A call came in to the Bretonian Armed Forces recruiting depot on Planet Cambridge. A tired-looking recruiter answered it - it was the end of the shift and he was ready to head home.
"BAF Recruiting, this is Chief Petty Officer Michaels."
A small, young-looking woman appeared on the comm screen. She had short blonde hair and wore rough-looking civilian clothing.
"Uh, yes. I was told I should contact you by a man named Austin Goodman. You see, I'm in a bit of a tight spot here, and he said the BAF could help me... turn my life around. I'm not sure if this is the right..."
The recruiter held up a hand, cutting off her nervous rambling. "I don't need your life's story at the moment, ma'am. Just give me your name and a way to contact you, and I'll forward that information to Admiralty House. They'll check with Mister Goodman and contact you for more detailed information."
The young woman hesitated, then nodded. "My name is Lisa Jaeger, and you can reach me at Freeport 1 in Omega-3. I just... hope it doesn't take too long."
The recruiter nodded brusquely and cut the connection. One more round of paperwork before he could go home...

After a rather long trip to the recruitment office, Naomi let out a sigh as relief as soon as she reached it. Upon arriving at the office, she knocked on the door and entered it once someone said to come in.
A woman waved Naomi inside and smiled as she approached her. "How can I help you, Miss?"
Naomi blushed lightly, returned the smile and was noticeable nervous. "H-hey... uhm... s-someone told me to go to the recruitment office for the transfer from the Bretonian Intelligence Service to the Primary Fleet. A-am I at the right place here?"
The woman behind the desk nodded, still smiling. "What's your name and did you already filled out the document including the details of the transfer?"
"M-my name is Naomi Woods." She said nervously and pulled out a document of her jacket. "And that's the document, m-ma'am!"
"Alright then, Miss Woods. Lay the document here on the desk and we will contact you as soon as the transfer has been processed." The woman said with a smile.
"O-okay. Thank you, ma'am!" Naomi replied, laying the document on the desk and slowly heading out of the room. "Bye-bye!"

Orcus and his brother Fidus approached the BAF recruitment building, the smog thick around the twins, the re-breather's on their faces the only thing from keeping them from gagging and vomiting uncontrollably from the toxic air. There was a bustle about the building, as they had expected; the constant threat of another invasion by enemy forces into the system had recruitment at an all time high.
I know mom and dad would be proud of us...
Orcus and Fidus couldn't look more different, Orcus was tall, lanky even, and had thick long brown hair, while his brother was shorter and well built, with a short cut to his charred black hair. Regardless of their physical differences, the twin's thoughts were the same as they entered the building.
... If only the rest of our siblings thought the same...
Their older brother Janus had served in the Bretonian military for a time, running black bag operations for almost 10 years before he became disillusioned by the same invasion that had inspired his brothers. He had become sick of the constant, needless warfare between the houses, and left with their older sister Sim to the outer regions, forming a trade conglomerate based in the Tau systems dedicated to some mysterious goals.
"What do you think the chances are that Jan and Sim are cool with us doing this is?"
Fidus interrupted his brother's thoughts on their older siblings with a nervous laugh and an equally nervous question.
"They'll kill us when they find out, Sim may even tear her hair out."
His response was glib, and even brought a small chuckle to both of their lips, but it was hollow. They both knew that none of their siblings would approve, not even their youngest sister far away from all of the conflict in Cambridge doing research, but, they had decided, this was what they needed to do.
"Well... there's no need to stand out here in the smog all day, if we do maybe they'll see us out here and then we'd really have something to worry about."
As the nervous chuckling ended, he realized they had been idling outside the doors, and after speaking with a wry smile, he nodded to his brother, and they pushed open the doors together, embarking on a path that would forever change their lives...
The sedan pulled up to the recruitment cent ten minutes before scheduled closing time. Aelena Fate sighed softly. She had just gotten her little sister back, but she had no way to pay the bills since leaving the Intelligence Services.
The amount of coffee requests just pissed her off.
Getting out, she entered the recruitment office.
"Pretty late..." the officer said.
"Aelena Fate. Formerly of the Intelligence Services."
"Another?" The officer sighed. "I assume you have the necessary documents?"
Aelena pulled them from her bag and handed them over.
"We'll contact you after it's been processed."
Aelena returned to her car and left to pay the last of her money to get Elysia her Cardimine dose.
.Aelena Fate, your request for transfer from the Bretonian Intelligence Service to the Primary Fleet of the Armed Forces is accepted. You may proceed to Salisbury to receive your ship and equipments.

Susan Morrison was standing in front of the recruitment building of the BAF, she wanted to do this step earlier but there have always been some things that prevented her from doing so. She entered the building and looked around for a person who could help her with the recruitment process.
She found a woman sitting behind a desk, she seemed rather demotivated and was busy filling out some papers. Susan approached the desk. “Is this the right place to apply for the Bretonia Armed Forces?”
”Yes.” The woman replied and looked at her. “Well then I’d like to apply now.”
“Okay, got the documents filled out?”
“Yes, here they are.” Susan put the papers on the table. “I’ll have to ask you some questions before I pass your request along.” The woman said and took a form out of a drawer.
“What’s your name?”
”Susan Morrison.”
”Age?”
”26”
“Previous occupation?”
”Escort Pilot for Bretonian and Libertonian companies.”
Susan watched how the woman noted all the information and put the paper to the rest of the documents Susan had put on the table. “Okay, that’d be everything I need to know. Did you add a bio to your documents?” Susan nodded.
“Alright, I’ll pass those along then, we’ll inform you about the results, Miss Morrison.”
”Thank you.” Susan replied and left the building, hoping it would not take so long and that she would get accepted.
. Susan Morrison, your request to join the Armed Forces is under consideration. In the meantime sign the documents I sent you. Final conclusion will be given after we observe your results from the tests..
