As you can see on the second screen; he told us to leave and said that reeinforcements are incoming. Then I didn't expected that those two missiles would hit a snub at a range of 3.4k anyways.
Besides, he must have been hearing the "incoming missile" message for quite some time. Plus I gave him the warning before I fired those even. And he wasn't sitting still when they got him. So I say it was bad luck.

Third, you said caps are op, but later you say, they're easy to kill... lol-ing even harder!
I bother posting here, because 75% of my targets do fly caps. And saying that I'm no skilled capital pilot, doesn't mean that I'm not experienced.
I say that they're op in regard to being flown by a single player.

Not expensive enough regarding the amount of them being flown.
Guess what, caps are balanced to be killable this easily because there are many of them out there because everybody and their mom can fly one. Make them more rare, buff them to realistic strenghts and your problem is gone already.
I've killed Rheinlander gunboats in a Patriot in the Vanilla storyline. Several of them. I've taken out Battleships in a Fighter, even. That's how realistic it was.

Aaaaaaaand why did you bring up Vanilla mechanics? What relevance does it have here in Disco now?

I thought my point was pretty clear. In the Freelancer Universe, Capital ships aren't -this- great, just like how they weren't great either in Starlancer. Mentioning the word 'realistic' made me bring up the example.

Nope. Wrong answer. It is highly unlikely that caps will ever be buffed to "realistic" levels. This was discussed a few years back, with the dev/balance gurus gravitating towards fairplay. The idea of 1 cap player effortlessly decimating multiple players flying snubs was deemed unviable.
Even if caps were rare, they still wouldn't be robust enough to avoid being slagged by 2-3 bombers. And if we go down the route of granting player factions ultra-buffed flagships, you'll get your wish for a diminshed player base.
That said, I think nova torps need to be toned down, or be made 3 times as expensive as they are now. I do well flying bombers vs. caps and that's saying something, since my performance in a snub is best described as dismal.
This "I wanna be a unique snowflake" syndrome that many of the "limit the caps" crowd seems to have may be one reason why PoBs are high maintenance and labor intensive projects (thus the invulnerability): If more players could build them, there would be more of them, and that would just ruin some folks sense of immersion.
Well one thing is for sure if you limited caps to offcial faction members only. That would mean there'd be much less caps present on the server to spam with novas, and you know what that would mean. The minute a faction member uses one, it won't last 2 seconds before every man and his dog makes a bee-line to take it out.
Wouldn't be long before faction members start moaning their caps keep getting camp killed.
