Welcome to ALG. We are an industrial company primarily based in Rheinland with a wide range of opportunities in the fields of metallurgy, chemical engineering, research, and many others - and of course, space flight.
If you find yourself reading this, you should note that we are not looking merely for hard-working employees seeking success in our company, but also people of strong moral character who are willing to stand with us in our struggle, a struggle that will unfortunately be accompanied by losses, setbacks, and even deaths, in the name of the principles we have been pursuing - democracy, solidarity, equal opportunity, and the freedom of all people from bondage and tyranny.
These are principles that the Federal Republic has unfortunately not always shared with our company, nor its successor state currently does.
It is necessary that any applicant understands this position, and is willing to follow it, through hardships and danger, without losing hope for a better future.
At this time, five of our six space-faring divisions are open to application.
Scrap and Waste Management Division is responsible for extracting, collecting, handling and processing of scrap metal, toxic waste, and other waste products. The job is very dangerous, not only due to the inherent hazards of these materials, but also due to the often remote areas they are collected from, which are rarely protected by law enforcement. Applicants must be bold but can expect high hazard pay rates.
Shipping Division operates the transports and trains that carry ALG's products and imports to and from our stations, and between our economic partners elsewhere. Shipping captains must be ready for long working hours at the controls, and must be familiar with the laws and diplomatic relations of the great houses and other groups. They must also have the diplomatic touch to deal with the possibly dangerous confrontations a shipper may find themselves in.
Security Division protects our ships and stations, and those of our allies. Naturally, Security Division pilots must be familiar with space combat, and be willing to learn the usage of the different ships and weapons we use, from small fighters to a potential posting on the division's flagship, the mighty battlecruiser Erdbeben. Security Division is particularly in need of applicants due to the rising tensions we are facing and recruits can expect substantial signing bonuses.
Research and Development Division operates exploratory and research vessels to examine potential resources, environmental hazards, and little-known sectors of Sirius. The scientists and engineers of the division often work for extended periods far away from their home bases and can face all manner of unexpected challenges. They must work reliably in isolation or a team and be very familiar with operations in deep space.
Corporate Security Division is responsible for the overall safety and prosperity of the company. They operate shipping, combat and reconnaissance vessels and engage in a wide variety of tasks. Applicants should have deep knowledge of intelligence work, combat, communication, and be well-educated over the breadth of the sciences and humanities. They must pass thorough background checks and show extreme dedication to the principles of the company.
Touring Division operates leisure vessels. The division is not currently seeking applicants.
Potential employees may state one or more divisions of interest, but may also submit a general application without preference.
Once a potential applicant has been considered for closer selection, they will be asked to one of our stations or planetary sites for interview. Please fill out this form truthfully and submit it following the template.
- Tell us about your previous experiences?Minor security detail for the rich vacationers and upper class on Baden Baden when I came of age, because Father wanted me to do something with my life.
- Why would you want to join ALG Waste Disposal?Well, I already clean up people's messes quite a bit. I might as well do it for a living.
- If a pirate threatens to blow you up, and you're carrying toxic waste, what would you do?Inform him that I have enough toxic waste here to make him grow a second belly-button.
- Have you read the laws of the houses within Sirius, understand them and abide by them?YES/NO
Your information checks out, we are adding you to the company roster. You'll start off as a trainee, but I see a prosperous future for you. Head down to Wuppertal Refinery or Dortmund Station and meet up with the doctors for a full physical and mental check-up."
- Tell us about your previous experiences? I lead my own ALG-Group and for a long time i am alone active and reveal for me the research field and so i do some researches and additionally i have a transporter to traansport many things like HazMat Canisters, Toxic Waste, Scrap Metal, Ores and many other things.
- Why would you want to join ALG Waste Disposal? I wanna join to be head of research department.
- If a pirate threatens to blow you up, and you're carrying toxic waste, what would you do?I wanna have a talk with him first to see if there are any other choices who can let me life.
- Have you read the laws of the houses within Sirius, understand them and abide by them?YES (Cross through what is not applicable)
So, you wish to strengthen our ranks? Consider yourself in. We were in need of an researcher. Visit either Wuppertal or Dortmund for a mental and physical check-up with a doctor. You'll be worked in by someone from the research department. I wish you the best of luck."
- Tell us about your previous experiences?I started out by trading all over civilized Sirious, except Gallia. I always bought where it was cheapest and sold to the highest bidder. Factoring in the travel time it was perhaps not the most efficient or profitable way to do it, but it had me going almost everywhere. Lately I have settled into a trade route between Freeport 14 in the Yokun system and Wuppertal Refinery in the Köln system, going back and forth with toxic waste and HazMat canisters.
- Why would you want to join ALG Waste Disposal?I love the environment. I think ALG is doing important work in cleaning up the Sirius sector, which is recognized by all the houses since ALG is extempt from the trade embargo between Liberty and Rheinland.
Also, I'm already running a trade route between Freeport 14 and Wuppertal Refinery. Joining ALG would allow me to use a larger trade vessel once I can afford it.
- If a pirate threatens to blow you up, and you're carrying toxic waste, what would you do?Since a hull breach could jeopardize the integrity of the canisters with toxic waste, I would choose to jettison the containers before it comes to that. I have confidence in the specially developed ALG HazMat canisters and once jettisoned someone else can come and collect them at a later time without the risk of the toxic waste spilling into the environment.
- Have you read the laws of the houses within Sirius, understand them and abide by them?YES/NO
Acquiring your own transport is more easily managed by flying the Wismar, a Golem flown with instructors on which you take the wheel. The profits made on the runs are yours, minus the costs for escorts and a voluntarily fee to the ALG corporate bank, used for the annual festivities on planet Holstein."
"In other words, you're in. Head down to Dortmund or Wuppertal for check-up with the doctor for mental and physical health status."
- Tell us about your previous experiences?I was in the service of the millitary for about a decade. I've had thorough training regarding knowledge of spacecraft engineering aswell as being one of the best fighter pilots in my squad. I would have probably made a career if not for an unfortunate incident in my family which prompted me to retire early. Now however, I need to make a living and ALG has always been an option for me in my opinion.
- Why would you want to join ALG Waste Disposal?First of all, allow me to start off by expressing how noble I believe ALG's work is. If not out of necessity, one would easily be persuaded to allign with this faction out of respect. Secondly, I've completed many assignments during my days of service that involved escorting transports, so I can safely say I have worked with ALG employees before. So far, I was not disappointed, and neither do I intend to disappoint anyone myself, if and when I may be accepted. Third..well, let us be honest. Everyone requires a capable fighter pilot nowadays for various reasons, and if that pilot just so happens to know enough about ships as to maintain them with minimal cost, then all the better, no ?
- If a pirate threatens to blow you up, and you're carrying toxic waste, what would you do?I would offer them my cargo, but not before informing the gentlemen about the imminent risks of a catastrophic reactor meltdown caused by radiations, or perhaps an unforseen hull breach which, if exposed to interstellar-travel could make their ships turn into so many pieces it would require all the Junkers in Sirius to collect the metal scraps and carbonized fleshly remains. Then ofcourse, I would ask them if they still desire the cargo.
- Have you read the laws of the houses within Sirius, understand them and abide by them?YES
Welcome aboard. We sure could use dedicated security employees, even with our outstanding record towards the somewhat more 'hostile' people of Sirius."
Head down to Dortmund or Wuppertal for a mental and physical check-up with a doctor. "
"Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Johan Diedrich, ALG Headquarters."
