Luuuuv it, good work Xing. The retexturing is great, and the ship based off a Soviet sub is creative.

The point about the red star is troubling. What about creating an all new Coalition symbol? The hammer and sickle are somewhat out-dated concepts. Maybe something new and revolutionary for Discovery? Something that the workers and the people would identify with and rally to.

"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."

How about a Red Sun... still a star, but it would represent the Coalition having won in the Solar system? This would fit standard heraldry ideas, whilst retaining a link to the Coalition's concept.

Painted on a hull, it would be a red circle, because it has to look simple.
Perhaps it would fit.
Unless you want it to be a 8 cracks star-like sun?:)

You'll think of something.

Sounds too much like the rising sun symbol, a.k.a. Japanese a.k.a. Kusari.

What about a red Earth? Or something that represents Terra. Here is the symbol for Earth: [attachmentid=4572]

My only problem is that it doesn't lend itself to a "flag" for a faction as well as the star, or hammer and sickle.
