Mr. Farbridge,
I must apologise for my appearance first, and let you know who I am. I am Max Wolf, Supervisor under the trade combine. You may have seen me around the office, or perhaps flown alongside me at one point, but, down to the topic of this message. You may recognise this place as the Bowex workshop on Planet New London, strange place for many trade supervisors yes, but I am working on a little project. You may be wondering by now why I have contacted you, and not the head of my own division. Well I believe this project, whilst having selfish beginnings, may prove useful to those *points at his own legs* indesposed to fighter and bomber piloting. I am working upon something that may assist those who are like me. All I need currently sir is your approval to fit this device to a Clydesdale "Combat Freighter" Varient. The larger power core is better for me to work with, then I can continue to downscale it for fighter and bomber craft sir. Ah. One last thing. What shall we dub the project sir?

Trade Combine
I was a bit confused when I saw a message from a trade-combine supervisor in my inbox. Usually messages from your department are complaints about reckless escorts who did something idiotic.
As a veteran unable to fly smaller vessels due to a stubborn heart I understand your feelings and admire your efforts. Bowex has looked into remote controlling of escort and combat vessels two decades ago. The availability of freshly recruited escort pilots led to a shelving of the project as it was not worth the effort.
Project 41 as it was then called might shine a light on problems you might have incurred already. Ex/sec will divert funds and means to a restart of this old project and I would like to invite you to the position of project lead. I get you a small project team to start with. Extra recruitment for this project will fall under your discretion. A clysedale combat Freighter is all yours to do with as you please.
Until we find a better name we will call it project 42. Succes of this project will help us with our current recruitment difficulties.

Hello again Mr. Farbridge,
I apologise for the delay in my transmission, but I did receive yours. I immediately moved my empty Shire to pick up the Clydesdale "Combat Freighter" varient. I have just finished fitting the prototype, and a copy of the exact plans will be placed on your desk soon. Unfortunately size is the problem at the moment, and I will begin further testing soon. I am currently running a pre-launch diagnostics program on it, and will take it round to the "Londinium Straights" for some early testing. You may have heard of it, some unused land, about to be changed into a camp for refugees I think I have heard. I will take the "Clyde" down there for early testing. If all goes well, I will call upon you to come and watch the first flight of it. Perhaps call Mr. Peterson down to watch as well. Well. Like I say, we will begin early testing of "Project 42" soon. Until then sir, I hope all is well,

I recieved news from scarborough that you had come to collect the Clysedale. The plans have not been delivered yet but I suspect they might be on the late night mail run from Planet New London.
From what I hear the straights will be repurposed shortly so I hope we can conclude the planetary test phase rapidly.
Space flight testing for the new project can be based out of our facility on Sheffield station in Manchester. There is ample room for it and comparably littly piracy activity within the system.
If you wish we can have several manned Ex-secs from the flexible wings assist in security and chase piloting.
Hope to hear from you shortly,
Kind regards

Okay, Results...
Power core seems to be holding perfectly.
Controls almost Completely Responsive, slight loss of manuverability, i can work on it.
It held out for the hour i sat there testing. The only problem was the controls ran out of power on my end, but proved the safety works. I set it so if it leaves working range or planet control loses power, it lands, small safety feature.
These where the tests i performed whilst at the straights. I can successfully say that i am happy to move on to space testing. Pilots from the flexible wings to assist in security and chase roles would be perfect. I will move the transport to Sheffield in Manchester immediatly.

Saw your flight report. Looks promising. Safety feature clearly works but I'm not satisfied with it yet. If we are going to use this in full service I want several back-ups and redundancy in systems. Both for the vessel as for our ground control stations.
But, before we go into details. Lets focus on getting it to work. My demands are of miner concern if we can't get the damn thing to actually be stable in flight. I'll try to be present personally but I can't promise anything. Currently on Port Talbot and the station has gone into security lockdown twice in the past hour due to Corsair Raids.
Keep me posted.
