I know i know there are probably plenty of threads about this already and you guys are probably going to be mad at me for asking this but i cannot find any of the topics that discuss this issue.....
Me and a couple of freinds of mine want to create a bounty hunting group. There are currently 3 of us. Would this be considered a player union? And wether or not it is a player union or a faction can someone please tell me the current way of officializing such union of faction.... i know that it was that you had to send the admins an official faction request......
The admins are clamping down on new factions, its a VERY good idea to have a background, diplomacy list, and that stuff before you even ask. There was a post with some template ideas made yesterday, too lazy to hunt it down though...
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
If you just tagged yourself, and announced yourself here as a group, and RP'd a story in the role play section for others to read and learn about it, it would take alot of stress, energy and frustration out of the equation.
Factions require more work then you might think. Especially when you have to look after alot of members. And strict rules are implemented to make sure non-Rp'ers, PVP whores or at worst, cheating factions are made official factions here on Discovery.
Just my opinion.

Oh we already have a tag, rp and faction status list.... i just want to know how to do all this before i post all of it up annd make a big scene.... do i send it directly to the admins? do i post it up on the forums?
His question, I find, is valid, as it's been said that the admins are the first people you should go to - which results in plenty of idiotic submissions, no doubt.
Ok, here's the deal guys. The way it used to be was that you drew up your faction post with RP background, Ship lists, weapons, diplomacy, rules and regs, and anything else you thought was nessesary. You then sent that to an admin (Fellow Hoodlum, I pretty sure). The admins looked it over mainly to make sure it wasnt silly or crazy or absolutly unworkable. If they decided it was none of these things, you then were given permission to make a faction posting, to get community feedback and look for recruits. When you have 5 members your offical. That was when faction creation was more restricted. I belive now these diffrent steps have been simplified. Come up with your faction post, post it in the faction creation thread, allow the community to give you feedback and when the admins think you've got it right they'll let you know, then when you have 5 members, poof...your offical. This is how it goes as best as I know, but as I said, things may have changed when they added the faction creation fourm.
Submit it to Fellow Hoodlum BULLDOG or AC-Merc for validation first. Then when you have permission post a factions status in the Factions thread.
But 3 players ain't enough I think its like 5 to 8 members now? Which i find silly, because you can't officially actively recruit until the faction is official.
Meh...Group is far easier. And its the same as a faction to you, but without the middle man and restrictions...

The Faction Creation sub-forum within the Faction forum is where you need to post new faction submissions, as you have already done, but I would suggest you research your idea fully, and flesh out the detaails, it pays to have a well crafted submixssion, Dusty Lens's excellent example submission should be the bar against which you set your own submission. Although that is merely the standard not the content.

You can recruit on the forums before you are official. You just can't post a recruitment thread until Fellow Hoodlum or Ac Merc has given you permission to. At least, that is the way it worked for The Lane Hackers.

Nah, Xoria, now it's different. You don't need to PM hood or merc, just post in faction proposal, and wait for the answer.
That way, community can discuss it as well.
Much better if you ask me.
