Coming back.

After nearly a year, I'm coming back to Discovery because I've been going through some serious space/Freelancer withdrawals. I just miss being immersed in the Discovery universe, and Freelancer has always been a medium of nostalgia for me since I played it so much when I was just in elementary school.

I created this thread to just to see what's new with everyone, and if anyone's willing to accept me into their playing group, or to recommend me into a faction.

Back when I used to play, I enjoyed roleplaying with a capital ship just to feel the power (but not necessarily use it into battle unless mandatory). Being a scout and doing recon missions for my team/faction. I used to be in RR, The Order, and the BHG Core. I'm OBSESSED with the Omicrons and Sigmas. And Taus. And Bretonia. And Kusari.

And overall, serving my role in the Discovery economy and making money whichever way possible. Except bounties. 'Cause I suck at PvP.

Come play with the outcasts! Huge ZoI, plenty of Omicron/Sigma fun, and people in capital ships sitting around chatting over Planet Malta. Not to mention everyone's favourite blue antagonist is your best pal! (except when they're not).

So long as you don't go past the freeport in tau 37 you're unlikely to die horribly. I'm kidding.

You've got about 10K leeway, but that's it.

Edit: Regarding economy, mining and hauling ore net the highest return for time spent (unless you're jumping a barge), but I get along just fine with a battered little borderworlds transport on the old cardamine/slaves routes.

I'm also glad to hear activity in the Omicrons are rising... when I left, it was a rare occasion to see an Outcast ship even in Alpha... all the activity had been in the famous New York system

I'm sure I don't have any ships left on my account, being that I never logged on for an entire year, so I'll be starting from scratch unless I get a loaned trading ship or something. I'm honestly down for anything: mining, trading convoys, pirating. Just beware I really sucked at PvP back when I played, and I doubt I got any better with a year of inactivity. If anyone wants to teach me though, i'll be on this weekend!
