Army Bases
The Bretonian Army is one of the three branches that form the Bretonian Armed Forces. It is the largest main land warfare branch of the forces. The army has been around since the very start of Bretonian history. When the sleeper ship landed on what they christened Planet New London the need for a force to uphold laws, protect the people and lead colonization of new parts of the planet as well as new worlds was paramount. The uniform of red, blue and white distinguished the Bretonian soldier from the rest of Sirius armies and uniformed organizations. In the beginning it acted as a police force but soon became a very large and capable system-wide combat force. It has thousands of aviation ships to deploy soldiers and personnel planet-side and when the need to go system to system or station to station is required, the Royal Navy uses their capital and transport space vessels to assist.
Bretonian Army Deploying With Joint RAF Assets In 507 AS On Training Exercises
The Army has many bases, structures, training plains & facilities spread over Bretonia that they can deploy ground forces and first strike battle groups within fifty two hours to any soil within the house, including uninhabited planets. Although modern combat is mostly performed in space, ground warfare still exists and therefore ground forces are still required. Leeds has the largest chance of having ground warfare with the Kusari forces landing ground forces to capture the planets contents such as cities, bases and military facilities. The Ministry of Defense knows this and therefore has set up the Bretonian Armies largest base in history in the heart of the city of Leeds. Welbeck base is over nine miles wide and houses over thirty thousand soldiers. It has it's own port, digital training facilities, housing, armories, road system, police and hospital. It literally is a military city within a city.
Welbeck Base
As well as Welbeck base, the army has multiple other bases and zones were they can launch defense operations from in the case of a city invasion. Also, Leeds has currently the largest concentration of ground forces due to the war with Kusari. However it is a common misconception that the army only follow orders and die to the enemy in the defense of civilians or key zones but this isn't the case. The army also help with natural disasters and uphold the law in extreme situations such as riots and rebellions.
The Army includes a lot of assets which make it very versatile and deadly. From ground soldiers and tanks, to Anti-Air and Anti-Space ship missile and gun batteries. It can hold its own, when required.
Bretonian Infantry Soldier
The Bretonian Army Infantry Soldier is laden with very expensive equipment. Standard issue is what you see above and then there are multiple attachments and armour changes possible to make your soldier fully capable to follow orders and fight in whatever terrain and climate. When soldiers are exposed to chemicals, lack of oxygen, radiation or unclean air, then the Mark II helmet is issued. The visor of both helmets allows battle net to be displayed in front of the users eyes. Information such as hostile positions, objectives and friendly forces are all played out digitally, a few centimeters from his eyes.
The Royal Artillery is a branch of the Bretonian Army. Arguably one of the most influential branches on the battlefield. The most problematic circumstance when it comes to the effectiveness of the Artillery, is if the artillery pieces get put out of action. Therefore artillery pieces are set in very secure bases and zones of operations. Covered with security forces and Anti-Air & Anti-Space craft batteries, the guns can then pound the enemy ground forces into submission and the only threat to them is running out of shells. In the case of the Churchill Artillery Tank, protection is not always there since it is a mobile gun platform. It trails behind the company and sets up when needed, where ever it may be. The Churchill's gun is totally automatic and it has one crewman. This crewman drives and fires the gun. Modern technology allows the gun to automatically target, fire upon and reload whilst the driver concentrates on driving in the case of evasive maneuvers, retreating or assaulting a position. It is the most popular artillery piece used by the Army.

For both artillery guns, tanks and atmospheric planes, the uniform is all the same. The Crewman has standard issue Mark One body protection gear, gloves, boots, overalls that can include further armour or attachments, and a waist belt. The helmet is standard issue and protects the user from all sides. The visor blocks sun and blasts and also acts as a digital combat system were the user can bring up the battle net in front of his eyes.
The Royal Armored Regiment was set up a little over twelve years after the Army was formally formed. Back on Earth, the Royal Tank Regiment started during the great war, the only reason tanks were made at the time was to over run the defender and protect the infantry. This principle still exists but militarys have gone to the extreme of utilizing the armoured beasts potential.
Battle tanks dish out the biggest firepower. Their main guns reek havoc on hostile bases, structures and vehicles. Battle tanks are also equipped with a variety of weapons and equipment. Machine guns, laser turrets, chemical sprays and lots more. They are formed into Tank battalions and most often than not, spearhead the invasion or form the first line in the defense. However the fuel and ammunition to maintain the beasts require large convoys to either follow the advance or for the tanks to stop and wait for the local base to get aid to them.
Armoured Personal Carriers & Land Raiders are the infantry's best friend. They keep the soldiers safe as they charge towards the enemy projectile and laser fire. Once at the enemy lines or at the objectives, the ramp goes down or doors open and the occupants pour out. The vehicles are equipped with weapons or war themselves to defend the vehicle and act as an infantry support vehicle. Also known as Recky tanks since they also tend to do the recon of the company. The APC's or LR's are mostly in a mechanised infantry platoon.

Energy tanks, or Laser'Beasts as the infantry call them due to what they fire. The tanks have a variety of turrets under this category. High molten metal, lasers or energy beams are fitted to the turrets and they are similar to Battle tanks but instead of blowing up the target, they burn through it. Some issues with the vehicles are their fire rate. When a tank opens up, it can take some time for it to fire again due the heat on the barrel.
A lot of other vehicles in the Royal Armoured Regiment exist such as Anti-Air craft mobile batteries, Anti-space craft mobile batteries, supply tanks, lightly armoured troop transports, Shield tanks and much more.
Tanks that are solely used by robotics are present in quite large numbers and are used in specific companies. They can be controlled by local ground forces.
Army Vehicle Depot
The Army's main manufacturing plant of military vehicles is on Planet Leeds. Eden-Plant is the name of the region of the city that houses this enormous manufacturing city. Located near Welbeck Base, it can manufacture a whole battalion of tanks in a little under a working day if needed. The pride of Bretonian Military manufacturing.

Two hundred years after the army had tanks in the great war, they began to have battle walkers or 'robots'. The walkers in the royal armoured regiment are not remote controlled, instead they have a one man or two man crew inside the main body that operates the walker. They perform many combat roles and there are over twenty varieties of walkers. The Churchill battle walker is as the name suggests used for war. The twin cannons on the nose of the walker is it's main arsenal. Some versions of the Churchill have laser cannons instead of standard issue projectile cannons. Missile pods on either side of the head and an anti armour twin gun on the head allows it to target multiple threats at once. At roughly eighteen meters high, this war machine deals its fair share of destruction upon the enemy. However there are also walkers that perform logistic tasks that help move machinery, other walkers and armoured vehicles.
The Bretonian army has a selection of special forces, or special operations forces which is a term used to describe elite military tactical teams trained to perform high-risk dangerous missions that conventional units cannot perform. Special forces soldiers need to be physically and mentally robust and have the confidence, courage, and skill to operate individually or in small teams, often in isolation and in a hostile environment. They are high-value assets commanded at the strategic level, delivering effects disproportionate to their size.
What army special forces include doing is reconnaissance in the deep battlespace, training and development, offensive action, battlespace preparation, support to counter-insurgency through population engagement and support, support to counter-terrorism operations and disruption of logistic routes in the deep battlespace.

Recky soldiers, otherwise known as pathfinders and snipers are an elite soldier specifically trained to know the environment, and do their job within it without being detected. They take out high priority targets from afar, up close in sabotage. They also are the first into the battlefield to spot enemy positions for the other ground forces and air craft to target effectively with minimal collateral damage.
Recky Soldier
The above Recky soldier has an urban combat uniform with a parade helmet. The Recky soldiers have a large variety of camouflages so they can work effectively in their environments. The soldier also has a L8-81 High power sniper rifle without a tripod or scope. Commonly used in parades. Standard issue boots same as infantry to protect the feet and allow easy mobility on the rough terrain. Light, thinner armour allows further distance movement but also offers some protection. The Recky soldier has the ability to carry whatever is required for the mission but the soldier above has minimal equipment and attachments.
The Bretonian Military Police are a uniformed branch of the Bretonian Army that handles responsibility of policing in both the armed forces and in the civilian population. In times of war, crimes increase in number but the Military Police are more concerned by what happens when the soldiers and personnel of her Majesty's Armed Forces get involved. War crimes such as rape, prisoner misconduct, murder, treason, terrorism, security of structures, equipment and people and when personnel go rogue.
Military Police defending a important facility
The Military Police have their head quarters in the City of Leeds. It is a very large complex in the city outer edge and contains all case studies that the branch works through. The complex has landing zones for air craft to pick up and drop of whatever is required. The 14th floor of the building is Emergency Communications and a Propaganda Broadcasting Station. The upper floors of the building are still under construction but they due to be completed shortly. Beneath the structure is an underground bunker that is capable of keeping those inside the structure a safe haven in case of an invasion. Multiple defense systems, traps and obstacles are set up within the buildings corridors and rooms to help the officers repel any invasion by hostile ground forces or to repel terrorism and riots.
Royal Cybernetics is the robotics branch of the Bretonian Army. They handle the designing and research needed in getting the blueprints for a new robot then corporations will mass produce them in manufacturing plants.
The best thing about robots on the battlefield is that they have no fear, they have no second thought, they do not stop until they get destroyed or until their orders are completed. Also, the robotic soldiers have auto-placed heat sensors, battlefield mapping sight zoom and a whole lot more. They compact down everything a human soldier needs in weapon sights, electronic battle visors, binoculars and more, into a single unit. They also do not have any issue with the terrain, climate or morality of their orders. If something needs to be killed, you can be assured they'll do it as long as they have the weapon to do it with. Many argue the perfect soldier however they also have issues with power, if the unit gets EMP'd then it can fry their electrics and shut down entire armies. Without the thought process of humans, the robotic soldier also might go into situations of the battlefield which are clearly going to end badly and that can build up to be very costly to replace ruined robots.
Wellington Base is one of the many army set ups in the City of New London. The building on the left is the head quarters of the local region of the city. The two rectangular buildings on the left are the barracks and one building on the right of the head quarters contains the rest of the base such as simulation rooms, armoury, logistic facilities and hospitality rooms for civilians in situations of crisis. The buildings on the right are civilian apartments and highway-208 runs along the base, splitting military and civilian life.
Winston Plains
Winston Plains is a fifty mile square piece of landscape that is a mock battlefield with open plains, roads, farms, houses and towns that is used by all branches of the Armed Forces but it was first first created for the army in the late 260 AS.
Royal Logisitics is the blood of the army. Without it, the army would not be able to operate and its combat effectiveness and humanitarian abilities would be non existent. The Army has a large range of ground vehicles capable of supplying their forces along with a large flock of aircraft such as the M189 Airbird which was made for the Royal Air Force however over time, the Airbird became known as an excellent transport and so nearly 255 aircraft were bought by the Army.
