This question is made after the kind of off-topic in the other topic about the Alliance faction.

http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=105576

I copypaste from there, here is:
Toji-Haku Wrote:Yet, I think there should be major political [and RP] turnout in the 4.88.
All four houses are just crippled, except for Gallia:
Liberty - exhausted because of war, with possibility of war with Gallia.
Rheinland - also exhausted because of war, yet having inner problems.
Kusari - has their fleet wiped out and is forced to be on peace with Gallia.
Bretonia - is on brink of death, with its fleets smaller and smaller.

Yet everyone seems to forgot about the Nomands, with Gallia having little to no knowledge about them.

Toji-Haku Wrote:Well, before First Nomad War humanity wasn't so crippled, with peace between all the Houses AND with big fleets on each side. What about now? Those nations are just weakened. With no political relations to each other, except for "agressive negotiations".

And this makes me think about the another idea. If the Emperor of Kusari has been exiled, wouldn't be the same with Charles XII if the Nomands would knock to the Gallia's doors? You know... East of the Gallia doesn't seem to be guarded, with almost all fleets in Bretonia.

So... what if Nomads have started their invasion right now? The Nomads from the First Nomad War wouldn't dream about the better situation in Sirius like it is right now, with almost no alliances and total war on almost all fronts. Houses are just in state of disorder, with fewer fleets everywhere. What would happen then to the Houses, right now?

Goooood, you just reminded me about my voyage to the Omicron Minor. I went to the system, being wondering about The Order base on Toledo (I haven't read about The Order on wiki) and I just wasn't prepared for the view I had encountered when I came out of nebula. I was just... mute for good ten minutes.

Have you thought about all houses joining front towards Nomads.

that would be the logical outcome.

I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

Gallia has always been pushed as the major antagonist by Disco developers. Nomads are a minor nuisance, I suppose.

Don't count on Nomads doing any major brute forcing in the future. In fact, expect the opposite.

I thought about it, but:
Rheins doesn't like Liberty. Because of these experiments in Liberty.
Bretonia is crippled, as it was mentioned before.
Kusari has no choice but to stay neutral to Gallia for a time.
Gallia hates everyone...

...yet the GRN is big. This is both its plus and minus. The bigger is fleet, the larger group of different thinking commanders, generals and so on. The only choice for Sirius would be or surrender to Gallia OR the turnout in the Gallia against the king and conquest of Sirius, forming an alliance which would put addition to crippled Houses fleets.

And thus, part of GRN would become Free Gallic Fleet, alike the Kusari Exiles in fact forms the Imperial Kusari Fleet.

Adolf Hitler (being very smart man, except for his ideology) had rebuilt Germany in about 10 years from crippled wreck into major force which almost conquered Europe. Why Nomads would do different? They have in fact unlimited resources and perhaps their territories may expand far beyond the Sirius.

Lorewise, it doesn't take all the houses to beat the entire military of the Nomads.

Keep in mind the primary goal of the Nomads isn't really "Destroy all humans". They'd love to, sure, but they have better things to do as well.

They'd be pretty damn stupid to try and kill humans in some sort of big attack, as that will focus attention right on them and in the end only weaken them.

Well, I agree with you, aside of the fact that the Nomads has unlimited resources and perhaps a territory exciding out of Sirius. But I see your point of view, of course, and I must say I could make a mistake with this topic. (But it was Narcotic that mentioned about Nomad War II.)

According to your idea, my RP character is xenobiologist and is rather critical against treating Nomads as the savage barbaric nation. He even came up with some ideas that Nomads may be different than mankind thinks, like forces which they fought off could be alien version of Gallia, and the Nomads could be divinded into Houses, like humans are.

Are you kidding? Half of GRN is infected and Charles is working with Harbinger.

Where would be the fun if all of Sirius joined forces to battle a common enemy? Most conflicts would stop... and we know that the political conflicts are what causes a majority of the interaction. Furthermore everybody would gang up against 1 faction... as a Gallic indie player, I know how that feels. And at least Gallic equipment is good, especially if compared to the Nomad stuff.

Consequently, the idea might not be really good for mainly oorp reasons even though I actually like the idea of a Nomad threat that is more than "far far out in the Omicrons".
