What will the drop rate change? It will simply increase time needed to farm them quantities you want. Half an hour or two hours - what's the difference really if you are still just as much sitting comfortable blasting them off?
they are usually sold from weapons dealers. so a xeno using them doesn t even mean he left liberty space. -
the drop rate is allready lowered from the original value. - however it would help if they would not drop off of nomads at all. - but only off of the wild - .... and if possilbe only in omega-58.
o-58 is dangerous enough ( especially with a good CPU power on the server ) to make farming them a real pain. big ships are shot down easily - cause those wrath hurt - small ships will have problems with finishing the wild, cause they tend to run away when being damaged ( and you simply cannot chase them )
besides, - it would make sense when blasters / cannons only dropped off of the wild since its them that need/use those guns. nomad ships are most probably not using a human type gun. ( but we might replace the guns with the usual 10k credit card on nomad ships - to give a little incentive to kill them )

I tend to agree with this. Sure, in original game they were dropping off the nomads, but that's doesn't fit much. Since Discovery has the Wild it makes more sense for them to drop prototype guns. As for the nomad NPCs I would rather suggest to make some "nomad" loot to drop, for example fragments of ship, some alien material or something, basically a commodity to trade to scientific bases, that instead of credit cards.
But all in all I'd say that both Wild and Nomads need big upgrade to their NPCs. All Nomad NPCs equipped with cruise disruptors, elite guards encountered deeper in territories equipped with shields. Lone assassin patrols (similar to Freelancer NPCs).

Having shot down my earlier point, you go on to make a better suggestion, damn you.... But it's a good one. Flying into any Nomad or Wild held territory should be a scary prospect for anyone regardless of what ship you're flying. (Unless you're not hostile to them). It should take planning and require significant resources spent to do so and there should always be that moment halfway through Omega - 58 when you think "I've had better ideas before" Having the nomad weaponry only dropping in a few select very dangerous systems would a) make them much more valuable and b) mean every pilot and his mum doesn't have access to them. I'm for this idea.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Didn't read it all, but.. There is no RP loadout that includes Nomad weaponry, except for Keepers.
Nomads + Codes isn't in RP for any faction.
Now, some factions have better guns, some factions have worse guns.
So, some factions are forced to use them if their goal is to fight off the others.
If their goal is only to RP, and don't care about PVP, i agree, they could use their own guns only.
But, sadly, i have to say that i find only 3,4 Factions with good enough guns.
If that was to improve, Nomads would become irrelevant.
And someone would expect for guns to develop in time, right?
I don't blame LSF at all.
I'v logged in NY few days ago, seen an Outcast Destroyer with Rogues ID, docked, F1, quit.
People just can't realize that Liberty Rogues can't fly around in Destroyers, damnit.
Their base in Liberty is a Destroyer, yet i see 3,4 of them a day in NY.
Please, if you want to fly an Outcast destroyer, please, for the sake of this community, don't be a Liberty Rogue.
Be an Outcast.
Same for Mollies.
Gunboats max, people.

' Wrote:Personally, I hate the fact that Nomad guns are everywhere.
People should be viewing nomad weaponry with awe and wonder, not just picking up a few more guns for your fighter.
They should be rare, and personally, I find that they endanger the usage of other weapons in disco.
You folks are right they are spreading and they are easier to get. but as I have been told time and again
time has passed the people of sirius are better adapted to fight the Nomads now and there are still billions of
them. Additionally the Nomad guns arent super weapons anyway there are plenty of factions that produce better weapons. Plus the Nomad guns are already almost valueless in the market with only being worth 13-17k, a far cry from BH weapons that can bring you 32k a piece. There fire rates are slow and there range is limited, if people use the heck out of them (the ones dropped) then its for novelty sake. Lets stick to RP reasons and common sense friends and leave our personal taste out of the equation. Besides if we keep pairing down the Nomad drops and value then we weaken the Orders RP standing. The Order already doesnt have much RP methods to make cash.
The Order has one place to get missions and they dont pay dirt. Also they can only hunt Liberty and Bounty hunters for real cash, which makes it darned hard to have a non-Corsair tag. When the very reason the Order exist is because the bloody Nomads. Faction leaders should regulate, not game rules. Lets keep this an open ended roleplaying game and not railroad it into a liner side scroll with tons of arbitary rules, and codeing because we dont like something someone else does.
BTW I'm not flaming you I just saw that your line was best to start my point off of. This is a message to all my co-writers of the story of discovery.
"I dont have much of a problem with Nomad guns. The players who wear them lack skill, so [brag]I counter their weapons with skill[/brag]
But yea, they shouldnt be spammed."
you re serious about that? - cause they do a fair amount of damage at a relativly low energy cost they require no skill? i think its a bit rich to judge that way over users of nomad weapons. so far you have yelled at independent warship users and now about nomad and codename weapons.
so, a "good" player only uses fighters with faction weapons only. - but limited, don t you think? - well, i d rather be yelled at as an unskilled player then and enjoy some more freedom.
The main reason why I have them is actually that Disinfectors have this huge white effect when firing. And it is quite difficult to follow where the projectiles are actually flying because of that.
So I mounted two Nomads on the outside mounts to reduce the effect.
Wild are in Sigma 13 so GMG is likely to get their hands on them and sell them to some KNF, Samura owns planet Kurile so KNF might even be escorting some important convoys there and get attacked by Wild.
KNF policy allows 2 looted weapons.
If my enemies have big problems with it I can switch them for Disinfectors.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
I really don't see things like that.
Nomads/Codes are good weapons, and can make trouble.. To capital ships for god sake.
They are very hard to use, just as any 600 speed low refire weapons.
Hitting a Blood Dragon HF with these is a nightmare.
Hitting a good LF pilot with these is almost impossible.
They require practice. It's a good thing you know.
It's not all in damage/energy numbers.
Krakens are much better guns, in every damn way.
