Did you even read the first post? it explained that Open nomads leave the Omicrons. Its a limit they had from the start. If you want to go everywhere for that i suggest you to apply for k'hara.
but for the /restart nomad itself i think its strange you start in a ship wich violates the id already. Why not make it the morph ship? in the ravine with open nomad id? would make much more sense.

I created a nomad char, but did it the hard way by taking the JH in Kansas and getting the Normad Trial ID that lets you fly anywhere. Later... I also did the "/restart nomad" thing with another char and spotted you get given a different nomad id that's not a trial id and limits you to staying in the Omicrons only.
Also, how comes it says the Trial ID can use a nomad mine dropper, yet you cannot buy it with a trial id?
The morph ship is something that usually shows 'K'Hara in training' for the most part. Any morph you see on the server is someone working to be up to the K'Hara. I suppose its almost a symbol showing that this nomad will attempt role play other then skip to pew.
I suppose having a abundance of morphs will kinda kill that image.
Uh-huh. Only took you...what? 2 and a half years to get to this conclusion? Well, better late than never I suppose.
With that slight bit of bitterness out of the way, I imagine that the Omicrons will be a basket of activity for a little while anyways. (Or would be if the server was up....) Get blastin', get roleplaying, take advantage of the opportunity provided. Oh and, stop worrying about "what-ifs" and "omg we're screwed". It's a game, you're unlikely to get hurt by anything that might happen. Be positive, have fun people.

Official Faction leadership ought to limit their loose cannons on the forum before they do further damage to official faction reputation.
So what now, you're telling people can't express their personal opinion when they are members of some faction, official or not? Notice in his post it reads "I suppose", not "we, K'Hara faction, think", the latter is prerogative of a faction leader whilst the first is a clear disclaimer for a personal opinion.
Not at all, I'm just saying it's counter-productive for official faction members to further add to the divide between them and "the rest".
You ever stopped to think that this kind of attitude keeps a lot of people from ever applying?
Edit: To clarify, of course people got individual thoughts, ideas and opinions, but sometimes it is very obvious when those opinions are solidly anchored in their faction membership (as in the case above).

Well that's quite redundant. If you want morph then it's the old-fashioned way you did, but for all this new open nomad ID it's just restart command, no need to make Trial character first.

Looks like an bug crawled in. Thanks for spotting.

Members of the factions are not PR managers and in my opinion shouldn't be treated as, lest they are spokespersons and distinctly speak for the whole faction, and the one above was clearly not due to disclaimer. Despite that you've decided to take it out of personal opinion context and apply as if it was a view of a whole faction, quite a stretch there. People have their own opinions and views, some like it and some don't, well that's fine really, long as you're able to distinct when it's a personal opinion or a faction public statement. Otherwise it would seem to me you're suggesting a lot of people have reading difficulties or some other forms of comprehension obstacles, like certain some having a chip on a shoulder.
'solidly anchored in their faction membership' - Well, tell me then, what actual statistics on opinions held with the faction do you have? Probably had majority of members interviewed, yes? I guess here the answer is far more obvious than yours.
Well perhaps it was a good idea if faction members thought about their parent factions when posting in topics regarding that very faction, if it's true that faction membership is in decline? I know I would feel obliged to take that responsibility upon myself if I was flaunting my memberships of various groups in threads regarding those groups' faction.
I don't need any statistics, it's not scientific, but I've stalked this forum for years and read quite a lot of posts daily. I do have a pretty good idea of where people's ideas are coming from, or at least what sentiment the members of some factions share.
Official faction members tend to pride themselves in holding themselves to "higher standards" - perhaps it was due time to actually do that, both on the server and on the forum?
I know I'd love to join if I knew I didn't have to conform to douchebaggery and slander (and dare I say foolhearted pride), because that goes against my core values as a person.

Cheapest Nomad ship is still worth some 4 mil new. We still have to be mindful when we make restarts that if we're not careful, we open the gate for farming them. Figured that a cheap ship was the way to go, and for the Nomads at least, it probably was also wise to give something that can't hit or be hit until the players gets to pick up the ship he wants.
