I read the Liberty Navy ID recently, and I noticed the following in the ZoI section:
"...and systems bordering Liberty."
Shouldn't this be INDEPENDENT systems bordering Liberty? I'm confused here. As far as I know, this wording allows them to enter Guard Systems bordering Liberty (Puerto Rico and Cassini falls into this group; Londonderry in Bretonia, and there surely are others I'm not familiar with). Am I correct, or they are still not allowed into Guard Systems, despite the wording here?

It's probably an intentional change.

Keep in mind that any character with any ID is permitted to enter any system, unless the ID explicitly states that it cannot.
The most significant gameplay change is that you could potentially attack pirates in their own Guard systems. Given the system's native defenses, though, it might not be the most amusing task. Aside from that, this doesn't mean that lawful factions suddenly have roleplay dominion over unlawful guard systems.

I think there should be a rule about restricting guard systems to non-faction ships. I think a Guard System should be a safe haven for a faction, where the characters can exist without the fear of being jumped on and attacked.
I did not have the opportunity to test, but can "native defenses" take out 2-3 player battleships those are attacking the system?

Firstly, have you actually encountered a situation where this has been a problem, or is it purely hypothetical?
Secondly, if a ship enters a Guard system that isn't their own, the system's owners can do anything and everything they want to the intruder. That's already a fairly solid deterrent.

Given that every NPC in a guard system that can mount one has a Cruise Disruptor, Battleships might not be travelling so quickly.
Even if the NPC and static defenses can't take out multiple hostile Battleships, what does the defender have to lose? Nothing, unless a Player-owned Base is under attack. If you don't like how the opponent is fighting, then you can refuse to fight by docking or move on to another system. Their attack has no lasting consequences on lore.
Addendum: The appraoch I'm going for here is "Don't fix what isn't broken". I'm not yet convinced this minor change will have disasterous gameplay consequences.
That has allways been 1 system away.
For LN its abit more cuz fo the Gallia stuf and their aggrement INRP with BAF.
Just use common sence.

nope some factions dont mind traders to enter and keep economics flowing in their system, if the trader is not hostile. Remember that if the trust is missused the the official faction/system owner faction can use FR5.
I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

It used to be like that. We removed that rule to make it so every systems would be part of the greater RP environment, since Guard systems became little more than OORP Conn-like fests.
I used to have a screenshot of me being warned out of the LPI system by an official LPI member because I was an indie, and I went there just to get equipment, because that's where equipments used to be.
