Alright I'd like to open this discussion on ROS conduct as I have observed it. I have fought with them on I think three occations now with various members representing them, and a single time with an ally that had moments of play left before RL called.
In every confrontation they started bold, like pirates hopped up on cardamine.(cool, very good, I like), but about 10 minutes in to the fight they are screaming NO RP!, SPEED MODS!, CRUISE ENGAGED, and then fromthere it degenerates in to taunts. None use blatantly abuseive language so that is not a issue. In responce to the "concerns" I have posted mine and my associates motivations, read this and answer some of your questions, I'm sorry I can not disclose more unless you are ADMIN because the I do not trust many to keep out of character knowledge from their numerous alter egos. Admin I have no choice and just so that they can test my reasons and assure others by that test, that every thing is kosher.
Further more I notice that many claim NO RP, if everything on your ship does not match. Now I will speak only for myself, but I wear Vans, Levis, and structure. I live in America and use items everyday made from else where, I have travel do to military occupation in my past and have items from other countries. My point is, its not good RP just because your stuff matches, Rp is taking on an alter ego and playing it. It has nothing to do with what your useing, unless you kill NPCs just to mod your rep to get some where just to have that item, but who says no one has never faked a friendship to get something. I personally, if I see a bun ch of characters who are of various faction dealing with one another, dont scream (NO RP!) because that is not RP, I investigate and learn maybe something interesting is about to happen or forces are at work that are not obvious. In real RP if everyone is above board then there is no mystery or intrige and these NO RPers are threating game depth by keeping it superficial. Whats out of character for most is whineing when we are suppost to be gunslingers and traders of various sort one the stellar frontier.
If someone attacks me for no reason I dont scream no RP, I assume they have reasons I DONT KNOW, or are completely psyco. Much like I would in real life.
Engageing cruise being an admission of defeat??? I dont understand this one at all. What if you just wanted to get out of range and continue shooting them from a safe range of your own, or if they are too far away because they peeled off and you want to get back to them before their shields recharge, or if they do happen to be hurting you to kill some of their lesser NPC allies to gain more bots and bats? In a fight for life and death EVERYTHINGT GOES in my opinion. In addition with that rule in place the aggressor controls the whole scene. For example they cruise disrupt you because they out number you and are sure they can take you in a head on fight, so you fight for a while and go to cruise, they disrupt you again and you fight some more, only now you turn about fly through them fireing and then while they recover cruise again but this time you cut your engines befor they can disrupt you allowing you to drift at cruise speed, while slowing very slowly, giveing you ample time to fire with immunity, and you tear them a new one but score no kills. They try to break but now they are weak, so you persue and then the complaining starts, screams of LEAVE YOU ENGAGED CRUISE. What now they dont want to fight when you've widdled them down. Which is the one of the few ways a gunboat can stand against a BOMBER, VHF, and another GUNBOAT symotaniously and win, or min/max your weapons. But I use what makes since for my character not whats BEST. So in the situation I just described a rules lawyer would declare me a criminal but we are not playing base ball, characters should be able to use every capability their ship possess. The US military uses every capability it has no matter how small the enemy is, to accomplish goals. Lets also keep in mind I did not say a single thing about hacking or any rewriting of code just not being limited more than the present code allows. And the present code lets me engage cruise when I want, except for when disrupted. In fact there might be use for repair ships if they could cruise up to battle and drop supplies and then pull out of range only to come back if needed, with out haveing to leave the system as soon as someone whines.
Now I know this is mostly PVP issues but I dont see the NPC complaining, and I dont just go hunt player I might have made 100,000 credits on PKs.
Now I know ADMIN put alot of time into this game for free for all of us so I am not trying to step on toes or enter a flaming contest, but please tell me if there is really a good reason to keep that rule, I mean its not good RP:)to be limited in such a way for convience. Something battle never is. So pick your fight more carefully.
I dont want flaming I want reason please this is to be a adult discussion, nothing here was made up to offend, IT HAPPENED. Now lets talk about the future. Let me have it. *heat shields engaged*
ScornStar, paragraph breaks buddy. Please. That is essentially an unreadable wall of text, if you space it out a tiny bit it would be so much easier to read for us :)
I fight them a lot, and except once complaining about "Viper whoring" i have never seen anything you stated.
They never accused me of Speed modding.
They did however accused me for NPC farming, although it's not against the rules (enemy NPC's, not friendly).
Now, if you engaged cruise in a fight, you lost.
There is a rule about that.
I think you should read it;)

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
Listen, you engage cruise in a fight, you are out. Thats the rule. Normally, if you are in a big fight over Malta and engage cruise, we will let you go. This is fine. Rubbing it in your face by rule quoteing is not. Some of our members do this, and we will warn them about this. We will stop quoting rules and start taking screen shots of violations

I assume you mean Reapers of Sirius. As such, let me state, though recent recruit, I have fought with them on many occasions. Now I am a member. I have not seen such acts and we have fought together many times under my Cylon persona. I have spoken to them on such issues, as you stated, but this taunting and bad behavior I have not witnessed.

I didn't get much farther than this before my eyes started hurting. Anyway, I'm sure the RoS can adequately correct you on the previous statements.
Anyway, here is my answer, backed up by evidence.
Quote:5.6 If a player engages cruise engine or docks during a PvP fight, this player is considered fleeing. The fleeing player must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
Oh, and here is some salt, you were in the system within minutes after that fight took place. I was there in the Caedo to see it. Oh, and the RoS you were fighting when you engaged cruise was also, so that means you weren't allowed in there..
