Exactly my point!
We should have a liberty dreadnaught stationned in Alaska in fact.
And more importantly, are the npc there guard units? we need them to be HOSTILE to the corsairs entering there.
' Wrote:Sorry for hijacking, but the current torpedo/capital ship RP situation can get a bit tedious. Imagine a Xeno bomber with only stuff sold on Xeno bases. That'd be effective... Not. The way I see it, these weapons were originally designed by their respective creators (Mini razor =Zoner, inferno = outcasts), but the design now has spread to other groups.
Back on topic... I have seen tons of corsairs in Liberty. Not as much as you guys have, but that's because I play on pacific time. Mostly I see one corsair capital or bomber blowing up things left right and centre. Always independent, of course.
I suggest placing better defences in either Zone 21 or Alaska. And ignoring the "i'm escorting a smuggler" rp stories. Seriously, would a smuggler in real life be escorted by a tank?
Thats why you don't escort VIA a tank...if you do thats OORP. Fighters/Bombers maybe a gunboat is all. Usually what i do is I scout ahead of the smuggler and distract/destroy the lawfuls so the transport can make the run.
Actually, everything except for the Inferno, Robert, is open to everyone else.
The inferno is sold exclusively on Outcast bases, and really should not be open to anyone, especially the Xenos, who want nothing to do with the Outcasts.
of course there should be. I believe when Liberty first planend Alaska, they certainly werent aware of the access to the omicrons at the time, hence why the other side isnt that well protected. There should be a mine field or somethign there as well.
Quote:however, if i was denied to go through alaska, i d simply use the next shortest route through tohoku ( unless the KNF shuts THAT one down one day, too - cause in the end, tohoku is allmost as mystical and secret as alaska, isn t it? - leaves the journey through the omicrons, which at least the guild knows - but certainly no house guard.
Cheshire, the Blood Dragons and the Golden C. (both of whom would certainly know of it) would keep Tohoku open, though bear in mind we wouldn't be letting any bounty hunter scum through if we could possibly help it anyway;)
As for Liberty, I would like to see them guarding Zone 21, but if they do so, don't let bounty hunters through either. If you're not even letting your own lower level navy/police through, why would you let treacherous turncoat dogs like bounty hunters through? They're barely a step up from criminals themselves, and that's probably being too generous:P
Additionally, as i've said before in other topics, massively increase prices of cardamine and artifacts on Los Angeles and Denver to at least be equal to Manhattan (both LA and Denver are listed in RP background as being incredibly wealthy and as such would easily be able to afford such things and giving the added bonus of forcing the liberty factions to protect ALL of Liberty, not just damn NY), increase cardamine/artifact prices on New London/Cambridge research station and New Berlin, and Artifact prices in Kusari.
I know it's not quite the right place to put it, but I wouldn't mind seeing synthetic cardamine being invented by Cryer Pharmaceuticals finally, and being sold on Cryer bases (maybe add some more Cryer bases in out of the way places). Maybe have the Corsairs negotiating with Cryer to distribute it, leading to some additional interesting RP between corsairs and Outcasts, with the Corsairs trying to break the Outcasts economically. Maybe make a good selling point in each of the main houses for it, not just Liberty, so Corsairs have an additional smuggling commodity that doesn't bring them only into Liberty (since Liberty is where all the best selling points are for artifacts anyway).
Sorry for going a bit off topic there, but thought i'd share that anyway. So back to topic briefly, I think guards in Alaska should be ramped up to Guard status (maybe make the LSF guard in Alaska as nasty as the Wild guard in omega 58 are, and massively boost up the requirements needed to get the LSF Guard to neutral) and Alaska made into the LSF guard system (which i've suggested several times), or having the LSF guard system connected to only Alaska as an entirely new system (instead of the Ontario system which is what they're currently after and in my own opinion it is rather silly for it to be Ontario).
Having it as a Guard system and ramping up defences in there to include weapon platforms around omi minor jh/maybe a battleship stationed there to defend it would certainly make it a dangerous prospect to enter, especially for a battleship.
As someone said, it's not only unlawfuls (Corsairs) who go a bit OORP.
I just flown a Scimittar with no guns trough NY. SA and one LSF chased me.
I ran and docked to Bufalo after some time.
After about 5 minutes, I undocked, but SA guy was still there.
C'mon, don't camp unlawful bases, it's silly.
Do you see LH guys sitting in front of Norfolk waiting for you to undock?
After that, I hoped they will realize that i fled, and will leave me alone 'till I leave the system.
But, not really. I was then chased by 3 guys.
Of course I had to be boring.
Of course I had to be less dangerous then a Salad, with 2 guns mounted.
I don't mind you chaps chasing me at all, I didn't mind it when I had a dagger as well.
I didn't mind me being blown off by a Cruiser while I'v flown a Dagger.
Only thing that I ask is that you don't camp unlawful bases.
Please, that is totally ooRP.
No, I'm not whining, I just want you to realize that if I won't give you a fight (without weapons), you won't get it.
And that's it.
No need for sitting in front of Bufalo just to kill me as soon as I undock.
And if you did kill me while I was undocking, would you be happy?
Would you put me in a banner?
That achieves nothing.
Let's stay civilized, it's not all about getting a kill.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
camping unlawful base is another thing I find very despisable...
and a good reason to enhance base guns, what, a thousand time their actual power. I mean, comon, their refire is so bad, its barely useful against a player, they barely do any damage even with their actual modification, and player capships simply sustain 0 damage from them.
and these things, are powered by a stationary base which certainly, has more power capacity than you little fun capship of the day.
it is?
then, we should put on some uber weapon platform a bit at random through the badlands as well.
in fact, our solution might be as ridiculous as a few weapon platoforms...
Or the lawfuls could take the chance to RP, flying around looking at random rocks and trying to figure out which one the ship just flew into, without finding buffalo. Obviously its hidden well enough that some godmode character can't just discover it at random, or it would have been found years ago.
