Bonjour there, Achille.
I am contacting you because, as you are well aware of, we make a lovely trivial game of venomously antagonizing each other by executing attempts of teasing and violating each other's minds and sanity.
I have come to think that, while this triviality is very entertaining, I fear that it would prove detrimental for the Commonwealth in the long run and... You do know that there's nothing more important than the interests of our tres beloved fraternity, non?
Even if it's a humorous theatrical act of pouncing at each other's necks, I fear it's a detriment for the good standing and reputation of the Commonwealth. I do doubt outsiders would view two members of our Council pouncing at each other to be respectable, non?
That being said, I would like to... suggest a... I must admit I cannot believe myself for saying this as well but... I want to suggest a truce, to stop this childish acts of antagonizing each other, bien? Moreover, in other to allow your despicable and venomous ego to feast, I concede defeat.
Speaking of which, as I managed to stumble upon you... I may as well ask for your assistance if that is possible. The problem is a... most incroyable image which was forwarded to me by a well... respected contact. Allow me to upload it:
Magnifique, non? I would suggest you not to share it with anyone for the moment. I certainly do not enjoy the sight of useless tensions.
Unfortunately, my contact was reluctant to give me the coordinates of this belle sighting and that is why, I would like to ask you to make use of your extraordinary assets and set of skills to find out the location of the wreck by analyzing this image.
Merci beaucoup
Divitiae et Unitas

"Right. Firstly, you wish me to triangulate the position of the 'Straight Curve' from an image so incredibly pixelated that it's almost impossible to ascertain the structural conditioning of the ship, whether Krovin's actually dead or not (and he should rightfully be, judging by the lack of intervening communication since the official statement of his demise was broadcast) , or any other essential information which might prove benign to a rescue attempt is hardly forthcoming here, which brings me the my primary point...
"...I'm a scientist, not a forensic analyst. Exactly under what train of logic do you believe that I will be able to decipher the location of a single spatial in the entire Omicron regions from an image so inferior my pre-Sirian antique celluloid camera would be more effacious? Ok, well Robert, do you wish to know the results of my extremely technical and well-thought-out analysis."
*Grins wildly*
"...It's a picture of a planet in a nebula. Perhaps your are ignorant to this my friend, but there are lots of planets in nebulas".
"I'll begin my search in the Omicron Beta system. Atmospheric formations in the planet's atmosphere (although it's possible they're also coffee stains) would indicate planets Mallorca or it's neighbourly equivalents".
*sighs*
"Really Robert, with material like this, It'll be a miracle if we ever find Krovin. So you better start praying on your eternally dammed soul and hope for one."
As you say; "Magnifique, non?"
