Was a very busy night for the Hawaiis docking crew. A Cryer Transport had just docked for an immediate fuel resupply and repair after being hounded by an Outcast Patrol. A Spa and Cruise Transport was just leaving for a tour of the sights and wonders of Sigma-19. The Luxury Liners command deck was bursting with activity dealing with repair and equipment requests, cargo transfers
Cryer Engineer:Hawaii, we need that replacement power regulator ASAP, the regulator for the engine core is barely functioning and Im not sure how long it will hold out. Hawaii:Roger, the regulator should be on its way. Cryer Engineer:Good, because.<sound of a small electrical explosion followed by the sound of a power regulator giving out>DAMN it, Hawaii our engine cores power regulator gave out, attempting a power shut-down Cryer Assistant Engineer:<faint voice yelling in background> Its fused!!! Cryer Engineer:What do you mean fused! Damn, piece of junk!!! Hawaii, our engine cores too badly damaged its heading for an overload. We got about five minutes before it blows. Evacuating personnel and preparing for immediate departure. Hawaii:Roger, Cryer Trans.
Most Cryer personnel simply made their way off the ship valuing their lives over their belongings, but one scientist seemed to be way too attached to his work. He tried bringing with him a slow-moving suspension trolley with several large crates
Hawaii Cargo Mover:SirLEAVE IT we have to go!!! Cryer Scientist:You dont understandthese organismstheyre worth millions!!! Hawaii Cargo Mover:Theyre worth jack, if we dont get out of here!!!
The cargo mover grabbed the scientists hand causing him to drop the trolleys control panel. Out of control, the trolley veered left and ran up against a ramped side wall causing the containers to topple over.
Cryer Scientist:NOO!!!
Most of the containers simply fell and were no worse for wear but the top-most container was a case containing several vials of organic residues and organisms that the scientist must have been working on. The case and vials were not properly sealed and packaged. So when the case fell to floor, several of the vials cracked and began leaking within the case.
Hawaii Cargo Mover: WEVE GOT TO GO!!!
Hauling the scientist away, the cargo mover headed for the transports docking port. The case remained in the middle of the hallway, its contents having an organic party inside.
With most of the crew off the ship, the Captain and Engineer were preparing to set the autopilot and vacate the ship. Without warning an explosion suddenly rocks the transport as the primary coolant system fails. The explosion is strong enough to shake loose several support beams including one which falls directly on the scientists case. Jacob Wilton, a nearby Cryer crewmember is flung forward by the explosion and just misses being crushed by the falling support beam. However, Jacob neglects to notice the couple of drops of organic goo that happen to fall on his ankle and pant leg. Jacob looks back to see the fallen support beam and his near death.
Jacob:That was lucky.
He made his way off the transport, as the organic goo began working its way into his ankles flesh.
Meanwhile, the Captain and Engineer having finished setting the autopilot had quickly made their way to the docking hatch and were ensuring that all the personnel off.
Captain:Go, go, gocome on Jacob youre the last one, lets go!!!
Jacob made his way to the hatch but his right leg collapses at the door and he requires the assistance of the engineer to get off. The Captain seals the hatch and triggers a control panel tied to the ships autopilot.
The Cryer transport is last seen moving slowly away from the Luxury Liner. At 3km out its engines overload and explode, engulfing it in a huge fireball and destroying the vessel.
