Lambert located the pizza stone and set it onto the counter. Turning back to Pita, he reached into the bowl and felt the consistency of the dough.
"This will do nicely. Now let's bring this over here..."
He grabbed the ball of dough in both hands and dropped it onto the stone, then divided it into two pieces with the edge of his hand.
"Alright kiddo. We each get a pizza, so just flatten that dough out to make the crust." He demonstrated, flattening the lump of dough into a flat circle atop the pizza stone.
He smirked at her. "I guess we'll just have to see about that, won't we?"
He watched her finish flattening her dough, pleased that she seemed to have been paying attention and followed what he'd done closely.
"Alright, now we put our toppings on." He opened up several containers, the preserved fresh food instantly giving off aromas. "We've got your cheese, of course, and the tomato sauce, which is a necessity. Then different kinds of meat and veggies."
Lambert spread sauce on his dough first, then added cheese, several kinds of meat, and topped it with leafy green spinach.
He nodded to Pita, smiling. "Just don't overdo it with the toppings, we don't want to make a mess."
Pita copies him, once again, putting the sauce on the dough. She stops for a moment and tries to decide which toppings to use. She puts cheese on the base, and shrugs slightly.
"I don't know what else to use." She sounds almost sheepish about it. "I.... Yeah....."
"Okay." He shifted each pizza to the oven and sealed them in.
"Now we wait for them to cook. Should only take a couple of minutes."
He stood and waited, leaning up against the counter. He couldn't help but notice that Pita seemed to be in her own little world for the moment. He considered trying to break the silence, then decided against it.
