Let's get some perspective here guys... Capital ship spammers everywhere, less than 40% of the server actually RPing (on a good day) and this petty issue is hot on the agenda?
If Lawfuls where using unlawful or enemy-house weapons, then i'd worry.
It's almost certain that Liberty would be experimenting with Nomad tech given they're almost on the front line, in Alaska. (They're not afraid of using alien kit to get ahead. See TLs and Jumpgates).
My family avoids using them because we have concerns about weather anyone can really be sure such equipment is not infected with alien entities or pathogens.
Okay, I think that I see a bit of a problem here, guys.
I have no problem with the fact that nomad guns deal high damage at a relatively low energy consumption rate. Because, frankly, shooting a lot and missing a lot is useless.
The problem that I have with nomad guns is that they are OORP.
I find that they intrude into people's RP and the general RP in Sirius because nearly everyone mounts them. Nomad guns should be rare. Not every bomber or heavy fighter should have a pair of them. They endanger the fact that people use their own guns.
Last time online, I saw a UOG(who shall remain unnamed) carrying 2 Bretonia Ultra Sunrails and 2 Nomad guns. The OORPness of the guy mounting Bretonian guns aside, why couldn't he mount Trefoils?
They do 550 damage, don't consume that much energy, and are perfectly synced with the Sunrails at a speed of 600m/s.
I understand when RM pilots mount them, since their main gun is really bad, but when someone passes up a gun like the Trefoil for a Nomad gun?
All that is saying to me is the fact that faction specific weapons are endangered.

It was kicked around a little bit that the four major houses get lvl 10 guns buyable at a guard installation that are modeled after their wreck Codenames.
Relating to the topic is the fact that if we make them good enough and the Nomad weapons hard enough to get, perhaps we could get people to phase them out. (Especially factions like the SA or BPA) But perhaps the rugged Merc or the lone Bounty Hunter would still be able to use them.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
Excuse me mate. BPA only flies Hussars, and we most certainly do NOT mount Aliens on our ships!!!
Achem.
Anyways, the idea of faction class 10's is pointless. Very powerful Faction class 9's like Black Widows and Krakens already do as much or slightly less than some of the best Codies and Nomad guns.
The reason why codies and nomad guns are class 10 is to limit the number you can carry on a ship.

Excuuuuuuse me.
But yes, you do have a good point with the damage and all. If I remember correctly, thats how the discussion ended.
I would be in agreement, however, with moving the Nomad weapon drops to some highly guarded Wild system to make them harder to get.

Well, then instead of jumping on people's neck, we could make some usable guns for factions who don't have them?
Because, until we have usable guns, Nomads will be spammed.

There are two non-BAF, BAF Guard and BPA Guard bases that sell the Ultra Sunrail and Arranmore Base is one of them, so UOG, being Mollys; have access to that gun.
