The Alamo Mining Fleet is an assembly of Independent IMG affiliates. Since 819 A.S., Captain Alamo has been working within the IMG to mine Nobium Ore and have it shipped out of the Border Worlds. Having started as a miner and working his way up through a gunboat to battlecruiser Captain, Alamo has recruited several pilots into IMG and has passed on the mining and shipping skills to anyone willing to learn. Having provided the training and credits to get several ships and commanders started on promising and successful careers, they work together to provide better protection of their shipments and mining operations from attacks by Outcasts, Nomads, freelancer pirates and other unlawful terrorist groups within the Borderworls.
Many IMG affiliates who fly with IMG IFF’s, ID’s and technology, do not always make it into the IMG| HQ. And IMG| ships are is not always present when needing protection from piracy or terrorism while mining or along the best shipping routes. The AMF will offer an alternative and rather private grouping for easier facilitation of mining and shipping. The biggest hurdles of this trade is protecting ships as they mine and ship to and from their destinations with the raw ore. AMF will seek to offer regulated mining groups, shipping groups, and escort services to members and temporarily contracted parties as a whole. AMF will help provide first rate security and efficiency to mining and shipping operations within the greater IMG. We are not attempting to replace, or overthrow IMG| as the official player faction for IMG, but rather add to the existing NPC faction community as a separate group with its own chain of command, while still respecting IMG| authority over IMG operations in adherance to server rules and system jurisdictional laws.
New members will be given the rank of Recruit [R] for all branches. Upon 1 week of employment the status of Pilot [P] is granted. From there members will be divided into groups and military escort groups, which will be assigned Military Commanders [COM]. These commanders will be in charge of flight wings that will be in charge of overall group security. [COM] officers will always take orders from the group operations commander [OPS]. Groups may be formed upon availability and chain of command will fall in under the senior military commander. The only other members that will outrank them are Operations Commanders [OPS], who may be of any branch. So, [COM] military commanders will be in charge of all escort ships, and mining/shipping vessels, unless an [OPS] officer is present. They will dictate action to the [COM]. Escort ships may achieve the rank of [OPS] after [COM]. Otherwise, military commanders fall in line under [OPS] commanders, and all recruits and employees fall in under them. The Supreme Commander is in charge of all fleet ops, groups and is the center of the chain of command. When there are multiple members of the same rank and position, seniority will be dictated by the [SC], or if not present, time in the organization will be the determining factor. For instances where there are more than one [COM] officer or [OPS] officer, the 2nd down in seniority will be expected to work with their senior as a 2nd in command, and so on down as numbers dictate.
Technology in use:
All IMG, Zoner, BHG and Civilian technology is approved for use.
Recruit - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser
Pilot - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser or battleship
Military Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian heavy fighter/super heavy fighter, mining fighter*, bomber, gunboat, battlecruiser, battleship/carrier
Operations Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian heavy fighter/super heavy fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser, battleship/carrier
Supreme Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian, battle cruiser, battleship or carrier (with exception to faction founder Captain Alamo who also flies a Lhoste IMG VH fighter).
Here is a division of labour based on branch and tech applied:
Mining [M]- any IMG or Civilian mining fighter or miner
Shipping [S] - any IMG, Zoner or Civilian transport
Military Escort [E] - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian fighter, mining fighter, bomber, gunboat, battle cruiser, battleship or carrier (depending on rank).
*the mining fighter Arrastra is allowed as either Miner or Military escort, and allowed to interchange, after mining is completed, those participating in the convoy will be required to re-equip combat capable turrets in replacement of mining fighter turrets, however their chosen position as either [M] or [E] will remain the same.
Members are encouraged to own multiple ships, giving the ability to switch equipment based on necessity. A miner can also own a fighter, and be able to switch to take on escort duties after mining is complete. When we roster we shill show all ships holding the AMF│ tag but they will not be counted as separate or multiple members if 2 or more ships belong to the same officer.
3) OOC description of activities:
The AMF is already in the habit of organizing mining/shipping parties. Strength in numbers is the key. In the last few months, attacks by unlawfuls have made it increasingly difficult to mine and ship ore without having to pay what is essentially an inflated price due to forced contributions to pirate and terrorist activity (moving through the Taus, more specifically Tau-23, Tau-37, Kepler, Galileo and Colorado). This faction will provide the infrastructure of highly specified ranks and branches with assigned areas of responsibility to all participating members. Shifts will be organized and employees assigned to areas and times. All members will be interchangeable (withstanding ships and equipment being used), so that whoever is available may interlink with other members and default to a new chain of command based on circumstances, allowing for a quick and efficient execution of operations.
Daily operations include assembling at (ex. at Java Station in Tau-23, as location will vary for security purposes) a rendezvous point. Once assembled with adequate presence from all branches, the group will move out into the niobium fields to mine. Escorts will establish a zone or perimeter of influence to protect the miners as they fill their corresponding transports. Transports will be protected at all costs and the military escort’s job is not only to fight off attackers but to clear the way to allow for any transports to escape to the nearest point of safety.
Upon completion of the mining process, all ships divide based on either shipping or military escort roles and set out on their specified route. Escorts provide a variety of functions including scouting and acting as decoys. The allocation of ships to each other will be based on priority and capability. Tactics will be applied based on whatever prevailing circumstances may be present (protecting multiple transports, availability of fighters/bombers vs. capital ships or gunboats) and the distance and routes being traversed.
The overall goal will be to establish a regular presence of privately contracted ships capable of joining into groups for ‘in group’ services for members and providing extra-factional services to freelance transports, etc, and ship ore in highly organized convoys on a regular basis. Ideally the AMF plans to have ships available at any time to assemble for the purposes of providing security, and be a ready and available means to both mine or ship ore. Our services will be to provide a group system for mining and shipping that will be available for miners/escorts to join, or shippers to hire. Shipping ore will not necessarily be simply finding a miner to fill you up, or a transport to fill, and maybe finding an escort to protect you, all while you are at risk of being pirated…. AMF will offer full mining, shipping, and/or escort services so you will never have to mine, wait to be filled, or ship to your destination alone. Any approved ship will be able to join into an AMF convoy as a client or request membership to become a regular employee. All proceeds from faction controlled transports will be put into a faction account where payment will be released upon work load and earned entitlement, as well as any payments from client ships. The usual cost of 2k per unit for niobium ore, or approx 10 million SC per 5000 units, will apply to contracted clients. Also, a 2 million escort fee will be exacted, with the benefit of an assured escort within the group from ore field to destination. However, if there are not sufficient numbers on duty to form a convoy members are permitted to group and contract out their services based on their branch.
Regular mining convoys will be organized so that clients will be able to arrive at a pre arranged time, and enter into the group to mine for as many in faction and out of faction transports at the same time. Concurrently, the largest possible escort fleet will be assembled to protect this gathering. This will become a nightly or semi nightly routine, once operational security is established, and ships will be updated a rendezvous point and a designated time in order to make the next convoy. Convoys will be monitored in real time with the application of all resources available in order to execute their safe and secure operation.
The addition, plans of construction of a new base somewhere within the Taus at an undisclosed location will be added to serve as a headquarters for this new faction, proved safe harbour, and equipment provision services to members. In the meantime, we claim no system or base, and operate as the IMG does, as a loose and independent organization. Java Station will be our main base of operations, yet may operate from any IMG base.

Areas of Operation (no claimed territory as of yet):
Goals: Provide organized security, mining and shipping operations within our areas of operation.
Political goals: Bolster support to the IMG, with no real political goals towards House politics or activities. Regional goals are of countering the advances made by Outcasts factions and other unlawful parties within our area of operation. We shall maintain the same IMG policy of neutrality, and will offer assistance to any lawful ships, or house military/police as requested. Our intent is to obey all house and interplanetary Sirius Laws. We are here to conduct business. We would be available to offer assistance to any house military/police within our areas of operation, with the exception of rendering assistance to one house against another house or lawful faction.
Security: After recruiting and advertising of services begins, due to security concerns, clients seeking our services will be required to contact any officer of the rank of [COM], [OPS] or [SC], and verify their rep by screenshot (for clients using the comm channel, obviously not necessary when approached ship to ship). Potential clients may post service inquiries on the comms thread, but private and secured communications are required to verify client info before disclosing sensitive information. Once this is achieved coordinates for a rendezvous will be sent out to all clients who plan to enter the next convoy. They will be expected to arrive at those coordinates at the prearranged time in order to set out to the ore field. Mining coordinates will not be issued until after all ships have arrived.
Add me on Skype (kuscheliger_schmusehase), so we can sometimes work together. I am still trying to break my own record of 18 transports in one convoy und if you guys add a few, ALG and Gateway add a few... I see big and cool things happening.
Feedback:
> I would drop the [M], [E], [T] tags. The mining/transporting part is a metagaming cat&mouse game. Don't give the player list intel that shows who is a target and who is a hidden gun.
> To make it even harder to metagame, bump snubs with money, keep GBs low on money, keep your Transports level around the same level as the snubs.
> seeing your operation environment, make a "mininum armor rule" or you will die a lot. Especially new factions with newer players feel frustrated when being beaten up too often, too badly. IMG| has a "CAU6 minimum" rule for convoy transports. I have to say, it works.
Contact me, let's make this work nicely, coop and see what we can add to the other's rp. *winks*
I'm glad to have your support, I am hoping this will be a good rp stimulator and bring some good business our way. We're always having good interactions with IMG│and it would be great to have anybody willing to join in fly with us! I'll be posting a comms channel as well where your members or any other reps can and share informatinon or voice their concerns and inquiries. Assembling a large group like that would be a lot of fun so I'll be doing my best to get some things organized.
As well I'll appreciate the feedback and will heed your reccomendations. Perhaps I will use a more private means of communictions to let members and clients know who is who within the organization. And any other tactical information or intelligence is welcome, and we shall surely share ours as well.

5 members at the moment sir. We are making nightly mining runs and convoys right now. The more the merrier as they say! Here's the Recruiting Channel that has more info on this! If you have a ship you feel would be a good addition to our group, send your stats! Or if you fly a transport and wish to remain independent, as long as you are not hostile, we will gladly sell you ore. However we usually mine and ship together to keep things safer, and members or non members are welcome to accompany us.
From your operational area I gather you're only doing the Niobium-to-Liberty runs? I'm surprised you list Xenos as enemies.

Actually you are right, they should be under the neutral list. We don't run into them too often! As long as they don't show us hostilities we shall do the same.
All IMG, Zoner, BHG and Civilian technology is approved for use.
Recruit - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser
Pilot - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser or battleship
Military Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian heavy fighter/super heavy fighter, mining fighter*, bomber, gunboat, battlecruiser, battleship/carrier
Operations Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian heavy fighter/super heavy fighter, miner, mining fighter*, bomber, transport, gunboat, battlecruiser, battleship/carrier
Supreme Commander - any IMG, Zoner, BHG or Civilian, battle cruiser, battleship or carrier (with exception to faction founder Captain Alamo who also flies a Lhoste IMG VH fighter).
You might want to be careful with this, as I am sure BHG hasn't allowed IMG or IMG| even use of Core caps, and BHG snubs, gunboats and weaponry are shared in small amount.
If you RP for it, then it's yours.
Aside from this, everything is looking good! Good luck!
So far no caps anyways aside from my own, and thats IMG, and I posted in our Recruiting Channel this morning that IMG ID's and IFF's are no longer necessary for military ships (so that would mean ships flying either Zoner or BHG IFF's and ID's, or civilian with any of those combos) wishing to act as security/escort. Therefore as long as they are not belonging to any other faction (player faction), I will accept them for that role. If they think it may infringe upon other factions tech use they can always participate without taking the tag until a new ship is selected or it is worked out with that faction. I had 'GreatWhite' listed but havnt seen him since, so I'll be making an amended roll call near week's end.
I'd considered this group a pretty cool effort (unfortunate that IMG| recruitment was closed when you were looking to apply though) although the decision to open up to allow Zoner, Order and BHG IDed caps (and other ships) might be a bit strange - however, there are no rules about this for unofficial factions, so your choice.
As for "The Alamo" and your offer of business, I am sure Jack offered you Siloso access (as he does with any indies interested in making a base) to prevent any unnecessary competition. Didn't really think there'd be need to build another base in Tau-39.
I'll let Jack get back on, see if something can be worked out to help each other out. I'd rather not get involved.
