I'm feeling a bit better now I'm settling in.... Well, I'll keep telling myself that anyway. Can't help but think about what Jorzza said.
Bugger,
Is it at all possible to get into the surveillance system? or did the records go with the computer? We also need information on the number of hostiles we would be facing and their patrol patterns if they do. We know you may not be able to get accurate information on that but some information is better than no information.
Seeings as you cant get the code for the reactor room we need to know how thick the blast door is and what it is made out of. Plan B for that is to place a very large explosive, maybe two kilograms of RDX-42. Another thing we need is the medical condition of the people there. Both mentally and physically. We will also need the names of the ones with severe mental trauma. I know you have gotten through it pretty well but I'm not so sure about other people on the station.
Just hold tight Amanda. If all goes well it will be all over for these people and Fosters will be nothing but destroyed horrible memory for those people.
We will get them out.
The surveillance has gone with the computer, and I need sleep. Been at it trying to restore lost files for two days straight.
Nothing..... There's just nothing.
The flight paths will take a few more days to work out. I can probably get a general idea on the ships they use for patrols, but again, that will take a few days. As for the number of hostiles you'll be meeting.... You're going to need some damn good armour on the ships you plan on using.
No one can, or will, tell me what its made out of. But I'll keep digging. It wont be that hard to figure it out.
You would be better off not knowing the state most of these folk are in. Physically - they are fine. Mentally.... I've seen more sane people in the mental health ward in the local hospitals on Manhattan. They're all hanging on by a thread here. I'm really hoping you are able to pull through with this. Not for my sake, but for there own. They need help. And you're their only hope at the moment.
Tex and Pete are at each other with their make shift booby traps. Amy is trigger happy to say the least. Lawrence is convinced there is a clucking chicken in his toilet. Adam keeps thinking there is something going on with whoever and Amy. Ben and Timmy are, well, they seem to be ok - my gut feeling tells me otherwise. Then there's Jack, I think he thinks he's a soap god?
Do you want me to continue?
As an added note. Someone left a pair of socks here last time. Look important considering they've been framed. Might want to ask around and see who lost their.... prized.... yeah.
Tell me you have some good news about what's happening on that end.
Not much to report from here unfortunately, got a few people willing to help but the issue is i don't want anyone to tip the bastards that we are coming. Ive trying to see what assistance we can get from the military, but they can be a bit touchy.
About the reports on the people there. its a wonder you have managed to say sane considering. when we arrive ill have a few medical teams ready for people. Those booby traps, do you think they could be disabled? i mean we are going to go in quick and heavy. we need to get people off quickly we cant waste time avoiding their traps.
Some care packages should be coming your way fairly soon, i just hope they don't get blown away.
As for the expected resistance i expected some heavy resistance considering the close quarters potential number of hostiles. first wave of our people going in will be shock troops with handheld molecular riot shields, as for my armor it should hold up as long as i don't have to go EVA for a time period over 15 minutes. I will be going in with the first team along with Jorzza Clark to meet up with you once we are there.
Hold tight Amanda.
Keep me updated as you work stuff, all right? You know, something about the light at the end of the tunnel and not going insane.
The booby traps are more annoying then anything, I'll disarm... who am I kidding I can't do that, I'll set them off when I see them. But I wont go out of my way to find them. Sorry, but there is more important things to be doing here. Like fixing things. Yeah, I'm gunna need more duct tape....
Care packages would be nice..... Send along a good book or three would you? Oh, and something edible. Even if it is just Synth paste.
Anyway. Don't expect this to be overly accurate. But from what I can gather there are a whole lot of hostile folk to the north and south of the system, try avoid that as much as you can - I'm guessing there is something there they don't want us to find.
They seem to have most of the system covered in their scout/patrols/whatever they want to call it. But this is about as accurate as I can get it without getting myself killed and the computers being down. Again, sorry about the.... erm... roughness of it.
I can try get everyone here into the workshop area on the hanger floor. I mean, if that'd make it easier for you. Just thinking about saving time and ease of finding people in a hurry.
With the computers down and the power cutting out every time I try to connect up anything to either fix something or diagnostics tools it kind of makes it a little.... difficult, to put it nicely, to figure anything out. Anyway, going back to mechanic school, its magnetic. That tells me the reactor door is most probably some kind of steel. Im guessing class TRTL-60. This basically means it will resist abuse for around 60 minutes from tools such as hand tools, picking tools, mechanical or electrical tools, grinding points, carbide drills, devices that apply pressure, cutting wheels, power saws, impact tools and, in addition, can withstand an oxy-fuel welding and cutting torch (tested gas limited to 1,000 cubic feet (28 m3) combined total oxygen and fuel gas.
I'm assuming that will be what it is. Well, hoping more to the point. Logically, we have no reason to have installed the TXTL-60 class alternative.
Yeah i knew we would need some serious firepower to blow down the reactor doors. maybe some very very high explosives which i just received a shipment of, don't ask how. i cant tell you. We have a shipment inbound with some food supplies and the odd steak or two, I'm hoping the cryo preservation will last on them.
As for our end i got Jorzza training up the volunteers. i believe its going well for a crash coarse in Marine Combat and Tactics. I'm gonna patch in the camera feed from it.
*the transmission turns to static then comes back*
"YOU ARE WORTH-LESS! MY RIGHT FOOT COULD HIT TARGETS BETTER THAN YOU! Now i want you to shoulder that rifle, send some lead down range AND HIT THE GOD DAMNED TARGET. DON'T JUST STARE AT ME, SHOOT THE TARGET OR YOUR DEAD!" Jorzza yells at a very green looking man. "YOUR DEAD!, YOU. ARE. DEAD. Game over for you. night night. GO BACK TO YOUR MAMA AND TELL HER, oh wait. you cant. BECAUSE YOUR DEAD!
*the transmission turns to static then comes back* Uhm, yeah training is going.................I'll get back to you on that.
stay strong Amanda
Serious fire power in the form of explosives might not be such a bad idea. If all else fails, blow it up.
Oh, while I remember, can you send in around 500 bottles of water, 500 oxygen tanks and 500 food ration packages. Um, I think we need a few light arms, and preferably some form of industrial materials to try fix something here. Don't worry, I got it under control here, well, yeah.
She watches the visual feed of the training.
Tell me that that isn't who you're going to send here.... They'll get themselves killed before they even jump into the system. I mean.... I'm not a fighter, but I can hit a target.....
Amanda,
Consider those supplies sent, Ive also put a "small" variety of light arms. We have started to put plans together for the assault even if the training isn't going as smoothly as i had hoped but after a talk with Jorzza where he said they are not ready, well they are not ready. Getting escort pilots isn't exactly easy as well considering the forces we are going up against. We have been re-refitting the DSE)Arleigh Burke which used to be a Marine combat transport Bison. We are bringing it back up to its spec when it was in the military. I'm sorry things are going slow on this side. We ain't a military, most people dont sign up for a company like this to intentionally go and shoot bad guys.
We will stay in touch.
