Why didn't you just give them a warning saying "You will not get phantoms back, but you can continue to write your story for the purpose of entertaining any who read it." ?
Because:
A): It just sets up future problems when they reference that lore while dealing with other factions.
B): If house intelligence factions, military and other assorted powers in Sirius couldn't breach the Phantom bases, why would a few Hessians manage to do it?
C): I was in a foul mood from dealing with some folk who couldn't understand the meaning of "no" on the faction ID discussions and was a bit heavy handed. I'm human, sue me.
Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.

Taking into account the input of previous posters on this matter, call me crazy but should there not be a creative writing section of some sort for stories that, while perhaps inert such as this Von guys RP can still be posted and shared whilst remaining out of the current story of Disco - within reason, of course. Assuming it's not already there and I'm just an idiot.
Inb4 robo-ponies invading Sirius from Equiestra sector, running away from Klingons armed with Star Wars imports. That's what "total freedom of role-play" would mean in Burak's definition.

Some things simply dont belong here.
Who would I kill if they didn't exist?
Anyways, didn't we use to have a non-disco story section?

I've seen -many- stories that went in contrast with known general RP lore of a faction, and it has never caused any problems that couldn't be solved with a simple "yeah this is the lore, not this, we don't care about what you do or say"
Because they can? It doesn't matter because it's a story, no one has to care. And you can't call it powergaming either because, you see, Phantoms are dead, no?
I understand moods, of course, you're a human and considering that even I as a simple member can see the loads of bull and stupidity going on on the forums and/or ingame, I can imagine the stuff you go through.
But, that does not mean you can't correct yourself afterwards.
And as said before, simply just telling them that their RP won't be going anywhere would be more than enough, a few months later if they come to you bitching about how they worked on it for months, you can just say "we already told you" and be done with it.

I don't see anything mentioning robo-ponies and/or klingons anywhere in their story, do you? This topic has nothing to do with that, their RP is connected to disco history/RP. So yeah, really, just go to that group over there that chooses not to make sense just to make a point, even if it's wrong, Michal.
All RP should be welcomed as long as it's realistic. Robo ponies are not realistic. I don't see why anyone shouldn't invent a story (example)about some random aliens coming to Sirius, as long as it's not a excuse to PvP whore. If you don't like their idea shut up or provoke them somehow so they declare war on you so you have an excuse to shoot them.
P.S. Random aliens coming to Sirius isn't realistic, because that would require them having a unique shipline, which isn't possible, my bad.
