Zoners shouldn't be allowed to trade except to other Zoner bases. This would end alliance that they all keep trying to make when they're supposed to be self segregated. And make them more of an RP tool that a "let me abuse this to get what I want" tool.

Then Zoners would need their own trade routes. which would mean a lot more work for the devs.
So i doubt thats gonna happen.

i think the freeports should stay completely independant. If the factions then wanted to make their own freeports they could, but the already established freeports should stay completely independant

Agree, zoners were loose confederation in vanilla, social self-outcasts and feaks living on the outskirts of known to mankind space, neutral and very few in numbers. What Discovery has done with that faction is just retarted, they shouldn't be allowed to fly anything bigger than gunboat and 3.6k transport.
In a current state zoners are overpowered cap-wielding faction with 5kers, trade routes outside house space and overpowered diplomacy, what makes playerbase trades as them instead of House corporations, blood of activity in that game. The better diplomacy faction has, the less trading abilities it should have.

No, just remove them. I was involved in a few "RP" POB projects and it always ended up in internal fights and drama who brought supplies and who hasn't. Paranoia accompanying "let's hope locals won't find our base in that nebula" was also unhealthy for fairplay. POBs turned Disco into a daily grinding game, activity suffers because of them, they are also incentive for reengaging, ooRP supplying and other dick moves, as it's not a ship which will be restored after one clicked "respawn".
That's something "permament" for people, what may be lost. People are jealous about their toys, and will do much to save them... Even if it means breaking server rules and ID restrictions.

Zoners arent really a faction. because of the vast difference between zoners.
The ones who give zoners bad names are the indies who dont follow the rules and ID.
Not saying all zoner indies are bad, but there are bad apples.
a few things to note:
1. Except for OSI, zoners cant dock on non-zoner bases with anything larger than 3.6k cargo space. as a trade-off for that, they are limited to gunboats. no caps.
2. Over powered diplomacy? neutrality is over-powered?
3. Do you even know anything about what zoners are and arent allowed to do?
Make the npc faction the one that holds the bases. Any other Zoner factions made by players are to be as weak as a gang (50 members inRP?), unable to take a station.
Boom!
Now you have Zoners that can dock on the same bases AND shoot each other!

Problem with this lies within the Indy Zoners who can also just get Cap ships. OSI members might deny this, but i have seen in the past some nephy securing the base of OSI within o-49. Also OSI are not really Zoners. they profit from the neutrality, but any compagny has competitors. Even more if you steal potential clients from others. So it would make OSI inRP to some hostile. I have nothing against OSI as faction itself. But its not realistic within my eyes.

Yeah. lore and disco differences are annoying, that and the complicated zoner.... everything.
Simple : Dont change anything, instead enforce the ID restriction and teach the "know-it-all" players what zoners are, so that next time people won't accuse me of not being a "true zoner" - yet they forget to mention the phoney zoner-kishiro faction. I am perfectly fine with the current ID and I have more than enough freedom to do what I want, that's right, everything. And also kill this "neutrality" arguement, because it has been growing like a tumor in disco for some time now. I hear' from somebody that zoners are "civilians" but then I read upper-case comments from people who would go on to abuse it by telling me fairy-tales just to suit their own narrow minds.
Edit 1 : Now I realize that some will link me to the ZA" and I can't argue with that, I obviously have history with the faction, but in truth they have more rp then OSI, and OSI for some reason has its own tag i.e ID.
Edit 2 : Oh and.. please will you folks please stop degrading zoners by starting an arguement about its shipline? Having caps for zoners is much the same as having caps with liberty so its pointless to debate this, oh and P.S - Nephilim is not a colony-ship but a warship re-designed for other purposes as well.
