Oh, why bother? Heck, there's some Liberty Navy guys running around with a Mako or Bullhead or some such stuff. No one bothers to ask us anymore about buying our stuff - they simply come steal it because the way the rules changed, we can't do squat about it anyway.
Bitter? Me? Not much. Why do you ask? (I'm halfway considering simply taking one of my BHG characters in and buying an RM battleship - which I could do - and then taking it to Liberty, and enlisting in the Liberty Navy by buying a Navy Guard ID - which I could do. The new tech stuff rules hurt official factions a lot.)
Or you could call the police, so the BPA will arrest him for theft, rather than pay him. I've already arrested several people for flying tech without permission.
The new rules didnt hurt official factions, it just meant they had to RP rather than get the admins to fix things for them.

So they make an RP comm thread to the person, they go "Lol we stole your tech, suck on that" and other than bounties that no-one cares about, they continue to use the tech. The amount of pirate Ascos going around...

If that is true then why is this an issue?
Speaking of mollys and Bnoses, I'v seen wild geese using them. Ain't that a bit OORP?

Thats why I said call the police. And the faction stolen from can also hunt them. If it encourages factions to get out more and hunt thieves, its all good. Of course itd be better with shiploss on death, so you could actually STOP thieves.

Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work so effectively when the merc you're trying to arrest is unlawful anyway, and happily continues flying around in a FL ID bottlenose while respawning it (read: magically stealing a new one) 4 hours after every time you destroy it. There should be a way for factions owning the tech to stop players from using such non-sensical tech combinations without their approval, imo. Or, apply something like the Black Scorpion treatment.
Yes, then GB pirates would face death, that would be cheating... if all mercs use a Bottlenose. And plus inRP it would be stealing since they dont have permission and they go to Omega-56 and steal undetected.

I've said a few times, the nerf should use the lower of technerf and faction reputation, then factions could FR5 the thief and his nerf would go into the toilet.
Freedom of RP is good, restriction based on different player bias is no good. If I RP a steal, lemme steal the damn thing. It ain't like the owning faction can't bring the same ship to kill me, with better guns and no nerf for that matter.
