[A middle aged man appears on the screen still in his flight suit with visible scorches and bits of frost]
Guten Abend command. [he pauses] I apologize for the lengthy delay. I was... actually shot down in the Minnesota Region. The Libertonians clearly thought I was dead as my wraith drifted deeper into the ice field.
I drifted in and out of consciousness. The only thing that kept me alive I think was the... [he contorts his facial features spitting the next word] fortune that I drifted into another downed fighter. That pilot didn't make it.
I made field repairs to my wraith and well... [he glances back grimacing] its seen better days. But I can honestly say no finer craft has ever been made. I made the return trip on only one engine.
Anyways. My report. [he coughs]
It started out as a standard raid into the Libertonian sector of Texas. However this one did not go well for our forces. I was split off from the group and chased by multiple hostiles. Having no other recourse I fled into the nearest path I could find. The jump hole to Minnesota. There I was cut off by a second Libertonian wing. A brisk firefight broke out, however even my superior training was no match for the Libertonian numbers. [he sighs]
From there I found myself drifting out towards the edges of the system. My wraith nearly had one of its wings torn off by an ice rock. But it did end up embedded. I believe I drifted for... [he glances down at his digital readout] three weeks... before I found the other wraith. From there I decided my only course of action was to go EVA and attempt to salvage parts.
[He takes a deep breath his face turning stone cold] The other unfortunate pilot did not make it. Gefreiter Herrman Schulz can be listed as KIA. Using his e-rations as well as the few I had left I managed to repair my wraith's internal guidance systems and damaged engine. My navigation computer was fairly busted so I slowly drifted my damaged wraith around the system. I believe it took me about a week before I managed to find the Quebec Jumphole. From there it was a game of cat and mouse, avoiding the Libertonian patrols all the way back to Bremen. [he closes his eyes and exhales deeply]
